## Butter CMS Reviews
  ### 1. Amazing Customer Support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valeria M. | Marketing Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I love how easy it is to use, I was able to learn my way around the platform very quickly and easily. I especially love the Butter Support Team, they have done an amazing job in helping us make big changes that would have taken us forever to do without their help. They always get back to me in a very timely manner which I greatly appreciate. Nikki in particular is so very kind and has been a tremendous help in helping us overcome obstacles.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I have yet to experience anything I don't like about butter. We have been able to accomplish everything we need without any issues.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to publish our content very easily. We are able to publish Blogs, E-books, Glossary pages, and more! Our team produces a ton of content so butter makes it pleasantly simple to put those together and schedule them out to publish on our site.

  ### 2. 很棒的产品，使用方便。

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aisara B. | CSM for APAC region, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

网站本地化。
我需要将我们的网站从英语翻译成中文。使用起来非常简单，并且在翻译过程中我可以随时预览网站，这样当我发现有问题时可以立即进行编辑。

  ### 3. Solid tool with great customer service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

As a developer, working with a headless CMS has been great. I haven't had any issues with performance or reliability, and customer service has been incredibly helpful.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

There are a few additional features that would be nice, but in my experience with a few other CMS options, Butter isn't behind the times at all.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have multiple places on our site that require somewhat frequent content changes. These would be a pain in the butt for me, as a developer, to maintain. With Butter, I was able to set up those pages so that my non-tech team can be in complete control of the content.

  ### 4. Great tool for SEO and copy related marketing changes without compromising on FE engineering

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mushfiq R. | Growth Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

As a marketer, the thing I like most is the fact that I can quickly make changes to copy and SEO related content really quickly in a completely custom website, cutting out the engineering work that would previously have been needed. IN addition, if we need more customizable components on a site, engineering can quickly addd them as well.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Can't say I am a fan of the internal UX for making changes.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was not able to rpeviouslty make updates to a custom site without getting FE involved. Now I can. This means that we can get marketing changes pushed to production much faster.

  ### 5. Reliable CMS service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

God, I love butter! It was a straightforward enough system to write blog content on: i could integrate other media, carry out basic formatting etc. Wow! it was simple to view all the content I had written too!

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Nothing. It was fantastic! Though I haven't use it a lot; I probably need to use it a bit more to find anything that really bugged me. I don't know what I'm doing tbh.

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

Do it! Do it! Do it!

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I only use it to write blog content. So it helped me add that to our website. I'm so grateful! There were quite a few issues between butter and our website showing things properly, but that's a fault on our end! How silly!

  ### 6. Quick to integrate, flexible headless CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan M. | VP, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter CMS provides a range of easy-to-use client libraries and a REST API for developers. The team is very responsive to questions or concerns.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Over the years, we've seen some performance issues with the API when using advanced features. Their support team has been quick to investigate and support in these instances.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ButterCMS helps us to provide a simple-to-use WYSIWIG for content creators to avoid needing a technical resource to publish new copy or images on our site.

  ### 7. Great product, AMAZING customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary R. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Very responsive customer service. Butter CMS has made me feel like they value feedback and really want to help me succeed with their product. I asked a question, and they responded quickly, made some suggestions, and even arranged a Zoom meeting to discuss my needs in detail. They even decided to implement a feature that I requested, and kept communicating with me through the process. I've never experienced that from a company before. That service builds loyalty, because even if there's a bug or feature that doesn't exist, I have confidence that they will listen to me and try to help me find a solution.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The api is less complete than I was hoping for. (But that's getting better!)

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it to store dynamic content for our app, so we can change lots of things w/o needing to do an app update. The UI is very simple and easy to coordinate with team members

  ### 8. Great way to implement CMS for your site

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon R. | Product Owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS is very intuitive and allows different people across the company to make changes on the live website without having to make any code changes and that's brilliant.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

There could be a way to nest components and to duplicate them, to allow for more flexibility.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Small copy changes would require an engineer spending hours to make the changes, have them approved and deployed. Now with ButterCMS that can happen instantly.
ButterCMS is also a modern way to organise our site and test different variants.

