5. Butter CMS is a flexible content management system that offers reasonable price, making it a good option for new enterprises and those on a tight budget.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

1. Butter CMS's limited feature set in comparison to other content management systems may not be sufficient for more complicated websites.

2. The insufficiency of third-party plugins for Butter CMS may restrict its capacity to meet certain needs.

3. As Butter CMS does not come equipped with its own analytics features, customers will need to rely on a third-party service for this purpose.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter CMS is very adaptable because of the extensive configuration possibilities it provides. This paves the way for a more tailored and efficient website, which in turn may increase user involvement and yield better outcomes.

  ### 2. Simplicity at its best

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swapnil P. | Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter CMS has really helped in providing flexibility in updating our website content without any tech intervention. The interface is seamless and very easy to configure. Moreover, customer service is very prompt to fix any issue or to understand any features. You can totally rely on butter for all your CMS needs. The configuration interface of butter is very flexible and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

1. Butter has been a massive help in updating our marketing side without tech intervention, however, there is one thing where we have faced challenges. When we update any collection content, we have to publish the parent page where the collection is used to ensure the updated content shows on a live environment. We use caching, so the cache doesn’t clear if the parent page is not published. When you don’t know how many places a collection has been used it gets challenging.

2. Having separate instances of ButterCMS for different environments such as development, staging, and production can prove advantageous. Although it is possible, currently there is no straightforward method for promoting or synchronizing one development environment to the next. Implementing a diff tool to show changes from one save to the next would make the process more manageable.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Buttercms for content management. It is helping us design schema for various components which can be easily created on butter with validations and proper informative text.

  ### 3. Partner.Co ButterCMS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Ease of use and ability to localize for other markets

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Searching collections is difficult sometimes. Having to manually copy content to other locales one at a time.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate how closely they work with the dev team to find ways to manage content better.

  ### 4. Great CMS Platform for any level!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Pablo C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Very easy to get started and alows you to scale as your business grows.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Would like to see more integrations for ecommerce and other usecases.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows me to manage content without worrying about logic.

  ### 5. You don't need to be a developer to Make and Manage Websites for Blogs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel D. | Technical Architect, Information Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I like that it makes it easy to create a website and use it to create a blog and online store. Butter CMS is a flexible platform for creating and managing a website. It uses an API-based approach that makes it easy to integrate it with any framework or programming language. This makes it a great tool for creating a blog and online store, as well as managing any type of content.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Butter CMS does not have all the advanced features and is expensive

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The advantages are that you do not need any special knowledge to use this program. CMS is a content management system (CMS) designed to be easy to use for people without special technical knowledge. This means that you don't need to be a developer or have great programming experience to use Butter CMS. Some of the other benefits of using Butter CMS are that it can be easy to install, customized to suit your specific needs, and help you organize and manage your site's content more easily.

  ### 6. Easy to implement an use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad S. | Team Lead | Front-End Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

After a fair amount of research, ButterCms ended up being our choice to move forward with a new CMS. The implementation was simple and intuitive, with plenty of documentation for support. I like the simplicity of the user interface, the flexibility to create solutions that are tailored to our needs, and the responsiveness of their team when we have questions. I would highly recommend ButterCms.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

It would be beneficial to have different instances of ButterCms for the different environments (development, staging, production), which is available, but is unusable until there is a simple way to promote or sync one development environment to the next. Perhaps a diff tool that indicates what has changed from one save to the next.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previously used a platform that included a CMS, but it was rigid and made it more difficult to create custom functionality. Using a headless CMS like ButterCms has made the things much more flexible and easy to work with.

  ### 7. Butter CMS has been a great solution for a global direct sales company

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyson S. | Senior Director Web Develompent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

In my opinion, one of the best things about Butter CMS is their customer support. They are always super responsive and willing to work through issues with us, whether they are solvable in the moment or whether a new feature request needs to be added to their roadmap. Our account manager is communicating with us regularly on any needs, questions, or concerns, and has been willing to set a meeting whenever we've needed a more thorough discussion.

