## Camtasia Reviews
  ### 1. It Accelerated Our Audiovisual Production Process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francisco L. | Socio Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I like that Camtasia is cloud-based and that it is very easy to use. Additionally, the help content and webinars have been very useful for our entire team.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I think they have an area of opportunity in the integration they have with Snagit and Audiate. We have had some errors when we want to create an avatar and then integrate it with Camtasia, or we want to use another application and we have no way to make the integrations. So, I believe that in terms of infrastructure, there is still room for improvement.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia to create audiovisual content and training, reducing production time. It facilitates team collaboration and accelerates adoption with useful integration with other tools.

  ### 2. Ease of Use, Endless Customization, Solving Business Problems in 60secs or less.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark S. | Organizational Change Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Easy to use palettes/tabs, it is much more refined than adobe's interface

Integration w/ SnagIt

I create 20-30 vids of various length per month; sometimes 45-60secs on how-to stuff, sometimes purging down meetings and live Q&As that go too long.

Fantastic screencapture setup ... I used this 3-4x per week.

Great seminars and trainings. I attend as many as possible, even when they are basic/101 level classes b/c I always learn something new.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

The baseline of free assets (specifically audio files {for background music, transitions}) is small. At previous jobs, I have had the whole Assets packet, which provides endless options and combinations.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just In Time usage - -
I primarily use it to make short (30-60sec) vids for our in-app support suite. Users with questions about our SAP software/processes never have to leave SAP to find an answer. When we do roll-outs (net new functionality to differing regions/audiences), I can attend the live Q&A sessions, see what is most commonly asked, and often come up with a short vid or a GIF to give them the answer by the end of the session.

Longer Form vids - -
Usually 2-5mins, they are more like a video job aid or QRG.

Longest vids
I take live training sessions, pare down the fluff (intros, sidebars, tangents) and host it internally. Then I can get my comms person to list out the latest video recap of the sessions. We do quick turnaround; if training ends at 7pm EST, I try to have the recap built and have the link ready for the outgoing comms that send at 0700 the NEXT DAY!

  ### 3. Camtasia Makes Professional Health Education Videos Fast and Effective

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishan S. | Manager and Dietician at Chaitanya Homoeo Clinic, Medical Store Owner, Content Creator, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I work as a Dietician & Nutritionist, manage a homeopathy clinic, and also create health education content. In my daily work, I handle diet charts, lab reports, patient guidance, and educational material. I often need to prepare clear video explanations for patients, students, and online audiences. Camtasia helps me record my screen and explain these topics in a simple way instead of repeating the same instructions again and again.
For video editing, Camtasia is very practical for my work. I can easily cut unnecessary parts, adjust the flow of the explanation, and focus only on the important points. Adding callouts, text, and simple zoom helps me guide viewers’ attention to diet values, charts, or instructions. These editing features make my videos clearer and more structured, which is useful for patients, students, and general viewers. I don’t need advanced editing skills to get good results, and the videos still look clean and professional.
I like how Camtasia lets me appear on the screen while explaining a PDF or diet chart, which makes the explanation more personal and clear. I can easily add images, text, and highlights during the video to support what I am explaining. Changing the video background and adjusting the layout also helps keep the content clean and professional. These features make my education videos more engaging and easier to understand for patients and students.
Camtasia is easy to use and quick to set up, so I can start recording or editing without any technical difficulty. I use it regularly . The features are simple but very useful, like screen recording, trimming, adding text, arrows, and highlights to important points. The basic support and learning resources are easy to follow when needed. Overall, Camtasia helps me save time, keep my explanations clear, and create professional content for my clinic and educational work.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

There is not much to dislike about Camtasia for my work. Sometimes, when projects become a little longer, the software can feel slightly heavy, and basic edits may take a bit more time. Also, for very simple videos, there are many options on the screen, which can feel a little confusing at first. Apart from these small things, it works well for my daily video editing and education work.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia solves the problem of repeatedly explaining the same diet plans, reports, and health topics in my daily work. As a Dietician, homeopathy clinic manager, and content creator, I often need to explain diet charts, PDFs, and instructions clearly to patients and students. With Camtasia, I can record my screen, add my voice and video, and highlight important points so everything is explained in one clear video.

This helps patients understand their diet routine better and reduces follow-up questions. For online teaching, it allows me to prepare structured lessons that I can reuse, which saves time and effort. Camtasia also makes video editing simple, so I can create professional-looking education videos without advanced technical skills. Overall, it improves clarity, saves time, and helps me manage clinic work, teaching, and content creation in a more organized and efficient way.