  ### 9. Butter is a fantastic content management system backed with a team that's quick to help when needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff D. | Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter gives our team the ability to use a wide range of configurations and images for content and keep them separate for each of our customers in an easy to manage way.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I don't really have anything I disike too much

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter has helped us quickly change content across a variety of websites and then clone the progress that we've made whenever needed for additional sites

  ### 10. Easy to use and works great with Ruby/Jekyll stack

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

As a developer, I used butter as a CMS to integrate with a Ruby/Jekyll stack. The documentation was easy enough to follow and the content comes in an easy to manipulate format. This made it great to fully customise the pages I was working on. It made it a lot easier to create new style of pages with great content.
As a content creator, Butter is great and super easy to use to create website pages, blog posts and also update pre-existing content. The non-technical people I worked with found it a breeze to learn and use.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I think I would have liked more documentation into how to integrate at the beginning. There was a little bit to figure out.
When I would research, I would find many blog articles from Butter explaining about "being able" to do these things, but not so much as to "how".

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

If you are creating a website for blog posts or articles, definitely use ButterCMS.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Definitely getting non technical people, able to create content on the website, without having to use confusing applications or even dive into the code itself.
The Auto-updates from an API driven solution is also a plus.

  ### 11. Super CMS Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave B. | Operations Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The best CMS platform we have come across. Easy to use and navigate. Simple API integration. Great language support and super fast technical support team!

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

We haven't seen anything to dislike with Butter CMS.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content changes are quick and easy. We can support multiple sites and integrate with our own systems easily and securely.

  ### 12. Perfect way to save time and effort!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam C. | Frontend Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS helps to save the time and effort of developers by removing the requirements of making deployments and allowing our marketing teams to make updates to our site quickly. The system has been well developed, making it seamless for developers to create components that non-technical staff can understand and translate into details for our site. The support team has quickly dealt with any issues that have arisen.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Signup was confusing when I accidentally signed up with my account instead of waiting for my company to invite me. The superb support team quickly rectified this!

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It removes the requirement of developers to make changes to the site and therefore saving time and effort for developers.
Allows marketing teams to make immediate changes to the site and rearrange it as they see fit.

  ### 13. "Butter CMS is an amazing tool that will make your life easier!!!"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Albert F. | Software engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

It is a very user-friendly tool with an excellent interface. Even if it is the first time you use it, you will find your way around very quickly and make use of its many features.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

It is a fantastic tool used mainly by team members without coding experience. Coding experience is not needed; how awesome is that! So I might need to use more to find some negatives.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is extremely easy to create or update content with Butter CMS. This means the speed when pushing into production drastically improves, and the team can invest their time in other tasks.

  ### 14. As a developer, it's great to hand over content management to our marketing team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

It's super easy to setup and use in development, setting up keys to identify content, and quickly viewing a example response from the api buttercms dashboard gives you confidence to implement the calls in your codebase and map the data structures to the relevant places.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

We haven't run into anything problematic just yet! :)

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've decoupled the addition/updating of marketing/dynamic content from our different teams, from something that only the development team would be able to do previously with new releases, to something the marketing team can do at any moment.

  ### 15. The Headless CMS provides so much

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The customer support team is highly responsive and willing to help me in any way. Especially when it comes to data migration from one environment to another environment, They are more than just helpful.
Friendly UI to manage contents

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

IT would be great if there's a way to migrate content without asking the customer support team. But Them being available to me and supportive was super helpful.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynamic content with simplicity to support SEO without having to re-deploy our apps, I could change the customer-facing content quickly with a friendly UI that enables non-technical people to manage the platform.

  ### 16. My Experience with Butter CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The UI is quite intuitive, clear, and neat. Customer support is beneficial and friendly.
APIs such as 'write' and 'image' are helpful.
The preview feature is pretty cool.
There was a solution for every feature we wanted to implement.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Butter CMS is alright in every way. Having a root preview URL without slugs is something that can be nice.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy content management with control of meta description and SEO.
Managing icons from one source.
Having a preview of the data before actually integrating it.