Another great thing about Butter is the user interface and experience. We migrated to Butter from a legacy CMS system, and our users have really enjoyed it. Training is much simpler and easier due to their interface, which has cut down on our onboarding time required to get new users up and running.

Last but not least, Butter is continually evolving and improving their product. There have been a lot of features and improvements done over the last 1-2 years while we've been using it, some of which include: speed improvements to their interface, media library feature additions, improvements to schema building and creation, more granular access controls, write API improvements regarding setting reference fields, read API specificy improvements on queries, the list goes on. It is awesome to be using a product that is constantly evolving due to their ability to listen to customers and take action on any feedback.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

There haven't been too many downsides using Butter over the last 1-2 years, but here are a few things that could have been better:

1. For a global business model like ours, we saw Page duplication as a bug versus a feature. For example, with a presence in 75 different markets globally, we have a variety of products available in different markets. When a product Page type is created, it is duplicated to every other locale. In some instances, this can be a great feature (pages that apply to every market). However, with products specifically, this caused a lot of unnecessary duplication in the system and has made it difficult to navigate product directories. We have partially solved this with an organizational change in our site structure within Butter, and continue to improve on this solution to this issue.
2. The Blog content type doesn't currently support localization, but we are working with Butter to get this feature on their roadmap.
3. Content migration between sites wasn't available when we first partnered with Butter. We developed our own utility tool to accomplish this for global websites. Since that time, Butter has made large leaps in this area and offers some migration capabilities, and we hope to see more down the road.
4. Granular access control was something we have struggled with, and our situation might be more unique with multiple sites, countries, and locales as a large global business. Butter has been working on this and we are excited for the future in regards to this issue.
5. One of the issues we faced initially was the ability to use the Write API to set reference fields. This made it particularly difficult with some aspects of our business internally as a development team. However, Butter has made improvements on this since then, but that is something that was difficult to manage around initially.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter CMS has taken the heavy lifting of managing a CMS system, data, and interface and has done a great job providing this functionality as a service or headless CMS. Previously we built and maintained our own CMS system, and it absorbed a lot of resources and time from our development teams. Also, it was difficult to push out new features and upgrades as often as they were requested. Working with Butter has been fantastic in that they have provided a great product and are continually working to improve it.

  ### 8. ButterCMS has made maintaining our public website easier and faster.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Ease of use: once implemented, we can add, update and remove pages and components easily. Customer support has also been outstanding.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The structure of pages and components is not entirely intuitive.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ButterCMS allows us to rapidly change our public website without coding. This allows well-trained users in sales/marketing and other departments to make their own changes without significant IT time being spent.

  ### 9. Easy to use and reliable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Easy to navigate and intuitive interface.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

No real downsides based on our current needs.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows our marketing team to edit content on our website without involving the engineering team.

  ### 10. Easy to Use and Implement Headless CMS Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy R. | Product Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

We needed a way to host our own blog but also provide non-technical marketing folks with a way to write blogs and publish them to our website autonomously (without the help of our developers/engineers). We looked at different options and ButterCMS was the clear choice for us because of the many integrations offered, the SEO metadata tools/fields, and the affordability. We used ButterCMS for our blog for several years and have had no complaints! The headless CMS integrates with pretty much any tech stack. We used it with Angular and then .NET. Both were fairly easy to implement and they have rich documentation. Regarding blog generation, the interface is effortless and intuitive to use and upload images/GIFs, and add SEO metadata. And their customer support is top-notch and very quick to offer helpful, and friendly answers.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I find it somewhat difficult to try and think of any shortcomings with ButterCMS but I feel the integrations could still be made easier. If you don't have a developer handy (which we did), then the implementation will likely be difficult. If there was an easier way to integrate—maybe more non-technical like some WordPress plugins are to implement—without losing any SEO benefits that could be an opportunity for improvement. But overall, for our situation, ButterCMS checked all the boxes and provided us with a great CMS tool our marketers could use with ease (after it was all set up).

