"A Decade of Excellence with Camtasia"
What do you like best about Camtasia?

I appreciate the amazing cost and balanced set of features Camtasia and Audiate offers. It provides just the right amount of capabilities necessary for my work, mainly focused on screen and video capture, without overwhelming me with unnecessary features. This helps me stay efficient without feeling bogged down by too many complexities. I value that despite being feature-packed, Camtasia has managed to maintain simplicity and usefulness. Additionally, the whole Camtasia suite stands out for its ease of use, with an initial setup that is both straightforward and intuitive, making the learning curve virtually non-existent. This ease considerably enhances the user experience by allowing me to focus on creating and editing videos smoothly. Camtasia has continually improved over the decade I've used it, becoming faster, more reliable, and more useful, which reflects its commitment to consistent advancement and reliability. "Makes Video Creation Surprisingly Simple"
What do you like best about Camtasia?

Camtasia features an intuitive and beginner-friendly interface, making screen recording and video editing straightforward, even for those without technical experience. The drag-and-drop timeline, along with built-in transitions, annotations, and cursor effects, helps streamline post-production and saves considerable time. I also value the dependable screen capture quality and the ease with which it connects to external audio and video sources. Overall, it serves as an excellent all-in-one tool for producing tutorials, training videos, and presentations, all without requiring advanced video editing expertise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

The main downside is performance—rendering often takes a considerable amount of time, particularly with high-resolution projects, and the app may lag when handling more complex edits. While the effects library is decent, it does feel somewhat limited. The pricing also seems rather high for individual creators or small teams, and the collaboration features could definitely be improved. Nevertheless, despite these issues, Camtasia continues to be a dependable and easy-to-use choice for most video creation tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Camtasia is a full-featured easy to use video capture and editor program that I use weekly"
What do you like best about Camtasia?

Camtasia offers an intuitive interface that makes video editing easy to learn, even for those who may find advanced editors overwhelming. It includes most of the features found in more complex software, but presents them in a way that feels approachable. The screen recording functionality is especially important, and Camtasia excels in this area. In my role in higher education, Camtasia has proven invaluable for our teachers and development offices as they create learning materials. I use the software every week and value the regular updates and support provided by Techsmith. As an LMS administrator and learning technologies system administrator at a four-year university, I rely on Camtasia to produce training modules, tutorial videos, and quick video responses where I can annotate solutions. When new features are introduced on other platforms, I use Camtasia to record demonstrations and then edit these recordings into polished, professional-looking videos. We share these resources with our faculty and students. I appreciate how easily I can trim and edit both new recordings and existing media, add voice-overs, incorporate animations and annotations, and more. The zoom animation feature, which allows me to focus on specific interface elements, is particularly helpful. Since we have a site license for Camtasia, we provide the software for all faculty and staff at the University. When faculty request a Camtasia license, we provide them a 30-minute one-on-one training session. Our faculty seem to learn how to use Camtasia easily and create their own learning content. They create videos and upload them to our LMS for student viewing. The videos that Techsmith provides are also useful and are in small chunks so anyone learning how to use Camtasia can focus on a particular topic. I like that Camtasia is available for both Mac and Windows since we have users on both operating systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

When editing videos, I sometimes find it challenging to choose the most suitable transition, such as fade or fade through black. Deciding which one to use can be a bit tricky, but overall, this is only a minor concern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly with Powerful Video Editing Tools"
What do you like best about Camtasia?

I find Camtasia incredibly user-friendly, which is essential for someone like me who is not a professional video editor. It allows me to edit my own videos exactly the way I like them, whether for social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook. I particularly appreciate the translation links to many other languages, such as English to Spanish or Spanish to English, which enhances its versatility. Moreover, I love the pre-existing frames integrated into the program for music, pictures, and videos. These frames are readily available and can be used in my video editing projects, making the process much smoother. The initial setup of Camtasia was extraordinarily easy, requiring just two to three clicks to get it running on my computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

Maybe the synchronicity between the captions and the talk video could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Camtasia by TechSmith is such a great video editor!"
What do you like best about Camtasia?