  ### 17. Appreciated using ButterCMS for our website

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlene B. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Our company's experience with ButterCMS was excellent. Our website was hardcoded and we decided to add content and resources long after we originally set it up. It made it so much easier to get started with content and SEO without having to do additional coding. I recommend them to others in a similar situation.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

No complaints. We didn't find anything missing from the product.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As above, it made it easier to get started with SEO and content marketing for our site. Our domain authority increased a LOT once we started producing content through ButterCMS.

  ### 18. Easy to use headless CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The seamless Ruby on Rails integration with code samples.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I wish the lowest plan was maybe a little cheaper...

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The backend CMS part of it is super robust like Wordpress, with the ability to completely customize your front-end.

  ### 19. Really great CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna T. | Product Operatinos, Market Research, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter CMS has a very user-friendly interface. It’s easy to add and work on content pages for our website. I really love their language options, which makes the localization process much easier.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Nothing so far. I will edit my comment later if I find anything.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Butter to add and edit content to our company's website.

  ### 20. 1 Year of use. Pretty good CMS and SEO.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Currently doing sales and marketing and I have to say changing a few contents here and there helped my day today. The option to customize a few areas is key, that key has helped us during the tenure we had with it.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

We haven't faced any real issues. The odd bug but nothing like a good ole refresh fixes that. We did have one issue but realized we haven't turned off our computer for almost 4 days. So we just restarted it and everything was fine.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WeIt helped our sales and marketing solve complex content while keeping the content up to date. It helped us keep the retention #s with areas to concentrate growth.

  ### 21. Easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Addie W. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter is very intuitive and easy to navigate. Their customer service is responsive and helpful. It's easy to integrate their blog with your own website. It's white labeled so your customers don't rven know.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

No complaints from me. I was happy with the software.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helpful us have a customized blog on our site without doing the coding ourselves.

  ### 22. Used for 2 Years with Great Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jedidiah W. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Super easy to integrate - development team loved it. Very straight forward back-end management system for design team.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

We didn't really find any - if you need a custom solution it's better to use this type of headless CMS.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a back-end for our custom Progressive Web App for OpenForge.

  ### 23. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Configuration of Butter is pretty simple and straightforward. We are able to use it to essentially maintain multiple versions of our app by customizing content for specific clients. As a Product Manager, it saves a lot of time for my engineers as I can go in and update/change items myself instead of relying on them to alter hardcoded copy.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

We primarily use the Collection function, and there are a couple things that are just a bit annoying about it. Nothing that we can't work around, but:
1. Because we have a lot of content in some of our collections, it sometimes takes a while for them to all load and I have to refresh a few times.
2. You can't open items in a new tab. If you want to view multiple items at the same time for editing or to compare configurations, you have to use "inspect" to get the URLs to open items in a new tab.
3. There's no export option for items.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynamic content in our app, language localization, reducing reliance on engineers for content changes.

  ### 24. A breath of fresh air in the CMS world, once you go headless with butter you'll never go back.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I've developed in nearly every legacy CMS from Umbraco to Wordpress and drupal to e-comm specific CMS's like Shopify and Magento... but once you go headless, it is so hard to go back.

Before Butter I even dipped my toe in the water with Contentful and other legacy CMS that claim to have headless capability (looking at your Drupal) but I eventually settled on Butter. Butter has one of the cleanest and easy-to-use API's on the market and a good balance between price and functionality, without the bloat of the past (headless drupal). Butter also has SDK's available for a whole host of languages making it even quicker to get to market. While Contentful does have more features at the present time, but it has the cost to come with it. While Butter does cater to larger companies, they are also more accessible in terms of price points than several of their competitors (Contentful included).