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned in the 'What I like best' section, We needed a way to host our own blog on a custom-built website through an API-first approach but also provide non-technical marketing folks with a way to write blogs and publish them to our website autonomously (without the help of our developers/engineers). We also needed an image hosting service and an easy way to add SEO meta data to our blogs. Oh yes, and ButterCMS made it easier to migrate over the blogs we had previously hosted on a WordPress subdomain.

  ### 11. Intuitive, simple, and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

It is a simple CMS that makes learning and getting going easy. Training needed is minimal, so getting new team mates on board is always a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The search feature can be improved. How past blog posts are displayed can be improved. It is fundamental at the moment.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter helps us maintain our blog. Publishing and updating is taken care of through Butter. It helps improve the rate of publishing and ease of maintainenance.

**Official Response from Allison Murray:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave us review! We are glad to hear that your team was able to get up and running quickly with ButterCMS!!

I will follow up with an email to learn more about some of the areas you noted that we could improve upon.

  ### 12. Butter is easy to use and navigate. It integrated well with our platform.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alisha V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Ease of use. Easy to add collaborators. Simple design. Intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

It was a little challenging to work with photo sizing and get the text the way we wanted to show up the right way on the site (i.e. subscript and superscript). Limitors in how you design and layout.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy and simple CMS to build and edit newsletters that integrates well with our no-code user platform.

**Official Response from Allison Murray:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on ButterCMS. We appreciate your input regarding photo sizing and will pass this along to our product team to further evaluate. In the meantime, we are glad to hear that your team is finding ButterCMS easy to use.

  ### 13. Excellent tool and amazing support!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Collin O. | Senior Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS is endlessly configurable. Over the past year, our team of engineers has developed dozens of custom components within Butter to support a variety of user experiences and interface options. In addition, our business users have quickly learned how to use the tool and set up countless web pages with little to no development support required.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

There are some quirks to the tool that can result in users having to duplicate efforts across multiple pages. For example, it is not as easy as you'd think to clone a page and make small variations for other versions of that page. Sometimes it requires you to rebuild elements of the page again instead of just leveraging what you already have. Not having a live preview of your changes to the UI can also require several rounds of publishing / republishing to get right.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ButterCMS has been a game-changer for our business. Rather than relying on developers to make all site changes, this tool has empowered our business users to more fully own site merchandising.

  ### 14. Amazing CMS for e-commerce websites built with NextJS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The ease of use and javascript library is great.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

None for now. It is a great tool for building nextJs e-commerce websites.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for dynamically updating page title and description without needing to re-deploy the website(mostly SEO)

  ### 15. Great CMS, amazing team & excellent service!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter has a lot of potential to take the CMS market by storm. The platform is very versatile and powerful, but the team at Butter is what makes it great. They are responsive and very committed to making their product great and are always making sure their clients have the best experience by making continual improvements and actually listening to customer needs.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

It's excellent for developers but not the greatest for designers. There is no WYSIWYG integration and code can often be trickier to implement than it should be. Though there are workarounds, it feels like there are some missing tools that could make the process smoother.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter has given us the ability to leverage aspects of our online presence that we struggled with before. For example, we have developed a much more robust UI experience by leveraging components for stronger customer traction.

  ### 16. Great UI and Documentation But Not The Best Fit

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The documentation is great and it is easy to implement and use. Also, their customer service is quick to respond and gives in-depth answers.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Copying data between locales and environments has been an issue and lead to us creating our own migration tools. It would be great if they had more robust tools to accomplish that. Also working with locales can be messy. When creating a resource for a locale that resource automatically gets created for all locales. This means that if some resources are meant for 1 locale then they get duplicated for all and so you end up paying for unused resources.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us it solved the problem of translating content for many different locales. Since the UI is easy to use then it has been easy for us to implement new pages and get those pages translated.