It is an easy, straight forward video editing tool. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a user friendly video editor that isn't limited. Camtasia has great features to help you make visually impactful videos without having to know at the intricate workings of a program like Adobe Premiere. Cool transitions, easy edit features, etc., it's got what you need to make great videos. It's easy to install and learn how to use. I would say my team and I use Camtasia weekly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

I wish I could crop my videos in Camtasia. If I need to zoom in on a clip, I have to expand the video beyond the screen to achieve the zoom. It would also be great if there were more animation options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, Polished Video Creation Tool"
What do you like best about Camtasia?

What I like best about Camtasia is how easy it makes creating polished, professional videos without needing advanced editing skills. As an account manager, I can quickly record product demos, client walkthroughs, or internal training materials and enhance them with annotations, transitions, and callouts. The interface is intuitive, and the built-in screen recording and audio tools save me from switching between multiple apps. It’s a huge time-saver for communicating ideas visually and delivering content that looks sharp and engaging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

What I dislike about Camtasia is that rendering and exporting videos can take a while, especially for longer or high-resolution projects. The file sizes also tend to be quite large, which can make sharing or storing them a bit cumbersome. Additionally, while the editing tools are great for most use cases, they can feel limited if you’re trying to do more advanced effects or animations compared to dedicated video editing software. "My go-to screen recording and tutorial video editor"
What do you like best about Camtasia?

I use Camtasia for creating product video tutorials because its drag-and-drop video editing is very intuitive and user-friendly.

Recording my screen directly through Camtasia gives me access to many advanced features that standard screen recording tools don’t offer.

I also frequently use dynamic captions, which make the videos more engaging and accessible.

If you have ever worked with any video editor before, you will find it really easy to implement and smoothly integrate Camtasia into your daily workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

There aren’t many audio editing options built into Camtasia, so I often have to download separate software for tasks like noise removal, which can be disappointing and disrupts the workflow.

Compared to professional video editors like Adobe Premiere Pro (paid) or DaVinci Resolve (free), Camtasia offers relatively fewer features.

The software has limited support for advanced cinematic effects, making it less suitable for users who want to create high-end, cinematic-quality videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Camtasia is an excellent video editing platform for most of your daily videos"
What do you like best about Camtasia?

It is a fast and cost-effective alternative to higher end software such as Apple's Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. Most of the daily types of video edits don't require these higher end software. I prefer for people on my team to use Camtasia. It actually many more pre-canned features, a lower learning curve, and doesn't require as much expensive hardware to run. For basic editing and dropping content into pre-branded templates, it's quick, fast, and simple to use. I've even worked with people who have lots of experience with the higher end tools but once they see what I'm trying to do they totally start to really appreciate Camtasia and are surprised by all the features it offers new video editors. If you've never done video editing then I highly recommend it. If you are trying to save money across multiple authors then I also recomomend it as a team based platform. I do know how to edit with these other higher end tools but 99% of the time they are overkill. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

Sometimes for longer/larger video files you might have to use some alternative tricks, otherwise it can bog down your system. I highly recommend to max out the amount of memory on your computer and have plenty of disc space for caching. Video editing at higher quality settings can suck up a lot of your system resources, especially when it comes time to do the final rendering and compression. "The Gold Standard for Video Editing and Screen Recording."
What do you like best about Camtasia?

Camtasia is hands-down one of the most intuitive and powerful screen recording and video editing tools available. Whether you're creating training videos, product demos, or instructional content, Camtasia makes the process seamless from start to finish and super easy to learn.

The user interface is clean and beginner-friendly yet packed with professional-grade features. I especially love the drag-and-drop editing, built-in transitions, and the ability to add callouts, quizzes, and animations with just a few clicks. The screen recording quality is excellent, and the audio tools make it easy to clean up narration or add background music.

One of Camtasia’s standout features is its interactivity—you can embed clickable links, quizzes, and table of contents elements that make your videos more engaging and effective. Plus, the export options are flexible and optimized for various platforms, from YouTube to your LMS.

TechSmith also provides outstanding support and tutorials, which makes onboarding and troubleshooting a breeze.

If you're looking for a reliable, all-in-one solution for creating polished, professional videos without a steep learning curve, Camtasia is the way to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

It can lag a little when editing longer videos, but breaking them down will help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