Update and Improvements are also coming on at a good steady pace.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

- It would be nice to have some additional "pages" vs price points across all their plans... contentful offers 25k "objects" even on their free tier.
- A plug-in or Marketplace of add-ins would be nice to extend the capability of the CMS on the backend. E.g. SEO plugins, writing assistants, DAM's or Dropbox for asset upload etc.
- Would be nice to have proxied DNS for CDN locations for images/assets etc, to improve the appearance and make it easier to re-wrap Butter into API's of our product.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- easy separation of concerns between content, code, and design/templates.
- marketer and developer-friendly.

  ### 25. Very helpful for marketing management!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley N. | G, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter CMS has helped speed up our web workflow tremendously! The program allows our marketing team to make quick image and copy edits to keep our site fresh and up-to-date.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

One improvement that I think would be helpful for me is if the tool could crop and resize images to the needed specs.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter CMS lets our IT team focus on larger web projects that will improve our site as a whole.

  ### 26. ButterCMS is fantastic! Super flexible.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsey R. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS is easy to use for everything. We built our site on Jekyll, and then we use Butter to interface the editing for every single page. Regardless of the type of page, we can use Butter to interface with it, so our marketers can change the text. Home pages/blog pages/etc. anything. We can easily use the source code feature to write in add-ons such as calendly, or signup forms, so we can even build those kinds of pages easily.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Page limits! We hit the page limit a few times, and had to upgrade. Our strategies are really ambitious though - we're talking 10,000 pages or so. However, in butter's defense, they reached out to give us a special deal on mass-produced pages, and they reached out to offer that without us even asking. So good job guys!

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem butter solves is it gives marketers the ability to edit webpages made of any design. So it's not only blog pages, but all pages. It also is a great blog editor.

  ### 27. It's an easy-to-use headless CMS with great DX

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmytro U. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

- Easy to set up a development integration and moreover it's easy to use (our stack is React & TypeScript)
- ButterCMS gives us the flexibility to work with our content the way we need (e.g it can be a small section with just some button/input labels or it can be the whole page with lots of different components and SEO metadata)
- Simple friendly UI/UX

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I love the component feature, but it feels like it lacks some kind of centralized place, where you can manage all your components. Also when a user makes some breaking change in the component structure it would be great to have the ability to interactively go through each usage to do patches.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a lot of pages with dynamic content that can be easily updated without developer involvement.
It's worth mentioning that the component feature is a real deal!

  ### 28. Very developer-friendly headless CMS, on multiple points!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zoran L. | Tech lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Before ButterCMS we were using Wordpress with the ACF plugin to store data for our marketing website.
And our dev team needed to spend a lot of time in WP to create pages, adjust fields and then pull the data through the APIs.

What I really like about ButterCMS is that our marketing team managed to really quickly understand and learn ButterCMS and after first setup from the dev team, now they are able to create their own pages and collections without devs involved. Which really saves a lot of time for developer where they can focus on actual development and not content creation.

The second part is their APIs which are really easy to understand and use. We were able to pull the data in a couple of minutes without any strange or unexpected results.

Would really recommend this CMS to any team who want to quickly and efficiently develop their marketing websites.

And their support is top notch!

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

These are not dislikes but more like "would be nice to have feature" (or wishlist for future development):
- can't move content between environments
- can't add an existing page to the page type
- although you can have multiple workspaces, what I'm missing is pagination on the workspace (some workspace can have a lot of collections)
- more content filtering options on the API calls
- when updating component in the library, all page which is using that component should be updated (not just pages with the same type)
- missing custom fields on the blog posts

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

If you're migration from some existing CMS, make sure that you ask all the questions as ButterCMS support is really great and they'll be able to answer all your questions.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've migrated our marketing website from the Wordpress to ButterCMS as we've realised that by migrating we'll be resolving couple of things:
- marketing team will be finally able to create content on their own
- we won't need to run separate server to host our files (images, documents, videos)
- we won't need to run separate CDN
- all data will be in one place (previously some data was in Wordpress while other data was in our CRM)

  ### 29. Great headless CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel K. | Senior Frontend Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I like the interface. It's very clear and intuitive. Everything is described in the documentation. Also the API is very simple to use.
Using Butter as a CMS we were able to create rich blog (with categories, tags, multi-language), but also we built a documentation for our application with menu, which is generated directly from the CMS. Using this app you have great opportunities to built something awesome!
And they have integration with a Filestack. It means that you can optimize your images very easily!
Also ButterCMS has a great support team. They are always willing to help. I really appreciate it. And they react very quickly when there is some issue on their side (very rarely).