  ### 17. Solid CMS service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Teddy J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

It was pretty user friendly and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The UI/UX and admin functionality can be a bit smoother.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are helping us host and support blogs on our website.

  ### 18. Great CMS Solution & API, Exactly What We Needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn Q. | Systems Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS's ability to allow us to design our own content type structures with ease, and conveniently adjust them as the project progressed was perfect for our project. That allowed us to easily follow an "agile-like" process with the different stake holders on the project by getting an idea prototyped, iterate on it, and then lock it in for production - without the tediousness of needing super-detailed specifications for each content widget or page. The available APIs were so easy to setup and use, which easily dropped into our development process and tooling.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

We really liked that ButterCMS doesn't attempt to get in the way with how we do the front-end/presentation layer, and intentionally stays in its lane by instead providing only a great API to build the UI with. It would be nice if they'd provide a simple way to inject some of our own custom CSS into the WYSIWYG editor within their admin console though, so that our content creators/writers/editors could get a more correct understanding of what the content will look like directly as they're editing it in the CMS.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an API-first approach to content management, as our web site was never going to work with a more traditional CMS. We also knew we had some fairly unique content structure needs, and at the same time we didn't want to have to invest in building the administrative tooling for our content editors to use to manage those custom content records. ButterCMS perfectly solved these problems for us by 1.) giving us a convenient way to build out our unique content model types, 2.) immediately providing a way for our content writers/editors to manage those custom content records that they found intuitive and comfortable with, and 3.) providing a straightforward and highly performant way for our developers to leverage and render the content in our UI via their intuitive APIs.

  ### 19. Used ButterCMS for content on our mobile App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

It was easy to use and provided the flexiblity we needed.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I didn't find anything we didn't like about the solution.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gave us the ability to update photos and text on our mobile app.

  ### 20. ButterCMS is a full featured content management system that's easy to set up.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David G. | Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

We found the pages and collections approach to be great once we got the hang of how to arrange pages for our needs. There are many options on structuring different page elements including repeating or flexible numbers of content items.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The media library could have used more hierarchy and structure options. Browsing through dozens of images became cumbersome. Having a good naming scheme is critical to make use of searching and filtering features to access media items.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ButterCMS allowed for us to concentrate on the content for our website without adding another service for us to host and maintain. The schema ButterCMS uses for accessing the content is also logical. While we need to fit into the kinds of elements it supports, there's enough variety that it could match both static pages and pages with variable, dynamic content on our site.

  ### 21. Perfect for our needs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Great user interface. Simple to use. Easy to navigate and create!

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Customer Support is not exactly meeting our needs.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A simple API is all that is needed - we love that!

  ### 22. Excellent for CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gajanan P. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Component, Collection, Pages, Blogs.

In pages, the repeater field is very useful

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

In Blogs, there is a feature to make use of nested blog post

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMS tool is handy when we want to change content frequently so that this reduces the developer dependency; directly, we can add our HTML pages & update the content

  ### 23. A great tool to create and manage content for the company's website.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna G. | Web Content Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Great tool for creating and managing content for the company's website. We can build new pages and update the old ones in several clicks. The process reminds playing with blocks :)

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

We want more tracking on our existing components' usage and on which pages they are already placed. However, this issue was addressed to the Butter team, who are trying to find a solution.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Butter for the company's website. We are happy with the CMS, which provides an excellent tool to build and manage all website pages efficiently. Also, it reduces the time to update the content, blog, images, etc.