  ### 4. Camtasia is still GREAT and it has only gotten better since my last review!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis R. | Professor of Computer Science and Information Technology at Delta College, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia has improved its captioning capabilities and added AI-assisted audio and text editing, along with improvements for other features.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I agree that the audio volume is more difficult to find, but I still think the product is very good. The more one uses it, the more one will be familiar with finding the 'less intuitive' tools.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia primarily for pre-recording lectures and demonstrations for my classes. It was a TREMENDOUS help having used Camtasia to pre-record much of my instructional content prior to being required to teach 100% remotely due to the pandemic. I had many lectures and demos already created and being already familiar with Camtasia made teaching remotely much less stressful than it has been for many of my colleagues.

  ### 5. Camtasia Makes Clear, Accessible Training Videos with Ease

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robyn H. | Lab Safety and Training Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia excels at creating clear, structured, and accessible training videos. Screen capture combined with narration, captions, and visual callouts makes it ideal for explaining systems, policies, and procedures in a way that supports adult learners with varied technical backgrounds.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Long, multi-section training videos with layered effects can tax system resources. A higher-spec computer is helpful when producing complex or SCORM-ready content

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia extensively to develop post-secondary safety and compliance training for University of Manitoba faculty, staff, and students, and it has proven to be a reliable, efficient tool for creating clear, accessible instructional content. From a training development perspective, Camtasia strikes a good balance between professional output and usability. It does not require advanced video production skills, which allows me to focus on instructional quality, accuracy, and alignment with institutional standards rather than on complex editing workflows.

  ### 6. Long-time user - still the easiest editor I've used

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdul R. | Freelancer, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I began using Camtasia back in 2020, when I was just 9 years old, mainly to create content for my gaming channel, Rafay Gaming. What I appreciate most is how straightforward everything is—I never felt like I needed to be a professional editor to produce quality videos. The screen recorder is very reliable, and I love how I can simply drag and drop stickers or arrows onto my clips. After using it for about four or five years, I still consider it the best tool for recording and editing videos all in one place. Now, as a freelance video editor, I rely on Camtasia specifically for screen recording and making quick tutorials for both my clients and my YouTube channel.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

To be honest, not everything about this software is perfect. One of my biggest frustrations is the high price—it feels quite expensive, especially when you consider that there are other free editors available. Additionally, I sometimes experience slow performance. When I'm working on large video projects with many layers, the preview screen tends to lag significantly. It seems to require a very powerful PC to run smoothly, and rendering can take an extremely long time. I really wish it were more lightweight and didn't consume so much of my RAM.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Honestly, the main issue Camtasia solved for me was combining both the recorder and editor into a single app. Back in 2020, when I was running my gaming channel (Rafay Gaming), I had to juggle multiple tools, which made things really messy and confusing, especially when moving files between programs. With Camtasia, recording my screen and editing the clips on the same timeline became so much easier. Even though I haven't uploaded to YouTube in about a year, I still use Camtasia for small personal projects or just to experiment and learn new things. It's noticeably faster than other heavy editing software, which always seemed to take forever to load.

  ### 7. Effortless Professional Videos with Unique Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bash H. | Founder, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I love Camtasia's cursor effects, like the smooth cursors and click effects. I think these cursor-related effects are unique to Camtasia and make my life easier by saving time on animations that would otherwise take weeks to animate manually. I also find that creating professional-looking video explainers is much simpler without having to keyframe everything. The initial setup of Camtasia was very easy for me.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I kind of wish if it was possible to make custom transitions, but hey, you can't have a quick and easy video editor with billions of sliders too.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia for professional video explainers without having to keyframe everything, saving weeks of manual animation work with its cursor effects, which are quick and unique.

  ### 8. Impressive AI Transcript Editing Makes Video Edits Clean and Seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kiran K. | Training And Development Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

The new AI feature in Audate is really impressive. It lets me edit a video by deleting words directly from the transcript, which makes the whole process much easier and keeps everything in sync with the video. The removal of filler words and silence is amazing, and it helps the edits feel clean and seamless.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

The effects still feel like the old ones, and I’d like to see a few new options added to better support modern video editing.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I come from the training industry, I have a lot of training recordings that were captured in a fairly normal way. This helps me enhance those videos into a more professional-looking format and host them in a short time.

