My favorite thing about Brightidea is how quick and easy it is to setup new sites that are tailor-made for a department or initiative. After having administered our main innovation intake portal for a while, the many scoring and idea management tools were simple to deploy for different uses, like tracking project statuses, assigning accountability to leaders, and moving ideas through management workflows. Customized reports, task management, and file management are areas in which I struggled using Brightidea, but the customer success team was always ready to find solutions. I like how BI allows all in our organization to meet on one social media style site where conversations can happen in a line of sight to everyone else. The BrightIdea platform has been a major boost to our firm as to how we can promote the concept of ideation and innovation. It is an incredibly easy to use platform for our staff with fantastic customer support, and we can easily customize it to suit our needs. Some of the interface for the setup is a bit clunky and confusing, and not everything can be customized easily unless you know HTML coding to dive into the details. What i like best about this great platform is how it is simple and easy to learn and manage. It makes it extremely easy to submit and collaborate on ideas. Good Quick Start information and great training support which is essential given the wide range of customiztion available which can be intimidating.

Customer support began with highly technical and business support members on the call to ask and answer question and to guide us to the right level of support needed quickly rather than starting with sales and escallting. Initially, we felt like Brightidea was to large and complex for our needs. We had to go do some comparative product analysis before we could apprecitate Bright Idea. It would have been helpful to have had some competitor analysis info up front.

We're a large company with a wide variety of needs. Brightidea gives us the capability to cull new ideas from across the corporation in a way we wouldn't be able to do otherwise. For the administrators, it's a simple tool to learn and manage, and for users, Brightidea makes it easy to submit and collaborate on ideas. The downsides to me, specifically, pertain more to the admin-side of the tool. There are definitely glitches we've grown accustomed to work around because it's almost easier that way, like adding pictures to a challenge page, header graphic dimensions, or changing font size/text/color in a Rich Text box, etc. I also seem to run into the same conversation with other admins and challenge sponsors about running excel reports, e.g. report options being kind of all over the place/having to know where to look, having to pull multiple reports for all the data you want/need and then compile them together, etc. A lot of our initiatives rely on the reporting and it makes for a less hands-off experience for the admin when they have to keep pulling reports and piece-mealing things for challenge sponsors. Some limitations to advanced yet easy web page creation (sharepoint pages are cooler now. BI still needs CSS knowledge to hack into the page for advanced setup).

Brightidea is easy for all of our employees to use, from posting ideas to voting and commenting on ideas. Single sign-on integrates Brightidea with our tech stack seamlessly.
