Brave is a very functional browser because, being developed based on Chromium, it has a lot of similarity with the Chrome browser. In fact, it is possible to install any Google Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store. In terms of privacy, this is where Brave stands out the most, because compared to any other browser, Brave has two different types of private tabs. The first is the traditional private tab that works very similarly to any other browser, and the second option is presented as an incognito window using the Tor network, which allows the user to browse completely anonymously as all aspects of tracking and location have been controlled to increase privacy.

They replace native ad banners on websites with their own, and pay you BAT (Basic Authentication Token) cryptocurrency to view them. If you prefer you can turn ads off completely, but won't earn any BAT. They estimate at current BAT prices the average user will make about $60-$70 per year.

**What do you dislike about Brave?**

The reason I didn't give a higher rating is because they were just discovered to be adding affiliate links to sites such as Binance. The problem with this is that it made the browser trackable, even in a private window. The company said they were unaware of this, and are in the process of removing it.

The unique approach and privacy that it provides is top in it's class. Very similar to google chrome, but 100 x better. With its build in crypto option this is a no brainer. Even with the built in tor. For those that don't really think about privacy, it only takes one attempt to change your mind. As a victim of impersonation. ### 40. Excellent privacy-centric browser that rewards you for use and blocks ads, but needs work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Brave?**

I like that the Brave browser is adamant on security and non-tracking, unlike other popular browsers. You can also earn BAT (cryptocurrency) by using it. I use Brave regularly and earn about $5-7/mo just browsing. If crypto goes up, the value of my BAT increases as well. The browser itself operates mostly like Chrome but with increased privacy and rewards. Brave also includes an Ad-Blocker which is helpful.

You can still use the same plugins that you used in Chrome as well. It also has a mobile version that works pretty good. Brave does include it's own version of ads that you can turn off or increase to earn a little bit more.

**What do you dislike about Brave?**

There are still several sites that Brave does not play well with. For most of these sites that have issues, you can turn off the "Brave Shield" to allow compatibility but even with that option, there are some sites that I simply have to switch over to Chrome to use. This has gotten better but it is still a big issue with Brave.

**Recommendations to others considering Brave:**

I recommend installing Brave and giving it a try. Here is a tip - go in to settings and increase the amount of Ads that are shown up to 5 Ads/hr. This will help you receive the most amount of BAT currency for browsing.

**What problems is Brave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brave solves the problem of tracking and lack of privacy online. It offers a Chrome-like solution that makes me feel safer online while knowing that my cookies and other information are not being spread online. Brave also blocks the annoying ads that typically show up all over the internet and instead offers a small ad (optional) occasionally in the lower right that grants you crypto for viewing. Also, it is an excellent way to earn cryptocurrency while doing what you were already going to do - browse the internet.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maurizio C. | Developer and Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Brave?**

Fast browsing, great interface, tired of ads? Brave is giving you the solution or you get rewarded if you watch them. It gives you the total of ads and trackers that have been blocked and the time saved ... Very easy and simple to use, with one click you can import favourites and settings from other browsers.

**What do you dislike about Brave?**

Brave is the new kid on the block and it has to gain its presence. If you use Chrome or Firefox, you will leave Brave on the side for the time being ... but It may be a mistake. So far I was not able to pinpoint downturns.

**What problems is Brave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I build websites and while Chrome is my primary browser, Brave has been elected to be my second browser where I run the testing. It is very fast and a real help in cross-browsing testing. We get used to our browser and it is difficult to switch to a new one because of the differences that we can find. With Brave the only difference that I have found that can prevent me to switch ... temporarily, is the absence on a starting page with all my links ... but I have contacted the developers and they will build a connection for me. After that I will switch from Chrome to Brave.

**Reviewed by:** Alex R. | Information Technology Support Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Brave?**

Brave is a browser that has gradually positioned itself as one of the alternatives to improve our online privacy and is that there are more and more websites that are responsible for extracting our private browsing information that is later converted into advertisements, with Brave We can put a stop to this situation and it is that thanks to its native functions it allows us to block trackers, cookies and advertisements thus achieving a little more privacy when browsing the web, in addition to this it has an incognito mode that integrates navigation through the tor network to achieve greater privacy by hiding our real ip address, Brave really has features and functions that seek to increase both privacy and online security

**What do you dislike about Brave?**

I have been using brave for a long time since its first beta versions specifically, and in all this time there have been several errors that have been solved, making today a completely stable version of the browser that has virtually no errors.

**Recommendations to others considering Brave:**

Brave is a browser that in addition to allowing us to increase our online privacy allows us to have greater control over it and is that it offers the possibility of activating or deactivating the functions of blocking trackers or advertisements according to the websites we visit, so It is advisable to disable these functions on websites of banks or secure payment gateways to avoid errors in transactions.

**What problems is Brave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it as a default browser and its privacy protection functions for me are very valuable because they allow me to navigate more peacefully and also effectively avoid all the large amount of advertising that exists online, with this I save a lot of time and I stay focused on what is really important.

  ### 50. Simple browser with additional privacy features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josue G. | System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Brave?**

It is a browser that was created with the purpose of responding to modernization, a fairer proposal for online advertising, with the inclusion of a compensation system. Once the user installs the browser, Brave creates a BAT virtual currency wallet in which a percentage of the revenue from advertising will be transferred. This proposition becomes the payment to users for browsing using Brave. The user decides what to do with the money, whether to use it for their own benefit or donate it to the publishers. The vision of generating money with the simple fact of using the browser is quite interesting.

**What do you dislike about Brave?**

More than a specific situation, it is something that I would like Brave developers to evaluate. Sometimes, certain websites do not display their content correctly due to the blocking of some crawlers. It would be excellent if they improved that aspect by developing some compatibility mode in which the page is shown complete without compromising user privacy.

**Recommendations to others considering Brave:**

Brave will help you block the advertising of the videos you play, to enjoy without interruptions and without the need to install any additional extension, it will also offer you benefits such as browsing without your identity being tracked, generating tokens and blocking advertising. In my experience I think that Brave is the solution that I recommend 100%.

**What problems is Brave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate that Brave is the browser that produces in me the security of having control of the important data that I handle in my work, without giving up stability or browsing speed because Brave is ideal for that task. We know that other browsers install some extensions that could provide a similar level of privacy and security. However, it may result in possible failures due to compatibility or a decrease in browser performance. Fortunately, that does not happen with Brave, since all functions have been designed and implemented natively to ensure stability.