  ### 9. A Decade of Excellence with Camtasia

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I appreciate the amazing cost and balanced set of features Camtasia and Audiate offers. It provides just the right amount of capabilities necessary for my work, mainly focused on screen and video capture, without overwhelming me with unnecessary features. This helps me stay efficient without feeling bogged down by too many complexities. I value that despite being feature-packed, Camtasia has managed to maintain simplicity and usefulness. Additionally, the whole Camtasia suite stands out for its ease of use, with an initial setup that is both straightforward and intuitive, making the learning curve virtually non-existent. This ease considerably enhances the user experience by allowing me to focus on creating and editing videos smoothly. Camtasia has continually improved over the decade I've used it, becoming faster, more reliable, and more useful, which reflects its commitment to consistent advancement and reliability.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Every once in a while, when I'm working on a large project, Camtasia can get slow.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia to create technical training videos efficiently. It improves video editing speed and reliability, is feature-rich but not overwhelming, and balances cost and functionality perfectly for screen and video capture needs.

  ### 10. Intuitive, Easy-to-Use Video Editing with Pro Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zeta K.

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I really like using Camtasia because it's very user-friendly, very easy to use, with a very short learning curve. It's easy to pick up and start using very quickly without much of a hassle. The interface is intuitive, so you can just start using it. If I want to do fancier or cooler things, there are options available to really up my game. I can learn about those and do some professional-looking editing as well. I like having a lot of different options and also the option to pull in other types of media easily, which is very useful. The initial setup is very simple and easy, and you can just start using it straight away. I've recommended Camtasia to lots of people because I think it's a great product, very user-friendly, and I enjoy using it.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

One thing that Camtasia does not have is AI voice overs, so I need to create those for my videos pretty often in another software like Storyline. It would be nice if Camtasia had more options like icons, so I didn't have to make them in Canva and bring them over.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia to create screencast videos for demonstrating technical products. It's user-friendly with a short learning curve, allowing me to start quickly. The fancier features help make videos more professional, and I can easily add different media, which is very useful.

  ### 11. Effortless Video Creation and Editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cortney V. | Technical Trainer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I use Camtasia to create snippets and longer-form videos for training purposes. It takes away so much of the time of editing or adding special effects since so much is built right in and it's easy to use. I appreciate the ease of use and how effortlessly I can pick it up and start working with it. Out of the box, it just starts working, and finding what I need is simple and easy to do. I love how just with a few clicks, the formatting makes my videos look elegant and professional. I don’t have to go through lengthy editing processes; Camtasia provides all the skills I need to make my videos look good the first time with just one click. One feature I especially love is the mouse feature, which enlarges the mouse and makes it easier for users to follow what I'm doing. The initial setup was very easy, and compared to what I used before, Camtasia feels much more robust.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Nothing in particular

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia to create training videos, saving time on editing with built-in features. It's easy to use, provides professional video formatting, and enhances video clarity with its mouse feature.

  ### 12. User-Friendly Video Editing with Fast Learning Curve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jarod P. | Director of Design Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I like Camtasia because it's super easy to use, and it only takes a couple of minutes for someone to learn how to do transitions or edit videos. It's very straightforward and doesn't require you to be a graphic designer, unlike other software like Premiere. I appreciate that all the tools are right there on the user interface, making them really easy to see. The initial setup is also very simple; it's a quick install and the updates are quick too. A little tutorial video shows you how to use things effectively, and it doesn't take very long to start using it.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Sometimes I wish there were more different transition types. I know that it's gotten better from years past, but I don't always love the way I have problems editing sometimes. The filter that goes on top of the mouse drives me nuts sometimes, but all in all, I've figured out how to get it to work the way I like it.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia for quick screen capture and video editing all on one platform, which helps show tasks on the computer and create educational content. It's straightforward and easy to learn, unlike complex editing software.

  ### 13. Effortless Video Editing and Reliable Updates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pamela A. | Educational Consultant

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I really appreciate the complete suite of tools included with Camtasia, especially the easy video recording and video editing. I use Audiate and SnagIt regularly when working on my videos, and I love that I've been using Camtasia since the early 2000s—it's user-friendly and remains stress-free, even when upgrading to the latest versions. I find being able to drag and drop content to the screen or timeline incredibly simple. Zooming the timeline for tiny tweaks helps create highly professional videos. The basic navigation has stayed the same, which I like, and new features are added regularly without complicating the software. The initial setup was super simple and ready to use right away. I think it’s great that Camtasia stays straightforward while continuing to include powerful tools, making it highly recommendable.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

The one issue I had with Camtasia was my old TREC projects would lose some of the media when an update came out. Based on my last 3 updates this seems to have been solved.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia provides a complete suite of tools for easy video recording and editing. I appreciate the simple drag-and-drop functionality and timeline zooming for precise edits, making professional videos. It integrates smoothly with other TechSmith tools like SnagIt and Audiate, enhancing my workflow.