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS have great search engine, but it works only for blog posts. It would be good to have this rich search functionality also for pages.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We created a multi-language blog, documentation and other dynamic pages, which can be modified in the butterCMS without developers help. It's great solution when you want to update your data on the website and you are not a software engineer.

  ### 30. ButterCMS - Its not your Dad's CMS!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rich D. | IT Consultant / Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

•	ButterCMS is a flexible headless CMS, which allows the front end to be completely decoupled from the backend datastore
        o	Its not WordPress! lol
•	Content response times are superfast, this should translate into improved scalability (our site is still in the development phase so we have not tested for that yet)
•	Page types are a nice feature as you are able to model the page content and can be as rigid or as flexible with the content by using predefined fields and components (rigid) and with the use of the component picker, you can introduce some flexibility by allowing the authors to add predefined components to the page
•	I have used the write API, and this is a very nice feature for importing content.
o	That said as mentioned before the documentation is a bit lacking and the write API is not integrated into the SDK. I extended some of the SDK classes to make my own write SDK
•	Chat support is great, Nikki and the others are super helpful and quick to respond
•	The team is super open to feedback on product suggestions
•	Overall, it’s a good product, it works, its easy to work with once you wrap your head around the idea of a headless CMS, so far in our implementation of Butter there really hasn’t been anything that I haven’t been able to do

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

•	The inability to move content between environments is probably the biggest limitation.
•	Building navigation bars using collections is a bit cumbersome if you have a large number of menu options.
•	Including the write API in the SDK (as mentioned above) would be nice, but I was able to work around it
•	The interface is very spacious, that said on very long page there is a LOT of scrolling to get to the content section and not every content item is collapsible.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problem being solved is we want a decoupled CMS that can support multiple brand sites under a single parent umbrella therefore:

•	Improving consistency between brands and Markets (we operate in 60+ countries)
•	Reduce or eliminate the reliance on the internally developed CMS
•	Reduce support issues and maintenance cost relating to the internally developed CMS
•	Consolidate multiple web properties into a single site
•	Consolidate and replace all instances of WordPresss

The project is still in development, so the benefits have not yet been realized.

  ### 31. Great customer service - always

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

As admin, using ButterCMS to manage a website and blog is straightforward and easy. Our dev team enjoyed working with their technology, and any changes I need to have implemented can be done so quickly. But the absolute best is the personal touch and responsiveness of the support team. Even when we've struggled with some issue, they went above and beyond the help.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The platform requires more technical knowledge to implement changes, but that's what the developers are for.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website and blog management.

  ### 32. Functional, simple and fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felix G. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Our team can separate concerns; developers focus on developing, writers focurs on writing, and so...

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Overall the tool is incredible; however, it can sometimes take a few milliseconds too long to load initially.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our goal was to write articles and small texts without touching the code; in a simple way and fast enough for constant changes. Butter is helping us achieve that.

  ### 33. ButterCMS makes it easy for me as a Content Manager to distribute blog posts to our community.

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The simple user interface makes it easy to manage content.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Looking at the preview link if a blog post can sometimes be a hassle.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have any experience as a dev, but I can easily make changes to certain parts of the website.

  ### 34. Great Headless CMS

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Easy to use. Nice UI. Lots of features. Ability to create reusable components.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Moving content and schemas between staging and production has to be done manually.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it as our content and cdn for assets for our production application. It makes it very easy to make updates to our websites.

  ### 35. Great Headless CMS!

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

- Easy to set up.
- Very flexible and customizable.
- Customer service reply quickly and will accommodate most of the customer's specific needs.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

It would be great to add in feature to move content between environments.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't have to deploy to production for simple copy changes, but we can just easily change them from butterCMS without any hassle.

