It helps teams control CAD files, manage revisions, prevent accidental overwrites, and keep engineers working from the correct version of their design data. Its native Windows desktop app connects engineers’ existing local CAD workflows with secure cloud PDM, providing desktop-to-cloud file synchronization, check-in/check-out, revision history, controlled access, and release and approval workflows— without requiring teams to replace their existing CAD tools. CAD ROOMS supports more than 35 CAD file formats across software ecosystems including SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX, CATIA, Creo, Rhino, and AutoCAD, as well as common neutral formats. Unlike CAD-vendor-specific PDM systems, it enables teams to manage engineering data from multiple CAD ecosystems in one consistent workflow. What I like most about CAD ROOMS is that it can open and manage different CAD file formats in one place, so we don’t need separate software just to view each file. Files open quickly, and it’s easy to find the latest version and keep track of design changes. The interface is straightforward and friendly even for people who don’t use CAD every day. The free viewer access is especially useful because suppliers can review files without needing the same CAD software or an additional paid license. It was also quick to get started with, which saves me time and makes day-to-day collaboration much simpler. **What do you dislike about CAD ROOMS?** There’s not much I dislike so far. A minor improvement would be multi-file sharing. It would make sending related files to suppliers even easier. **What problems is CAD ROOMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before using CAD ROOMS, files from SolidWorks and Inventor were stored in different folders and shared by email, making it difficult to identify the latest version and track design changes. CAD ROOMS keeps everything in one place with clear version and revision history.