  ### 14. Makes Video Creation Surprisingly Simple

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishal D. | Quality Assurance Specialist, Gambling & Casinos, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia features an intuitive and beginner-friendly interface, making screen recording and video editing straightforward, even for those without technical experience. The drag-and-drop timeline, along with built-in transitions, annotations, and cursor effects, helps streamline post-production and saves considerable time. I also value the dependable screen capture quality and the ease with which it connects to external audio and video sources. Overall, it serves as an excellent all-in-one tool for producing tutorials, training videos, and presentations, all without requiring advanced video editing expertise.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

The main downside is performance—rendering often takes a considerable amount of time, particularly with high-resolution projects, and the app may lag when handling more complex edits. While the effects library is decent, it does feel somewhat limited. The pricing also seems rather high for individual creators or small teams, and the collaboration features could definitely be improved. Nevertheless, despite these issues, Camtasia continues to be a dependable and easy-to-use choice for most video creation tasks.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia simplifies the video creation process by integrating both screen recording and editing features into a single application, removing the hassle of switching between different tools. For quality assurance tasks, it accelerates the production of tutorials, demonstrations, and training videos, while maintaining consistency through reusable templates and straightforward export options. In general, it helps save time and results in more professional and clear communication.

  ### 15. One-Stop Solution with Room for Performance Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashiq M.

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I like using Camtasia because it is perfect for recording webinars and creating video tutorials. The features make the workflow smoother, allowing me to analyze mistakes, delete text in transcripts, and benefit from fully editable and scalable options with automatic smart zooms. I find it particularly valuable because many professionals, including myself, need videos to look high-end without having to learn complex tools like Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro. Camtasia offers a good visual polish suitable for non-designers. I also appreciate the integration with Audiate for text-based editing, which makes removing filler words like 'ums' and 'ahs' easy. Overall, Camtasia being an all-in-one tool, recording and editing in one window, was a great switch from OBS Studio for me.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I don't like the performance issues with Camtasia, especially the lag when working with 4K or 60 fps videos. It also demands a lot of RAM and CPU, which makes it tough to run other professional apps at the same time. This causes a friction tax that slows down production and can affect the professional quality of the output. The initial setup was hard to grasp from the beginning, but got better over time.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia for screen recording, webinar filing, and video tutorials. It helps analyze mistakes, edit transcripts, and offers automated zooms. It's great for non-designers needing visual polish and simplifies editing out 'ums' with text-based tools.

  ### 16. An essential tool for corporate training videos

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia is easy to use, and I was able to get the hang of it right away. I especially like how straightforward it is to add layers and insert text, which makes editing feel simple and manageable. The best part for me is the option to automatically add captions, even though I sometimes still need to go back and refine them afterward. I use the program weekly, be it to edit a 30-second promo video or 12-minute step-by-step training video.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I would like for the AI voices sounded more realistic and natural. Sometimes, it's easier for me to create the graphics on another program and add them as a .png to the video.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia to create training videos for my company and the program helps me get them done quickly.

  ### 17. Effortless Video Recording with Minor Ad Distractions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed A.

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I use Camtasia for self video recording and editing, and I find it excels at providing easy face and screen recording. As an educational content creator, I appreciate that it's simple and straightforward, solving my daily struggles to create educational videos. Receding face while recording my presentations is a huge benefit, and the initial setup of Camtasia is easy, direct, and without complications.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I don't like the ads that pop up with different female pictures. I prefer not to have more ads. It would be better if these could be shown during the software's loading with a skip button.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia makes face and screen recording easy, simplifying the creation of educational content with straightforward tools. Recording my presentation while including my face is a huge benefit.

  ### 18. Camtasia is a full-featured easy to use video capture and editor program that I use weekly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia offers an intuitive interface that makes video editing easy to learn, even for those who may find advanced editors overwhelming. It includes most of the features found in more complex software, but presents them in a way that feels approachable. The screen recording functionality is especially important, and Camtasia excels in this area. In my role in higher education, Camtasia has proven invaluable for our teachers and development offices as they create learning materials. I use the software every week and value the regular updates and support provided by Techsmith. As an LMS administrator and learning technologies system administrator at a four-year university, I rely on Camtasia to produce training modules, tutorial videos, and quick video responses where I can annotate solutions. When new features are introduced on other platforms, I use Camtasia to record demonstrations and then edit these recordings into polished, professional-looking videos. We share these resources with our faculty and students. I appreciate how easily I can trim and edit both new recordings and existing media, add voice-overs, incorporate animations and annotations, and more. The zoom animation feature, which allows me to focus on specific interface elements, is particularly helpful. Since we have a site license for Camtasia, we provide the software for all faculty and staff at the University. When faculty request a Camtasia license, we provide them a 30-minute one-on-one training session. Our faculty seem to learn how to use Camtasia easily and create their own learning content. They create videos and upload them to our LMS for student viewing. The videos that Techsmith provides are also useful and are in small chunks so anyone learning how to use Camtasia can focus on a particular topic. I like that Camtasia is available for both Mac and Windows since we have users on both operating systems.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