  ### 36. Great platform! Easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carolyn H. | Marketing Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The best thing about Butter is that it's so easy to use. The layout is very simple and easy to navigate. If any problems come up, their team has incredibly fast response times. Nikki was super helpful and friendly.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I have yet to come across a downside with the platform. Any questions I've had were immediately answered on the chat.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter allows the company I work for to post blogs on our website. Our company blog is the driving force behind our marketing team. It's great that Butter allows our entire team to be on the same page as far as what is published and what is scheduled.

  ### 37. Had to drop my account, but will be back

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The interface is seamless and simple to use. Everything is extremely well laid out and easy to find what you need to find. Integration to a vuejs instance was simple. Amazing documentation

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Really, I disliked nothing. Just not using a blog for our company anymore. But if you use a js framework then there is no other better option

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy simple blog engine with backend cms. Allows a blogger to focus on writing and not diving in code

  ### 38. Platform Agnostic Conent Done Right

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Adding content to whatever framework you want is extremely easy with ButterCMS. I am very impressed with this workflow, and will recommend ButterCMS in the future.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

There are certain features that are missing that would be desireable, but Nikki from ButterCMS is extremely welcoming on any feature requests, so I feel assured that feedback is listened to and considered.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to create a generalized PageType with a bunch of "components" (writeable data groupings) that can be added to a "page" at will. Through this, we created complementing React components that would render each of these page components and consumed them in a constructor that would then render them in the order added in ButterCMS. This allows us to create any page we want via Butter, and then it will immediately be added to our website.

  ### 39. How a headless CMS should be

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Before Butter, we were locked into a self-hosted solution that commanded regular updates, plugin management, and a learning curve for any new joiners within our team reading documentation to get up to speed.

We have just completed a website redesign project with ButterCMS as its backbone, one major plus we noticed from the get-go is the fact collections make it really easy to share data across the content platform. Our website is based on a component architecture and that was easily replicated in Butter using the component library, this was further advanced by re-using collections and for us, this has meant colors, image sizes, and other re-usable elements can be shared so our content editors can create pages quickly.

From a technical point of view, we were able to get up and running in a matter of minutes using the API documentation and the ButterClient, after finding our feet using collections we were able to build a scalable architecture based on a React app. Since our website is built around component design, we now have a bunch of styled-components that allow any new pages to be quickly built up and deployed in minutes. This is mirrored in ButterCMS and therefore allows our content editors to build pages, send us the link and within minutes the page is created and live.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

One of the biggest issues we're facing right now is the speed of the backend dashboard, this may be due to the number of collections we're running in order to create re-use of content across the platform. With that said the time-savings we get from architecting our content in this way far outway the degradation in the admin. It would be nice to see an easier way to manage collections to help page load times increase when managing content on the platform.

Our second biggest gripe could be again down to how we've architected our solution, but since our components are mirrored both in code and the Butter component library it has meant when content editors build pages they are utilizing the drag and drop interface for the type builder. This process has two issues:

- The first being that once a component is created, it cannot be updated, you are required to first add the component to a new/existing page, remove it from the component library, add your new field and then save it as a new component. It would be great if components could be edited which leads to our next issue (which is also true of page type configurations as well).

- Secondly, if you edit a component that has been used on a page to add/remove a field this is then not reflected across all components where this instance is used. It would be great if the component schema could be shared across the board and those instances were used listed on the update to confirm where the changes will take effect.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main issues we solved using butter was to migrate away from the old age problem or developing our own in-house CMS or absorbing the cost of licensing, running, and training our team on a platform that changed regularly. With Butter we're able to use our own architecture, coding standards and share content across multiple platforms from a single source.

  ### 40. Butter CMS is fantastic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I like the easy to use page design functionality. It is super intuitive and works great. Additionally, when a certain aspect of the preview functionality wasn't working correctly with out setup (and this had to do with an issue that was specific to our existing website), Butter CMS Made a code change to fix our problem in UNDER 3 DAYS. This just shows their incredible customer service and willingness to do whatever it takes to meet your needs.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The only qualm I have about this software is the inability to push content from stage->production. Although, this can be overcome by simply creating a draft of your page on production, and waiting to publish it, it would be ideal to be able to work on stage, then push any content to prod. (You can push schema from stage to prod, but not page content)

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving the problems we were facing by using an outdated inefficient CMS, we have realized improved user experience from our customers, as well as an easier to manage CMS.

