What do you like best?

The proactive abilities to and tracking of sales data when used for B2C.

The ability to add multiple fields and mapping them t our NetSuite ERP has allowed broader reach for our diversified client base. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Primary use is B2C even though their sales process suggests that it will function equally well with B2B. That is not the case when working with NetSuite ERP and using Saved Searches to update lists or drawing sales data from company activity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very sound with a B2C focus. Plenty of utilities to track data and provide interactive solutions.

What do you like best?

It integrated nicely with the Magento website and I was easily able to add in additional modules as my business needs grew. The support team was available around the clock, so I was always able to speak to someone if one of my campaigns encountered issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It was sometimes a little difficult to diagnose email provider issues. Selling a complex product also made creating product related automation difficult and relevant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The Bronto Platform is great and pretty user friendly. Allows for easy email formulations and data reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

If ANYTHING goes wrong with the software you'll have to submit a trouble ticket. It takes 2-3 business days for an initial response, then a 3-4 day for a follow up. We had 3 tickets open for over 3 months each. We did not renew our contract. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We've had a really bad experience with Bronto. The software is great, but the support is dated and doesn't work. For the price you'll pay for their service, it should match the quality of what you'll get. Try another solution for you business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Very powerful if you know what you are doing. Their workflow tool is fantastic and segmentation tools area great. When it's not buggy it is very, very powerful.

I have sent dozens of customers to Bronto over the years and am personally responsible for many people signing up with them. I've been an evangelist and believer. Well, I used to be :/ More on that below. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

We have been with them for over a decade. We have seen them get bought and sold and bought. This has resulted in this company losing their once-great culture and their soul along the way. To make things worse, they've implemented billing policies and practices that would make a used car salesman blush. Their billing department (now run by Oracle) lacks transparency and integrity. Not only do they nickel and dime their customers now, they also tell you one price and then change things after the fact. The sale-people promise things and then recant. There is no transparency in pricing. They use contract renewals as a chances to jack up prices and then count on high switching costs to keep you tethered to the platform. When there are billing problems, they always point to some shadowy "Oracle billing team" somewhere that "can't approve that request". You can never actually talk to a human being about billing discrepancies and billing issues. It didn't used to be that way, but it's gotten so bad. Used car dealership bad.

They used to respond to support requests quickly and get engineers who understood the platform to work on problems. Now, they roll out half-baked features that break the tool and then wait days, even weeks, to fix the problems. Support request go unanswered or forgotten until you kick and scream. These incidents are followed by apologies and promises that it will get better and "won't happen again". Rise, repeat. Rinse, repeat.

Netsuite/Oracle has ruined this once brilliant, nimble and honest company. :(

I wish this were not the case. We have been customers for over a decade. We would be with them for another decade if they still treated us with integrity and care. :/ Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Bronto is great for large batch and blast email campaigns and has several add-on features (like cart and browse abandon) that have proven useful to us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

We've found some shortcomings in terms of advanced segmentation and targeting. For anything outside of splitting lists in half, it takes hours to create successful segments. We've also had some issues with A/B testing, where we will do a split to a small portion of the list and then Bronto is supposed to automatically send out the winner after enough time has gone by to judge it. Unfortunately, this feature seems to be glitchy as we've had the losing test sent out instead of the winner. We've had our fair share of problems and support tickets with Bronto and customer support is usually pretty good at getting back to us. However, at our recent contract negotiation, they tried to sell us to a "premium support line" for an extra couple thousand dollars, which was irritating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Bronto is sophisticated enough to offer all the functionality we desire (e.g. cart abandon, personalized recommendations, a plethora of automation) but simple enough someone with no prior email knowledge can be trained and fully capable of building & testing campaigns in a matter of days. There are small product development requests I have such as being able to schedule pop up manager to activate & deactivate at certain times; integrating coupon manager in to pop up manager; triggering workflows with a scheduled segment run, etc. but there is nothing that I explicitly do not like. What do you like best?

The options to build out emails is great - the drag and drop editor is nice and easy, and building in HTML/CSS is always an options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Gathering and exporting data from Bronto can be difficult. For examples we have semi-regular data reviews within our team, and we build out delivery groups to see the number of sends/opens/clicks for deliveries like batch and blast and transactional. Making these delivery groups can be time consuming. Additionally, we want to do a bulk export of data into our own data warehouse and the process has been difficult to figure out. What do you like best?

