Building Engines(Prism) is very helpful as it keeps most of our property information all in one place. From Work Orders, building equipment, preventive maintenance schedules, COI's, Contracts, Tenant Communication, Emergency Notifications, and even a central location for our tenants to grab property documents, like our fitness waivers, tenant handbooks, and even emergency procedures. It's a great one stop shop for all building related activities. My tenants and I included like how there is both a web based application and mobile phone application that is easy to use while on the go during our fast paced work days. The customer support is quick to respond when needing corrections made for vendors. It's so easy to use that our janitorial and security teams have implemented it into their day to day operations. Sometimes the process for getting new preventive maintenance tasks or even meter readings can be a challenge as these are not tasks we update on a frequent basis. What problems is Building Engines solving and how is that benefiting you? Building Engines provides an easy solution for tenants to notify us of challenges they are having within their space. This allows us allows us to track trends and be better at proactively anticipating our tenants needs throughout the year. We recently transferred from Building Engines to Prism. In comparison, I really like all the search and filtering features of Prism. As a company with 90+ properties in the system it is really helpful to be able to create your own layouts for filtering and customization. I also really like the bulk update options, whether updating work orders, contact information, or property lists it is helpful to be able to do so in bulk all at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Building Engines? I would say one of the biggest downsides in Prism is not knowing where to look for certain actions. Different actions can be selected from the checkboxes on the left, the three dots on the right, the actions tab at the top of the screen, and within the workorders/PMs themselves. This makes is confusing know where to look for specific actions. Our company has also had issues with the communications section, which is different from the original building engines layout. Building Engines allows us to automate the process of entering work order requests from tenants which is a huge consolidation of time. As an overall system it holds a wide variety of property specific information in one place including tenants, equipment, work orders, communications, COI's and contracts. I find Building Engines very user-friendly and easy to navigate, which means I need little to no formal training. It's valuable for managing our work orders efficiently, and it helps us keep tenants and vendors updated on the status and outcomes. Also, finding things within the software is quite straightforward. The ease of use to enter work orders and isolate entries based on which users are at a particular facility. Also, the ability for Building Engines to automatically set a priority (Low, Emergency, etc) The system also automatically sends a text immediately to the contractor. I wish the tenant credit feature worked properly, and I wish it would automatically be able to adjust tenant markups because in my building we have tenants with different markup percentages and I have to change them all manually. I appreciate Building Engines' simplistic and easy-to-work-with user interface. What do you dislike about Building Engines? I dislike changing/adding user access/controls for different people associated with my company. For example, I want to stop receiving notifications for certain things and add someone else's email for them, but I do not have access to edit that. I use Building Engines to keep my work orders in one place and organized. It's handy to make comments and add photos, and I like that I can view old work orders. Sometimes, instead of creating a new work order, I look to see if there was the same problem in the past and open the closed work order, which helps me see how the situation was handled before. The task prioritization feature keeps me focused since I have a lot to do and sometimes it's hard to prioritize. Overall, the initial setup was seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