  ### 41. Easy to use, nice UI/UX, easy api endpoints

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The best feature I like is page type (page schema), where you can easily create and manage multiple pages through a single schema.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Only thing I disklike the most is you can upload single image at a time

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter CMS help us to solve our SEO problem by combining two subdomains (info site and main application)

  ### 42. Great CMS with Excellent Customer Service

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

No real downsides to ButterCMS; it does everything we need it to.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a CMS to house all our content that had fast load times and didn't need a lot of development time to implement. ButterCMS fit the bill perfectly.

  ### 43. Easy to use and great for our content needs

- Logical, simple and clean interface makes it really easy to publish content
- Working with our devs, we've been able to customise the back end to suit our needs
- So much quicker than previous system!

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

- May seem simplistic if you're used to something like Wordpress, but stick with it!

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's managing our on-site content, from our static pages to blog content. Easy to load information, organise it and quick to publish, which is great in a fast-paced content environment!

  ### 44. It is exactly what we needed to move content management to Marketing

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS design is straight forward, easy to implement with fast API calls. Our admin people picked it almost immediately for day-to-day content changes via the online UI. They love see results immediately without IT support.
The ButterCMS support team is excellent, fast and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The online UI could use some polishing including an option of a more detailed view of the various components such as a collection lists.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Off-loading content maintenance to our users is a real time saver for the developers.

  ### 45. Powerfull, efficient & easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fred D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I don't know where to start... I like it all! If I have to choose, I like the components in the Pages the most. I like how I can re-use page components. Second, I like how versatile the Collections are.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I may want to see more columns on my Collections view.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So many problems. We have quite a big Frontend system with upto 5 platforms running on the same API. ButterCMS helps us to minimize our platforms from 5 to 3. We want to have fewer platforms to manage all our content, and ButterCMS fulfils that need.

  ### 46. Perfect content management platform

  ### 47. I would definitely recommend this website to anyone who needs surveys filled out!

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I had no issues using this website. Everything was ok.

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

I would recommend this site to those that want product reviews.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it to do product review surveys for clients

  ### 48. User friendly headless CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Application Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS gives the flexibility to decouple from the traditional cms workflow. For me, this provides the ability for a more rapid development cycle and the ability to present multiple front-end designs using the same page data. Also, having the ability to integrate with any additional software is a breeze when using ButterCMS. You are no longer locked into a specific set of plugins/technologies or integrations that a more traditional CMS would provide. A very "Buttery" user experience that I look forward to using every time.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The ability to create reusable components within the ButterCMS GUI is great, but the ui/workflow for the process is a bit lackluster. There should be a menu item for a component builder. Each component could act as a master component. When a "master" component is updated, the user could be prompted to inflict the change on all implementations of the component or selectively change the implementations of them as needed.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter is allowing my company to decouple from the traditional cms workflow. This is allowing for unlimited integration possibilities without being dependant on the integrations allowed by other non-headless CMS options on the market. This is a powerful benefit because we now control what software we can integrate with.

  ### 49. ButterCMS is easy to use, and customer service is great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shane W. | F, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The platform is very easy to use. We built our entire SaaS off of there API. In the few times I wasn’t able to figure something out, there support guided me through the entire process.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Not much to be said here. I wish they had some stronger filters on their API. I hope these are coming soon.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to create a SaaS with no backend. Using their CMS API I was able to create an entire SaaS with not a single line of backend code or infrastructure.

  ### 50. Exactly what we needed w/ great customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

It was really easy to get started and retrieve some response from the api.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I wish there's a way to get a timestamp of every publish, and the ability to revert back to a specific timestamp to restore previous changes.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an easy way for administrators to update the content w/o needing to push code to our repo, and butter CMS provided that.
