I like that the Fidelity CFD Platform is high performance computational fluid dynamics software for accurate and efficient simulations of fluid and thermal systems. I appreciate how it reduces development time and facilitates the early evaluation of the performance of components in terms of fluids and thermal efficiency. The solver and workflow for setting up problem statements are smooth and easy to understand compared to other products in the market, and the integration with Beta CAE's ANSA enhances meshing capabilities. The tool's solver is robust, strong enough to handle complex multi-physics problems with ease, and the step-wise workflow is easy for beginners. ANSA is a strong pre- and post-processor tool that can handle large assemblies and complex geometries with cleaner and reliable meshes. It's also easy to set up on Windows. My team and I are happy with the software and the support we receive from the company.

The initial investment in learning the tool is high, especially for someone without prior experience in CFD and tools. It requires a high-spec computer or HPC to run the solver efficiently. Fidelity's own meshing and preprocessor capabilities are limited, and the UI needs much improvement in terms of setup, icons, and case handling and settings for simulations.

Additionally, the solver speed and accuracy for high-fidelity simulations—especially when leveraging GPU acceleration—are impressive. The integration of the various tools into a single, unified platform significantly streamlines the workflow from preprocessing to post-processing, making design iterations much faster and more intuitive.

What I dislike most about Fidelity CFD is the steep learning curve required to master its advanced scripting and custom macro environments. While the unified user interface is improving, users transitioning from legacy NUMECA tools (like FINE/Turbo) can find the workflow changes somewhat disruptive initially.
Additionally, the licensing cost can be quite high for smaller engineering firms or specialized teams. The advanced physics models and optimization modules are excellent, but setting them up requires extensive domain expertise, and the documentation could sometimes benefit from more deep-dive, practical tutorials for edge-case scenarios.

It’s great for CFD simulations. I like the airflow analysis and hotspot validation, and it also lets us do cooling optimization. We can simulate fluid-flow problems easily.

The setup phase—like configuring the missing factors and solvers—is a bit time-consuming. I was expecting some AI support here, where auto chat or data fetching could be used to speed things up. Also, one more thing: the time it takes is literally more than I expected.

Fidelity CFD software is very user friendly and easy to use. I have been able to swap from using STARCCM as my primary CFD tool to using fidelity with little issues since it is very simple to grasp. Using the software regularly has enabled me to create a very refined modelling process which the software allows due to the easy integration of various processes.

My main issue with the software is the lack of CAD support. This means any cleanup of models must be done externally, which starccm and ANSYS both offer. I can understand the lack of this due to the higher cost of those systems however it is a very useful tool to have and greatly saves time. Additionally there are limits to physics models which means for certain applications this software isn't viable.

I love the meshing capabilities in the Fidelity CFD Platform, they are very good and save a lot of time. The system's support for many types of meshes significantly reduces errors. I also liked the system's speed in parallel processing and automated meshing compared to other systems I have used, such as Ansys Fluent. Additionally, the high accuracy in details like fan blades and ventilation openings makes the results precise and reliable.

**What do you dislike about Fidelity CFD Platform?**

It's a bit complicated for beginners because it's high-end and has many features. I suggest having a smart guidance system so that the beginner knows step by step what to do with the Simulation settings, and it also provides default settings faster in case the engineer doesn't know anything about the system. The Parallel Computing was a bit complex.

I really like the end-to-end solution that Fidelity CFD Platform provides, from importing geometry to viewing final results of my workflow. The accurate results for complex problems like turbulence stand out to me, and the platform offers sufficient performance in terms of speed and accuracy for my complex simulations. It's easy to import designs with minimal effort, and the accurate turbulence modeling really helps in simulating real-world scenarios like flying planes. The initial setup was also straightforward and easy to follow according to the user manual.

I believe in the rising HPC era where computational power and time are critical in defining accuracy and time. Hence, performance and speed can be improved, the quality of input data and the overall UI/UX needs to be up to date with the state of the art GUI. Every aircraft must be certified by the governing agency to ensure accuracy and robustness and hence the simulation software providers must ensure their software offers the best trade-off between performance, power, and cost. UI/UX on the other hand is a significant factor in drawing customers' attention and their willingness to switch from already existing software/hardware infrastructure. Hence these two aspects need urgent attention.