  ### 24. Butter is a great choice for headless CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles G. | UI developer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter CMS is very easy to use the built-in API client make calling the API a breeze. As an architect, butter cms gives me more flexibility to use the cms as in ways that can not be used in a traditional CMS like WordPress. A good example is hybrid apps, we let parts of the website to be updated by butter (ie. button names, heading, wording for a page) this allows our business to do a change without any downtime to our clients. Also, Butter CMS allows us to build very reusable view components that can be added to the website without coding, just some very simple configuration on our end.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

*Not dislike or deal-breakers but my wish-list that I believe would take ButterCMS to the next level*

The write API if very lacking and not part of ButterCMS API Client, and documentation is not there yet(if you understand API shouldn't be a trouble for you). We were able to get things to work, but it was a lot of frustration at times.

Repeater needs to be able to have repeaters a list of lists of lists of objects.
If you think of Components as objects and Repeaters as List then you will understand why a user would want of list of objects or a list of lists.

These two above make it hard to create things like dynamic tables, or questionnaires. The references tool is too much clicking, especially for non-technical people.
a good example.
I want a repeater that has a component in it <- this is powerful, that can be used to make a table, or layouts, because now you have a List<T>, ICollection<T>. This is very important to a dev to make very dynamic content.

-Below are nice to have-
Needs a built-in Site Map component.
Needs a built-in Navigation component.
Needs SEO for pages, just like how the Blog works (it's very useful).
Write API for the ButterCMS Client.

Still Good Work.

  ### 25. A Developers Experience with ButterCMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam H. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

There are many great features of butter, but from a developer's perspective; their documentation is very thorough. They have guides for most all tech stacks, and querying the ButterAPI is seamless.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

One thing that i disliked, is that you cant reference specific Blog Posts at the collection level. This made it slightly difficult to allow customization for content editors to choose specific blog posts for a section.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ButterCMS is solving the problem of monolithic website builds. This is where the code and content arent decoupled, and as a developer that is a much more confusing environment. By creating an intuitive headless platform, ButterCMS makes developers' lives easier as well as provides better website performance.

  ### 26. It's quite a nice tool for headless CMS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pranav V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

We can create various types of collections and also group it togather and creating pages, by default following seperation of concerns priniple

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

RIght now as per my understanding, I am unable to create multiple environments

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is able to solve the problem of content management

  ### 27. Easy to navigate and great customer service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared T. | Team Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Support is fantastic! The response time is very quick and helpful. The tools are easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

We have had to make some adjustments to caching issues so we can force pulling new content sometimes.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They make it easy for our markets to translate content on our site in their own languages.

  ### 28. Great entry level CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Very user-friendly platform for non-technical people to add, edit, and manage content with minimal training/experience. This was my first time using a CMS and I found it relatively straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

While this may be just because I was a user of the platform (i.e., not the one who implemented it), there was some confusion about pages vs. posts vs. other content, but that was ultimately sorted out.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a non-technical person, it allowed us to do things like update our user manuals and other website help-text without having to do a full deployment on our site.

  ### 29. ButterCMS works great for us

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William P. | Associate Director of Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

At Electric Enjin, we use ButterCMS to manage digital experiences for clients including blogs, custom page content, and high-end design components. We utilize data collections, the media library, pages, and other features in Butter's multi-site environments. This makes it easy for us as a development agency to manage multiple client sites.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

There is nothing that I dislike because ButterCMS is constantly asking for feedback and working to improve the product. The customer support is genuinely better than competitors and their dev team is very in touch with what we need. They handle data migrations whenever we request.

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

You should consider the ease of use for clients and publishers. The UI is clean and the options are very straightforward.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ButterCMS does a great job of being simple to use and even easier to explain to clients. Data collections, pages, and components all allow us to create modern, high quality websites.

  ### 30. Excellent headless CRM, very easy to integrate

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

As an engineering leader, I'm most concerned about the technical effort required to implement tools. Butter was dead-simple - set it up, grab the API key, and call their endpoints when needed.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The only tricky thing was a minor issue; we wanted to be able to filter/search all of our posts/content or grab all of the headers so we could display a "home page" for our blog, but they didn't have that ability at the time. It might have been implemented since, but it was performant enough to load all of our content simultaneously.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you're looking for a simple, lightweight, cost-effective CRM for a small-medium size business, Butter is it. We tried a few others and they were either way too heavy/complicated or didn't have basic features.

