What do you like best about Brave?
Brave Browser basically takes everything good with Google Chrome and takes it a level up. The built in ad blocker, tracker blocker and various other tools help improve my privacy. For me my favourite part is the home screen that always shows home many trackers have been blocked along time/bandwidth I saved.
There are many browsers with built-in privacy features, that I like. But, the issue is the lack of compatibility with extensions like Grammarly and Ubersuggest. But, since Brave is built on a solid foundation of Google Chrome, it has native support for all pre-existing Google Chrome extensions. Furthermore, the setup, and configuration are easy since it directly connects to your Google account and import a lot from your existing browser.
I personally love the settings page as well, as it provides me far more convenient way of navigating and finding relevant things.
Brave Rewards is ideal for me to earn few bucks monthly for watching Brave's own privacy-friendly ads in an unobstructive way.
My work requires me to frequently access sites that are restricted in my country. The built-in support for private browsing with Tor is ideal for the same, I can easily copy a link in Private Window with Tor for accessing.
One thing that no other browser (apart from Safari) does is multi-device integration. I have my phone and laptop linked, so when I find work related URL, I simply click share and select my device to recieve it on my laptop, saves me the whole time of reading and manually typing the URl.
In addition, on my laptop I can easily generate a QR that allows anyone to scan and open my currently open URL. Its a handy life saver for collaborating with colleagues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Brave?
The fact that Brave is built on Chrome is its strength as well as weakness. I have already discussed strenghts.
In terms of weakness, whenever Google Chrome recieves a new update, I don't get the new cool thing on my browser for Months, because I assume Brave has to get the latest Chrome then make their own modifications for many days before its made available to me.
As a web-based business firm, sometimes the lack of timely delivery of such features is a bit painful.
Still, I love it. Have been using Brave for 3 years, will keep using it using for many more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