When editing videos, I sometimes find it challenging to choose the most suitable transition, such as fade or fade through black. Deciding which one to use can be a bit tricky, but overall, this is only a minor concern.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As someone working in higher education, I find that Camtasia equips our teachers and development offices with the necessary tools to screen record and capture video, making it straightforward to produce professional-looking and engaging learning content for students. I rely on Camtasia for various tasks throughout a typical week. For instance, when our systems receive updates with new features, I use Camtasia to record my screen and demonstrate these changes. I also take advantage of Camtasia’s editing capabilities, animating the video to zoom in and out and drawing attention to specific areas of the screen. Additionally, I add annotations to highlight important sections or to provide extra textual information. Our teachers use Camtasia to record lectures and then edit them into more engaging content for students. Thanks to our site license, any faculty or staff member at the University can use Camtasia for a range of video-based problem solving. The site license is also reasonably priced and affordable for our institution. Our faculty and staff don't have time to learn more complex video editors, and Camtasia seems to be the right 'fit' for learning and content creation.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I wish I could crop my videos in Camtasia. If I need to zoom in on a clip, I have to expand the video beyond the screen to achieve the zoom. It would also be great if there were more animation options.

  ### 26. Easy, Polished Video Creation Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

What I like best about Camtasia is how easy it makes creating polished, professional videos without needing advanced editing skills. As an account manager, I can quickly record product demos, client walkthroughs, or internal training materials and enhance them with annotations, transitions, and callouts. The interface is intuitive, and the built-in screen recording and audio tools save me from switching between multiple apps. It’s a huge time-saver for communicating ideas visually and delivering content that looks sharp and engaging.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

What I dislike about Camtasia is that rendering and exporting videos can take a while, especially for longer or high-resolution projects. The file sizes also tend to be quite large, which can make sharing or storing them a bit cumbersome. Additionally, while the editing tools are great for most use cases, they can feel limited if you’re trying to do more advanced effects or animations compared to dedicated video editing software.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia is helping solve the challenge of creating clear, engaging video content without relying on a full production team. As an account manager, it allows me to record presentations, client updates, and training sessions quickly, ensuring our messaging stays consistent and professional. It bridges the gap between live demos and static slides by letting me visually explain complex ideas in a way that’s easy to understand and share. This has improved communication across teams and with clients, saving time and making our content more impactful.

There is nothing negative I could say about Camtasia.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia solves several key problems related to video creation, especially for educators, trainers, and content creators:

1. Screen Recording & Editing in One Tool: Instead of juggling multiple programs, Camtasia combines screen capture and video editing in a single, streamlined platform. This saves time and simplifies the workflow.

  ### 30. Simplifies Video Creation with Easy Editing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** גילי .

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I like to use the editor in Camtasia to make simple videos. It offers easy combinations between graphics and audio, which is really helpful. I appreciate the simplicity of working with Camtasia, as well as features like animation, transition control, color adjustments, bullet points, and audio editing.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I think the graphics are too native. I wish there was more freehand with shapes. Also, before version 2026, Snagit could share directly to Camtasia, but now it can't.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Camtasia's editor to make simple videos, enjoying its easy combinations between graphic and audio. I value the simplicity of the platform, alongside features like animation, transition control, color, bullets, and audio editing.

  ### 31. Great for simple video edits, especially for recording edits

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ann C. | Associate managing consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia is capable of simple video editing, and it is especially great for editing screen recording videos and training videos because of its built-in annotation tools. The speed adjustment and transition features are also easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

It takes a bit of training to understand the logic of how Camtasia's features work. But once familiarized, this is a very user friendly tool! You can also export audio only, which comes in handy sometimes. The biggest thing I wish Camtasia could improve is, other than having great subtitle editing features, it would be amazing to have AI-generated subtitles!

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to use PPT to create simple animation videos and then import the PPT video into Camtasia to do further edits to match with audio.
Recently, we use Camtasia more for paring animated video with audio and to detach video and audio from AI generated voiceover videos made with PowToon.
We also use Camtasia to do screen recording training videos a lot, which I think is Camtasia's best feature.

  ### 32. The best and easiest

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amutha A. | AI Generalist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

To begin with, it is very easy to use. There is an easy demonstration and event sessions and webinars that are there along with the certification which help us understand the technology and also help it work for us, interpreting it into the social media or where we want to share, it is also the best feature. I bought Camtasia for my classrooms and teaching to make it more relevant, but I find myself using it frequently into even even edit my other videos like my cooking channel on YouTube, so it serves more than the purpose we have actually bought it for.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Dislike when it has all the features, what is there to dislike?

