I've found Burkland to be very responsive (they respond via email but also have an active Slack channel with us) and willing to jump in to help with a wide variety of areas. In some cases they help simply where we don't have capacity as a very small G&A team, and in other areas there are technical questions, especially regarding tax advisory work, that they've been able to assist with. They've also been a valuable resource when we're having a variety of issues with the financial and adjacent systems that we use, with a variety of connections across other tools that they've been open to referring us to and opining on their experience with. I love how Burkland Associates provides streamlined bookkeeping and financial reporting. Their expertise in cash forecasting, revenue reconciliation, and complex multi-entity accounting is invaluable. I really appreciate their fantastic service as they never say no to a task and consistently showcase excellent responsiveness and attention to detail. They always meet deadlines and ensure thorough completion of tasks, on time. I also find their subject matter expertise impressive, especially their understanding of how accounting and billing works in the healthcare and early stage startup worlds. It's great that they take initiative on new projects. Additionally, they helped us implement useful software like Bill.com, QBO, Chase and Berkshire banking platforms, and Gusto. I find Burkland Associates' fractional CFO service incredibly valuable. The specific person we work with has been exceptionally effective at helping us create our financial model for the company. They also do our accounting and tax returnsin a very cost-efficient way, especially since we don't have internal employees focused on accounting. Everything is completely outsourced to them.