  ### 31. Easy to implement as a developer, easy to use for the rest of the team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

As a developer, I like the most how easy to understand their API documentation is. Also, the fact it can be implemented in several languages makes it even more helpful. Finally, in case you need it, Customer Support will readily be there to help you, and they have different code examples that can walk you through the implementation process.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

There is nothing I can think of now. If anything, I have not much experience in the UI for writing blog posts so it might seem foreign to me when trying to figure out how to structure blog posts, for example.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use ButterCMS as a tool for non-tech people to write blog posts. Before, the dev team would have to be in charge of adding the blog posts made by the marketing site to the project, which takes time. Now they can upload it themselves, thanks to their UI, and it will be fetched automatically.

  ### 32. The right balance of usability and flexibility.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy C. | Chief Technology Officer at Home Propositions, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The time it takes to get content deployed is refreshingly rapid and suits our needs as a rapid innovation team perfectly. Once implemented (the documentation is great)|, the technical team don't need to get involved at all, and the content creators can publish professional-looking material without hindrance.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

While using ButterCMS it would have been great to have had MFA for our logins as an additional layer of protection for our content.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We build proposition applications and websites fast so we wanted a lightweight CMS where we can publish content quickly and with as little technical maintenance as possible. ButterCMS fits our specification perfectly.

  ### 33. Fast and Easy CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nyrih S. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

As a developer at Electric Enjin, one of the most helpful features ButterCMS has to offer is its build-in API Explorer. It's a great feature to have during development as it takes away the need to use other external tools to get data.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS blog post feature is inaccessible with their references field for instances where you might want to use a post on other pages besides the blog page itself.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ButterCMS is helping solve the improvements in page speed and performance in sites by providing a lightning-fast headless CMS with many different languages to choose from.

  ### 34. Easy to use CMS system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martijn v. | Engineer IT & Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS is an easy to use (headless) CMS system. In a very short period, you can set up a complete site.
Very good documentation.
Very helpful and friendly support.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Understanding the difference between the different subscriptions was not straightforward.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a short-to-market headless cms system for our mobile app.

  ### 35. It is a good content management system. It does what it is intended but there are some flaws.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

it is very difficult to find specific content. it is very difficult to copy multiple collections to multiple markets.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we needed a content management system and this solved that issue.

  ### 36. Great seamless integration for content creation and management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Great UI and easy to manage different websites and formats all n on location.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Ability to add functionality from one site to another without getting development team involved

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to quickly adapt and augment our content needs across numerous websites .

  ### 37. Game changer in CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** HM S. | Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I like the simple but attractive user interface of Butter CMS. As a content marketer, Meta description and SEO option in Butter CMS is really very helpful to me. I also like its blog post scheduling, team collaboration, data migration, knowledge base, and collection feature.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Everything in Butter CMS is quite alright to me. But there should have some addons features like analytics and other third-party integration that are needed for blogging and content marketing.

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

Butter CMS is perfect for content marketers and bloggers who want to publish their writing or post without any complicated process. This software has all the features for content marketing and blogging. So, I recommend this CMS to the bloggers and content marketers who want to save money, effort, and time.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of the CMS requires a moderately complicated process to publish a blog post or article. But in Butter CMS, it is easier now. So, this software is saving my time, money, and effort with a great deal. My overall experience is really very superb with Butter CMS.

  ### 38. Easy to use CMS with a great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Flexible CMS with a lot of features, like Text, Images, Collections, Components that can be reused across pages and of course a great support, that answers your questions very fast.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

There are still can be more features like repeater of components inside other component.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows to reduce implementation time for new pages, allows to chage content quickly.
Provides Blog Posts, Pages features, different Environments support.