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a person who does not have any technical background. However, I do find myself learning a lot from the webinar conducted and constant updates on email as well. Whenever there is something extra added, so it's helpful.

  ### 33. Easy to use and efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff M. | I am Medical Doctor but Freelancer Video Content Creator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I like the way it is just simple and easy to use when editing a video. And customer support is just very good.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

There is actually none. But it is anyone when it always ask to connect to the server to verify account. Even though you are in order with your subscription. Make it only for those whose subscription has expired, please. And sometime even that verification doesn't work ("Unable to connect to the server", error message). I dislike this.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia solves the problem of complex, time-consuming editing by giving me an easy-to-learn, efficient tool. It saves me time, keeps my workflow smooth, and lets me focus on creating content instead of struggling with software.

  ### 34. Camtasia Makes Screen Recording and Tutorial Editing Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mason D. | Marketing Manager, Law Practice, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia is so easy to use for screen recordings and short tutorials. Timeline editing is simple and there are as many features as other, more expensive video editing softwares

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I found that zipping the files for Mac from Windows and then trying to open those project files on Mac does not work.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We make a lot of short tutorial videos for our software and add these videos to the Learning Center (LMS) - The customers love the videos and they are helpful on the Knowledge Base as well.

  ### 35. Effortless Video Creation with User-Friendly Camtasia

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsey B.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I like the user-friendliness aspect of Camtasia. For someone who's never used video editing for training purposes, it's very easy to use and quick to learn. It's also very easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I find the training links could be better. When I'm trying to see if Camtasia can do something, I wish the search was more specific to help me find what I'm looking for.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia streamlines the visual process, allowing me to clearly convey step-by-step instructions.

  ### 36. Versatile and User-Friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia is easy to get started but also allows for more complex video editing if, and when, it's needed. I'm able to use it for very quick, ad-hoc videos and complex, scripted videos with ease. The application works well for a variety of needs and since we started using Camtasia we have never had a need that required any other software.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Camtasia definitely tries to be all things to all people. We use Camtasia to create content for our users as a business and rarely want or need the features marketed towards influencers.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Camtasia to edit recorded webinars, to create video content for our help center, and for quick screen recordings to share internally.

  ### 37. Online teaching with Camtasia

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

I appreciate that I can prepare a complete lecture, including PowerPoint and video segments, in one file so my students can experience the lecture as intended rather than jumping around to different files. I like Articulate and the ability to editing the video transcript.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I would like to have text-to-speech and be able to clone my voice. I do this, but I need additional software

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use my Youtube account to store and distribute my content video for my classes. Having the video, screen captures, and AI creations in one format and in one place is extremely useful. I often combine multiple video clips into one presentation.

  ### 38. Great Tool for Non-experts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosa D. | Senior Technical Writer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

It's more intuitive to use than other video editing software. I am able to easily use advanced techniques to really polish my videos with just a few clicks. I recently produced a video series and was able to do it in a very short time thanks to Camtasia.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

The hardest thing for me is just finding the right area where to click sometimes while I'm editing. If I have the timeline stretched to get granural controls for some edits or applying some effects, when I try to select the scroll bar at the bottom to move the playhead, I end up moving the window (I use several monitors). However, they are minor inconveniences compared to the value I get from it.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to deliver very professional, polished videos with little video editing training. I can also apply more advanced effects and transitions with just a few clicks. It's a huge value for the cost. One of the best things are the webinars on how to use Camtasia. I've learned a lot through their educational tools. I've gotten great feedback both internally and externally on the quality of our videos.

  ### 39. A user friendly tool for creating high quality content

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew D. | Visiting Lecturer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia is a very easy to use video production editing program. I had tried other software before and I had struggled to use it effectively. Camtasia was cheaper and a better solution, especially for creating content for my YouTube channel. When I was teaching at University they had their own capture software but for computer demonstrations the resolution was never good enough especially for applications with large amounts of symbols. Using Camtasia allowed me to integrate PowerPoint slides along with screen captures as Camtasia has a PowerPoint plugin.

Installation is very simple and the licensing is also straight-forward. I have used it on Macs and PCs and I prefer the PC implementation. I also have it linked to the Cloud so that I can move between platforms.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I like the tracking focus for doing tutorials. Originally this was automatic but now you need to implement it manually. I understand that this is because otherwise you can end up with a feeling of motion sickness if it tracks too much but I find the process quite time consuming and an intermediate AI supported tracking would be the best of both worlds.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing me to create much better tutorials than with existing tools and this in turn is allowing me to build my YouTube Channel

  ### 40. Edson Marinho

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edson M. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

It is user friendly and very intuitive, without losing the major features needed to edit videos.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I'd like dynamic captions to be at the same format as closed captions - allowing to download it and translate it.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It really helps to create videos with instruction to my colleagues - by capturing the screen, with audio, and allowing me to easily edit it.