The speed and simplicity with drag & drop and content tags makes for quicker email creation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There are times when a mobile image and desktop image show up in the same email. The "hide on mobile" "hide on desktop" feature is great but both images will show up on some emails and makes us look like we don't know what we're doing. It happens every time when an email is forwarded. I've worked around this by making one image that's big enough to read on mobile and is abnormally big on desktop. If you know how to drag-and-drop, you know how to create an email in Bronto! You don't have to know HTML or even understand HTML. Using Bronto has simplified my emails making them look a lot cleaner and less cluttered which is more appealing to customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

What do you like best?

What do you like best?

What do you like best?

A lot of the features appear to be good, like cart recovery, newsletter subscription and personalized emails but we never got them to work correctly. The tracking and reporting of emails appear to be good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Setup is one time, if you missed or change anything (like upgrading Magento), then they want to charge again for setup. All the features and services they tout in the sales pitch are extra costs. We made it very clear that we needed coupon codes for the email subscriptions, turned out that this was an additional feature at more cost. We finally agreed on a price and 6 months later have still not used it because the support to set it up was lacking.

The features that you were promised are so complex to setup that it makes it impossible for a small team to manage and their support is a basic ticketing system that does not help much. Promised features, like integrating with NetSuite and our B2B business never happened.

For 3 months, I have not even had Bronto installed in my Magento 2.3 install because their plugin is not compatible. Every few days I get another email from them, "Were you able to resolve your problem?" but no solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You must have a dedicated IT professional available to commit a lot of time to management, setup and continued internal support.

What do you like best?

I like that the majority of Bronto's functions are quite user-friendly . Having never worked in email marketing prior to my current job, it was easy for me to learn about Bronto.

There are also so many functions, such as automation, that we have been able to enhance our email experience for our mailing list in a relatively short period of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The biggest issue for us isn't so much a Bronto issue as it is an integration issue. Currently, we do not use a CRM or POS system that is integrated with Bronto, so we aren't able to use many of the wonderful functions in Bronto. With that said, I have been able to find work-arounds within Bronto that at least give us a little better picture of our customers. I would love to have a more integrated system so we could use Bronto's functions as much as possible. I would also like to see additional triggers/nodes for automation as that might allow us to increase our use of automated series.

I also dislike how long it takes to load a contact's history when viewing emails they've received, opened, clicked, etc. I probably check an average of 20-30 contact histories a day and the amount of time it takes to look up this information is frustrating. Bronto has an incredible array of functions that can benefit your company. Just keep in mind that if your POS or CRM systems cannot integrate with Bronto, you may not be able to use all of those functions to the fullest ability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being able to see who is opening and clicking on specific emails has been incredibly helpful for us. Because our systems aren't integrated with Bronto, we are not able to see a true conversion rate for each email campaign. However, by looking at the history of each contact who places an online order with us, I can manually batch the orders according to which email our customers are responding to.

We've also noticed that some contacts do not pay attention to transnational emails that are sent through our CRM system, so sending some of these through Bronto (in addition to the CRM deliveries) allows us to capture more attention. And it doesn't hurt that our Bronto emails are much more visually appealing than anything we could create in our CRM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

In my years with Bronto there has not been a single moment where I felt a function or feature was unavailable to me. Maintenance and upgrades are behind the scenes, and downtime is practically non-existent. With previous ESPs it always seemed like luck when things worked as designed, but with Bronto everything is as advertised or better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With such high reliability comes, in my opinion, a lack of innovation. The platform has not significantly evolved in the 6+ years I've been exposed to it, missing some key components of my direct-marketing program (that can be easily bolted on with other providers). I like the 15 minute stall after scheduling an email for "now" - has saved us a couple of times. I like how each client is organized into its own group and the latest interface was a major improvement although there is still room to grow. I like being able to quickly see the results of single email on the client's page, the overall design layout of each client's all messages page is nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

the UX of the website is under-developed. It's easy to miss key options when scheduling an email for example (Date & Time should be highlighted in some way.) I've also scheduled emails to go out where they have skipped deliveries because the recipient segment was also accidentally selected on the exlude list - however, this should prompt an error on the verify delivery page, not be scheduled and bounced later. What do you like best?

The flexibility of the platform and the large number of features available. Segmentation and scheduling message is very easy to do. The interface for creating triggered messages is also very well done and easy to use. Personalization and automation is also very simple. Improvements have been made recently to contact imports and they are much faster than they used to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Reports and exports take a long time to generate and SMS text messaging is not affordable through the platform. I wish the SMS was cheaper so we could have both email and text messaging under the same platform. The overall cost of the platform is also fairly high when you have a large email list or send a large volume of email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