  ### 39. As Easy To Use As Butter

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ciara A. | Marketing Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

It makes sharing blog posts quick and easy! One of my favorite platforms to use for blog posts so far! My favorite thing about ButterCMS is that I can schedule posts to stay on top of all of my tasks. The scheduling out ability that ButterCMS has lets me plan for more content in the future.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS has so many great tools, but one thing that I would like to see changed in ButterCMS is font sizes of header 1 and header 2 to look less alike once the blog is published. Sometimes when I am reading posts all day I have a hard time telling the differences between the header because the sizes seem so close visually.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can post quality blog content to our website and ButterCMS gives us the ability to have our blogs looks professional and well organized with visual no issues.

  ### 40. Easy to use as both a developer and content creator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Corinn P. | Director Of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS is super easy to integrate on an existing site. Their processes to build a blog with just a simple command in the console is super helpful. Plus, abstracting all that "developer stuff" and giving content creators their own place to add content is incredibly helpful for any company serious about their blog. The built-in SEO is also great.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

It's best for those who publish content regularly. If you're not pushing out content at least weekly or are not serious about growing your content marketing efforts then you may want to look at other solutions.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to be able to publish content without worrying about spinning up a nice text editor, customizing all my SEO, and doing all the work that comes with developing a high quality blog in RoR. Butter makes all that work easy peasy.

  ### 41. Butter CMS Easy to Use and Scalable for business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse F. | Director of Engineering, CX, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

The small learning curve for onboarding.
Customizable for our business needs.
Supports internationalization and localization for content.
An excellent choice for your Headless CMS needs. Smooth like Butter ;)

Support is also quick responsive and willing to help in many scenarios.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Would be great to have a better way to migrate content for environments. A typical challenge we face is having a Staging and Production instance and moving content from STG to PROD, which has been somewhat cumbersome, however, the support team has many times kicked in and assisted with this migration of data, so kudos to them and their support team!

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a headless CMS, this allows us to cleanly separate our Code and Content, giving our Product Owners and Growth team the ability to update content as they see as necessary without the need to engage with a developer.

  ### 42. So easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaity B. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I've only been using ButterCMS for a short amount of time in a localization project, but I'm so grateful for the ease of use when translating our current pages in English to International languages. It breaks down each line of text, making my verification and translation tasks quick and smooth.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Maybe I need to use it longer than a couple months to find out, but don't have any suggestions at the moment.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For my specific team, we've been tasked with taking all our current landing pages and localizing them in multiple languages. This is a huge undertaking with multiple people reviewing every page (the individual CSM, management and marketing), but with Butter CMS, it cuts out the stress and difficulty of such an immense, but very important milestone for our company.

  ### 43. A great headless CMS for producing content at scale

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ed S. | Content marketer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

If you want to create content that looks good, fast, Butter is for you. If you produce a lot of articles, formatting and designing each one is laborious and wastes a lot of time, time that could be spent planning, strategising, tracking, or just enjoying a cup of coffee now and then.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

If you want to create more dynamic content that is, for instance, interactive, Butter is somewhat limited.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Butter takes the hassle out of posting content, streamlining a lot of processes and not chucking a million bells and whistles in your face. Can highly recommend for any individual or start-up looking to get their content strategy on the road.

  ### 44. Great CMS tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dominika O. | Founding Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Butter CMS is an excellent tool if you want to make your blogging effective and much easier! Definitely recommend it + really good customer service. We do not have experience with another CMS tool.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I had trouble once when the uploaded picture and video file didnt published well on our website. but it was solved later, and since that it works without any problems.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More effective articles sharing, management of marketing content team, analytics and content preparation. The best benefit is that once we needed to write articles related to our product, Butter CMS provided us an effective way how to create easily a blog on our platform without any need to code our own solution.

