**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Simplifies the delivery process, editing the pipeline doesn't require knowledge of xlm (it's done right on the web interface), intuitive UI that's easy for anyone to use

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Can sometimes be too simple. I've been told by collegues that the look of it puts them off (not sure why)

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use buddy as a delivery pipeline. Very easy to deploy our project onto different envs and such.

  ### 4. Amazing CI experience!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

It's incredibly easy to configure, has a beautiful design and UX that's very easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Not much to dislike; if anything simply the memory limits which are hit pretty quickly with JavaScript build tools

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buddy has helped us with continuous integration and deployment. We're able to run tests automatically with every push to any branch. We can deploy to our staging server automatically when pushed to our staging branch. We can ensure that the environment, library versions, etc. are the same locally as they are on our live server. It's an incredibly flexible and powerful service and one of the few services that I think is worth paying for vs. building yourself.

  ### 5. Great tool, easy to use

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2020

The simplicty in which you can build workflows

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing really, maybe the free tier could be more generous as running it with docker the storage size is easily full

Quick deployments to production, without touching anything

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I have been using Buddy for over a year and really have no complaints.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployments and testing

  ### 7. Great CI, Self-hosted, Doesn't break the bank

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George W. | Senior Business Process Architect, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I love the fact that we are able to use buddy enterprise to self-host our CI server, we develop a lot of in host web applications and some are as simple as ftping files over to update the site, while others require us to deploy node apps buddy make all of this possible under a single pane of glass

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

my only real complaint with buddy is their documentation is lacking both from setup guides to change logs for updates.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Its so far the only CI system that does what I need and was easy to setup 1-3 hr total setup time.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating software deployments to various endpoints from github has been a HUGE timesaver as well as allowing us to keep our code in a central repo.

  ### 8. Buddy.works just works!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Super clear and easy to find what we need. The easy to manage step system helps a lot!

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Sometimes it struggles with setting up configurations with Pantheon, but once you figure that out it really does make sense.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were having different deployment processes for all of our Wordpress projects and it was getting unruly. So Buddy really helped us get a set system of steps for an easy to use continuous deployment pipeline for Wordpress projects.

  ### 9. East to Configure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin H. | Director of Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

How easy it is to set up and deploy an application to AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Number of concurrent jobs you can do is based on the plan

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes zipping and deploying to AWS so much easier. It's faster than our in-house solutions and cheaper to run.

  ### 10. Best CI/CD that I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas W. | Director of Development, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

UX - Hands down the best UX, I've had on any CI/CD tool. Status and progress are very clear, so there's never a question about what's happening and you don't have to read through a wall of text before you're able to identify issues. Setting up your workflow aka "pipeline" is a very easy process, which is crucial because it's the crux of the whole system.

UI - Modern and sleek, clearly subjective, however, the tool itself is not a cookie cutter design and there was a lot of thought put into the aesthetic, which definitely separates it from other tools within the same space.

Flexibility - One of the issues with other GUI driven CI/CD tools we've experienced is it's lack of flexibility, however, Buddy doesn't have those same limitations. Comes with pretty much everything you expect and/or want from any CI/CD tool. Automation, notifications, cloning, Rsync (clutch), variables (seemingly simple, but also clutch), SSH, 3rd party connections, "CRON" jobs, etc. the list goes on. All done without being forced to write a single config. file.

Speed - One the fastest, if not the fastest deployment tools we've used.

Sandboxes ... yea ... sandboxes

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

If you're doing the self-hosted "Enterprise" version, updating is not horrible, but it is kinda clunky. There's a way to update through the GUI, however, more often than not, it still forces you to SSH into your server to update a package.

Every now and again, when there's a change, it's not as well documented as it could've been. Without being too long-winded, Buddy 2.0 forced a key change for all projects, w/o detailing that it was a required update. Having to update a lot of projects with new keys was a bear.

Pricing. Now granted, the pricing model is on par with other services, and that's fine., and this just recently (1.x => 2.0) changed. But you previously were able to have a working free version, which is no longer available, which is to the detriment of freelancers. If you were grandfathered in or want to stay with version 1.0, that's all good, but you don't get all the 2.0 goodies.

Support response times, a bit longer, but that's only really due to the fact that we're on opposite sides of the globe, but if you're based in the US, keep that in mind.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a reliable CI/CD tool, that we could keep under lock-and-key on our own servers, that had all the flexibility of all the other major players in this space. This provides us with unprecedented speed, simplicity, and flexibility that just works, without any real compromise.

  ### 11. Getting started is easy and Great Customer Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I have been using this for a couple of months and have really enjoyed playing with it. Getting started was a snap and the overall selection of plugins and out of the box features made this one of my favorite products I have used in a long time.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing, I really think they nailed the UI and features.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is one of our first ventures into DevOps, we are starting to work on getting more and more deployments automated and this tool made it easy.