  ### 41. A lifesaver for an accidental L&D Trainer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James G. | Lead Associate, Instructor Experience, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia has been a game-changer for me as I transitioned from being an instructor to developing training for our internal teams. It was easy to learn, and I was up and running quickly—even without prior video editing experience. I use it regularly to create professional, clear training videos on systems, processes, and technology. The screen recording, annotations, and editing tools make it ideal for building engaging instructional content. I'm also exploring the SCORM options to integrate with our LMS, which is a great added feature. One thing I will note is TechSmith's Customer Support is absolutely AMAZING!

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

While Camtasia is incredibly useful, there are some limitations. The background removal feature doesn’t work well even with a green screen, and I often have to rely on OBS for cleaner results. It also lacks advanced color correction tools and offers limited options for interactivity like quizzes or polls. Additionally, navigating the asset library is time-consuming; a more streamlined gallery view would improve the workflow significantly.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia solves the challenge of quickly producing professional training content without needing a background in video editing. As someone responsible for educating instructors on new systems, tools, and processes, I needed a solution that would allow me to record, edit, and publish instructional videos efficiently. It helps eliminate the need for repeated live training sessions and ensures consistency in delivery across the team.

Camtasia allows me to create high-quality, easy-to-understand video content that supports our instructors anytime, anywhere. It saves me time, increases training reach, and helps standardize learning. Its intuitive interface and built-in tools make it possible for me to continuously create, update, and enhance content without depending on outside resources or advanced production tools.

  ### 42. Powerful and User-Friendly, but Licensing Could Be Smoother

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian S. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia stands out for its intuitive interface, making it incredibly easy for beginners to start creating polished video content quickly. The software's export capabilities are also impressive—supporting a wide range of formats and resolutions that make sharing and publishing content effortless and professional.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Despite its strengths, Camtasia has a few areas that could benefit from refinement. The licensing system is unnecessarily complex and not very user-friendly when moving between devices or managing multiple users. Additionally, while the asset library is extensive, many of the more appealing elements are locked behind a paywall, and the default free assets tend to be overly simplistic and limited in variety.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia solves the challenge of creating professional-quality video content without requiring advanced technical skills or expensive production tools. It simplifies screen recording, video editing, and narration in a single, integrated platform. This is especially beneficial for creating tutorials, product demos, training materials, and presentations efficiently.

For me, this means I can produce polished videos quickly, saving time and avoiding the need to juggle multiple applications. The streamlined workflow lets me focus on content quality rather than getting bogged down in technical complexity, which enhances both productivity and creativity.

  ### 43. A surprisingly powerful and approachable video editor for course creators

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barak V. | Designer and owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia offers an incredibly intuitive interface that makes complex video editing tasks feel simple.
It’s perfect for creating educational content — especially with built-in animations, cursor effects, callouts, and transitions that are ready to go.
I love how fast it is to produce polished videos without needing to learn complicated tools.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Some visual effects (like masking or complex blending) still feel a bit limited compared to higher-end tools.
I’d love to see more advanced control over layers, keyframes, and dynamic text.
Still — for most use cases, especially tutorials and screen recordings, it’s more than enough.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia saves me time and mental overhead. Instead of bouncing between multiple tools, I can record, edit, and enhance everything in one place.
It's especially helpful for keeping my course production process efficient — from trimming takes to adding highlights, zooms, and transitions.
It also lets me quickly reuse branded elements, animations, and templates across projects, which makes my content feel consistent and professional with minimal effort.

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia is incredibly versatile and user-friendly, making it an outstanding choice for video editing needs. The software offers a wide array of templates that simplify the editing process, allowing users to create professional-quality videos effortlessly. The intuitive interface is another highlight, as it facilitates easy navigation, even for beginners, without the need for extensive experience.

Additionally, Camtasia boasts a variety of powerful features, from screen recording to sophisticated animations. These features enhance the overall user experience and expand the creative possibilities, making it an indispensable tool for editors at any level.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

While Camtasia is packed with impressive features, one downside is the lack of sufficient training for advanced functionalities. After attending a training session led by a non-Camtasia employee, which showcased advanced animations, I was left wanting more. The session was incredibly insightful and revealed the true potential of the software, but I found myself wishing for more extensive and recurring advanced training offerings.