  ### 45. Nothing negative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul C. | Marketing Project Manager, Digital Strategy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

CMS has been an amazing tool for both our marketing team as well as our development team. By using Butter we are able to efficiently create and update our website.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I have not experienced any issues so far with Butter. When I do come across an issue the Butter team is always available to help and they also have a plethora of resources one can utilize.

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

Butter is an amazing CMS and has helped our team become more efficient and proactive.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Butter to create a more efficient website for our marketing and development team. By using Butter we are not relying so much on our developers for easy website updates and changes.

  ### 46. Fantastic partnership and product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler N. | Sr. Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS is a great product that fits all our company needs without having too many bells and whistles that complicate the product or the UI. What I like best, though, is the customer service. They've helped us do many projects or simplify the projects. Butter has added features when we've asked for them. They are super responsive to questions. Our company is now using Butter across 7 different areas of our business and it's been such a great partnership.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The user management was very difficult to manage but then Butter went in and completely updated the experience.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use ButterCMS as a way to display dynamic content, creating entire pages hosted by Butter, including a microsite, and our blog is all housed in Butter.

  ### 47. Awesome easy to use platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Freya M. | B2C Marketer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

I like being able to add different sized imagery to the blog giving you freedom to design the look of your blog better. We use butter for our B2C blog and haven't had any issues.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

Would be useful to be able to copy and paste pre-linked content without messing up the formatting some times it adds a extra space so have to manually add all the links.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solved not having to use our valuable tech teams resources to make a custom blog. With the scheduling feature we have saved loads of time and seen our blog views go up.

  ### 48. Super Flexible CMS Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hampton C. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

With only a little bit of our developer time, we built a powerful "curation" feature on our site that allowed our Content team to rapidly create new landing pages with curated video content on our site.

Support was solid, as the ButterCMS team quickly answered any questions I had.

In my opinion, the Components module is the most powerful part of the ButterCMS platform, and while it's a recent addition, it can supercharge what you are doing.

Also, the price is very fair versus some of the competition who attempt to gouge your marketing budget.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

I found the initial marketing kind of confusing – as some of the marketing sounds like there are no software engineering resources required. That is misleading. To do the initial integration and develop the actual ability to display content on the site DOES take engineering work, design, and custom code. Not a ton, but not trivial either, as you need to do design and development work.

However, *after* the team builds what is needed, it's very flexible to change the content if they've done their job well.

The Ruby library also needs some help as it's a little oddly built.

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

Just use the Component system!

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping our content team build landing pages using reusable components that our design + dev team created for them. It's made it very easy for our marketing team to build out new campaigns without needing developer resources.

  ### 49. Very Simple to Utilize

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

Extremely easy to tag all entries with metadata that will make documentation and searching a breeze! I love that we can keep things separated by collections based on our needs!

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

The look of the GUI seems a little bare. The GUI provides everything you need, but the style looks a little outdated. The GUI doesn't affect the use of the tool by any means, though.

**Recommendations to others considering Butter CMS:**

Butter CMS is a great product that has many outstanding features!

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a central repository for our resources instead of being separated on different servers with their respective sites is a massive benefit. Production and performance have increased due to this as well.

  ### 50. Butter Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tural A. | IT MAnager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Butter CMS?**

It's a simple and quick way to share blog entries! My favorite feature of ButterCMS is the ability to schedule posts so that I can remain on top of all of my responsibilities. ButterCMS' ability to schedule out content allows me to plan ahead for future content.

**What do you dislike about Butter CMS?**

ButterCMS has a lot of excellent features, however one thing I'd want to have modified is the font sizes of header 1 and header 2 so they don't seem so similar once the blog is published. When I'm reading posts all day, it's often difficult for me to recognize the difference between the headers because the sizes are so similar aesthetically.

**What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can publish high-quality blog content on our website, and ButterCMS allows us to make our blogs look professional and well-organized, with no visual difficulties.