Providing more frequent and comprehensive training sessions, especially pre-recorded ones focusing on advanced features, could help users fully leverage Camtasia's potential and enhance their editing skills. This is an area where Camtasia could significantly improve.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simplifies Video Editing: Camtasia provides a user-friendly platform that simplifies the video editing process, making it accessible to users with varying levels of experience. This eliminates the barrier of complex software interfaces and allows non-professionals to produce high-quality videos.

Enhances Content Creation: With its array of templates and features, Camtasia enhances the content creation process by offering tools that make it easy to add professional touches, such as animations, transitions, and effects.

Streamlines Presentation and Tutorial Development: Camtasia’s screen recording and editing capabilities are particularly useful for creating tutorials, presentations, and demonstrations, enabling educators, trainers, and marketers to clearly communicate complex information.

Saves Time: With built-in templates and intuitive editing features, Camtasia saves users valuable time in producing polished video content, reducing the need for extensive manual editing and allowing for efficient workflow management.

  ### 45. Powerful, Stable, and Incredibly Effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David V. | Artiste Photographe | galerie photo voyage et nature, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia is an outstanding tool that delivers exactly what it promises. It’s powerful, stable, and easy to use, making video recording and editing both efficient and professional. A reliable solution that truly stands out for creating high-quality content with ease.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Honestly, I don’t really dislike anything. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the price is a bit high, but the value and stability completely make up for it.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Camtasia solves the challenge of creating professional videos quickly and without technical headaches. It allows me to record, edit, and share tutorials or presentations in one streamlined workflow. This saves me a huge amount of time, improves the clarity of my communication, and lets me deliver polished content to my audience with ease.

  ### 46. Easiest software I have found that creates professional videos

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

This software is extremely easy to use, to capture a video from the web where otherwise there is no "save to" option. Video and audio are perfect, never choppy or blocky.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

I have not had any issues or complaints with the software.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a Locksmith, and occasionally find Lock and or Safe Videos online that help me in the servicing or replacement of same. Having a Video that shows the internal workings can save hours of on the job time.

  ### 47. Camtasia - Simple UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Very intuitive interface once you get to know it. Simple to use and operate, an almost endless list of editing options fits everything you need. Integration with Audiate also a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Does take some time to learn how various editing options work. Most notably for me, figuring out how to make transitions between clips be what I wanted them to be was a challenge at first.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visually recording an in-depth training on how to use my company's software, with the ability to call out, extend, cut, and emphasize different aspects.

  ### 48. Intuitive and Professional Video Creation Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Camtasia is intuitive and quick to learn. The timeline is clean. The screen recording is stable. The built in effects make it easy to create professional looking training videos without needing advanced editing skills.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Rendering can be slow with heavier projects, and large files increase the chance of small glitches. Some of the stock assets feel outdated, and the audio tools are limited compared to dedicated sound editors.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It simplifies the full process of creating training videos. I can record, edit, and publish everything in one tool, which saves time. It also improves clarity for learners because I can highlight steps visually and keep instructions consistent.

  ### 49. Long-Time Camtasia User the Good and the Bad

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve D. | Owner - Operator, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Like a favorite pair of shoes, I've been using it since I began creating videos in 2008 so it is very comfortable to set up, record and edit.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

Since I began using Camtasia Studio many years ago, it has continually been updated, and in most cases, this is a good thing. If your machine is not keeping up with the required power upgrades, your Camtasia software will not work properly until you get your machine upgraded.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems Camtasia solves for me is the ability to record my screen with very little issues. Most of the time I can quickly get set up to record in different resolutions because of the presets I'm able to put together within Camtasia.

  ### 50. Teach Creative Professionals genAI for creative workflows, while maintaining the human element!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian S. | AI Catalyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Camtasia?**

Very thorough system for managing the whole process of capturing yourself on video while working with computer application(s) in real-time - including mouse-clicks, responses. It is easy to use from the start, and works around your software without getting in the way (so excellent ease of integration). I use the tool almost daily and have found its functionality, ease of editing very intuitive and powerful for what I need it for. My videos are used both for paid workshops/courses and YouTube video shares.

**What do you dislike about Camtasia?**

When going beyond 20-minutes in a single segment at high resolution + 60 FPS, I have had it on a few different occasions un-sync the sound from the video at multiple points. I am referring to the 2nd camera (the one capturing me in video while teaching.) Limiting the video to 15 minutes and under, I do not have that as a problem.
I do not believe this is a computer problem, as I am running a 2021 iMac Apple M1, 16 GB with only application files on the harddrive and all work files stored to external hard drives.

**What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing an easy way for me to capture in real time the software I am teaching about, while simultaneously being in frame.
