  ### 8. A pleasant, versatile code editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jose l. | Great tool for packet capture, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Other feature is that Brackets shows a pop-up with the previsualization for colors and images in css The interface it's minimalist, clean and beatitul, also you can change the theme There are many extensions for adding more features to Brackets and if you want you can create your own plugin

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

The readability is little difficult because of the dark background, perhaps the weakest point is that the initial installation lacks some very useful features such as seeing the files we are working with by tabs - The server that incorporates internally to be able to show the final design in the browser natively only supports html, I think this is easy to solve by incorporating some more robust web server.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

I would recommend its use as it is a very complete editor that supports multiple files and languages such as html, css, javascript, PHP, among others, also allows us to make changes in real time visualizing the changes as we are doing it.. What I liked the best about using Brackets is the integration it has with Photoshop. That was the number one feature as well as the page interactivity.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

The biggest issue I have with Brackets is the performance of it when working in a bigger code set and the lack of an extension marketplace.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brackets solved the issue of UI mocks being different than HTML, CSS UI's built. The tools that are built-in helps make sure that whatever the designer designs are built during development.

  ### 10. Good looking code editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roberto G. | Software Programmer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is a very attractive and visually attractive code editor for the development of code, especially very useful for the development of web applications due to its support for php, css and javascript for those who implement the auto-completion function in a very accurate way and intuitive.

The application works very well in different operating systems such as Windows or MacOS Sierra. Also add that the application is very light both in what occupies the disk as once loaded in memory, its CPU usage is very low which is surprising when its nice interface time.

The theme by default is very successful and combines very well with the icons that the application brings, the font chosen is also a great success, all this combines to make one of the best visual code editors.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

As far as the application is concerned, I have not found anything negative worth putting here except perhaps because not being as popular as other code editors it is more complicated to find documentation or help on the internet because your community is not so extensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

I recommend using this code editor especially for programmers or website designers since this tool is specialized in this field and it is very comfortable to create code in it, you can try the application as much as you want because it has no additional cost. Also if you are a programmer with sight problems like me, you can choose a dark theme that will help you if you spend many hours in front of the computer.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking for a code editor better than the default notepad that my operating system brings, and I needed at least that it had autocomplete and default templates for HTML, PHP, CSS and JS besides that it would have a nice interface in sight and possibility to change the theme of the application to a dark one. Brackets fulfilled all this and also free of charge.

  ### 11. The best beginner Code Editor?

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is super simple to use, customise and get working. It doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not and performs exactly how you want and expect it to.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

With its simplicity comes some restrictions. I don’t think I’d edit anything past a HTML, CSS, JS file in here. Mainly because of the menu layout, but mainly because VS Code just has a little bit more support for extensions etc

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s the platform I started to learn how to develop web pages on and has been a super solid foundation. The simplicity it provides is always something I return to.

  ### 12. Great text editor with very nice look and feel

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael K. | Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is a simple and fast but powerful text editor, much of its charm is that it is a very light application when it is fully loaded in memory. I've checked it and even with several plugins or theme changes it stays very light.

Mainly I have used Brackets for simple editions in configuration files and HTML (and some CSS). Its interface is very friendly and beautiful, the latter is very appreciated because programmers tend to create very good tools but at the same time complicated and poorly ordered, in this aspect Brackets is an exception.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

The preview does not work well under certain circumstances, it reminds me a lot when I used Eclipse that sometimes the application crashed while designing the GUI of some program, here it does not crash the application completely but if it gives an error, although it is true that it is not something Very common, I barely spend 3 or 4 times in years.

Another negative aspect, which for me is not, but I see that many people put it as a failure of Brackets, the application is not an IDE, nor intends to be, although you can use it as such you can not demand the same, but a doing it fulfills quite well.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

I would recommend Brackets to those users who are looking for a text editor for programming or as a default editor for simple editions because Brackets is not only fast and fluid, it is also free and visually very nice unlike the editors that come by default in the different current operating systems.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed an editor that could be used for different tasks, edit simple configuration files, web pages in HTML, style files etc ... with this application I can easily edit any type of file with good results...

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose M. | Freelance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is one of the best code editors, especially for HTML5 and CSS3. The reasons why I love this software are that it is open source, it can be obtained without paying anything for its usage license from its website. It is cross-platform, with versions available for Linux, Windows, and iOS. It is multi-tab, allowing you to work on several different web pages at the same time. Additionally, there is the possibility to switch to its browser view from a button in the Brackets interface, which greatly facilitates the design task for us. Brackets is highly customizable, as we can adapt different aspects of the graphical interface to our liking. It offers support for all reserved words in HTML5 and CSS3, featuring color distinction and various aids. Of course, other languages are also recognized, such as JavaScript, Python, or PHP. It is a program offered in many languages and different plugins and libraries made by users can be added to increase the number of functionalities of the program.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Brackets has very few things that I dislike, but I will comment on a few.
Code folding is not allowed, something that is usually useful in documents with many lines.
Online collaborative editing is not allowed.
It will associate all the PHP files on your computer with the program by default after being installed, I think at least we should be given the option to disable it.
Other than that, I'm delighted with Brackets.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Highly recommended, free, and very useful for web development.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brackets and Notepad++ are the two programs we work with for creating websites in HTML and JavaScript, with CSS3 for design. We love both programs. Perhaps Brackets organizes extensive projects better.

  ### 27. Very good code editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ana Belen R. | GESTIÓN DE ADMINISTRACIÓN/ SECRETARIA DE DIRECCIÓN/ TÉCNICO DE PROYECTOS, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

As more favorable things that I have seen just starting to use it is that it is available for many languages, more than 20, and all the most used operating systems.
Additionally, it is free, open-source, and regularly updated.
It is a very complete program for those of us starting to write code, as it has very useful functions like text autocomplete or live preview, with which we can see in real-time the changes we are making on a web page.
It has a large number of plugins and themes with which many features and visualizations can be added, making it more powerful and attractive.
Very good when it comes to writing code in HTML, JavaScript, or CSS.
With the directory tree view, files or folders can be dragged and dropped easily.
Another advantage is that websites can be opened remotely via HTTP and HTTPS.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Perhaps the weakest point is that in the initial installation it lacks some very useful features like viewing the files we are working with in tabs. Although this is easily solved by installing the appropriate plug-in. The configuration of the application's preferences is a bit complicated for those of us who are starting to program, as we have to modify a JSON file.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

It would be advisable for several utilities, which must be added later with plug-ins such as code folding, emmet, or the tab manager, to be incorporated into the primary installation.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped me to easily modify certain parts of my company's website code.

  ### 28. Brackets review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

It helps in identifying and searching in a document easier and its very convenient for coding and comparing.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Sometimes it cannot handle more documents and saving becomes an issue

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Code comparison and Search

  ### 29. Low barrier to entry text editor for markup

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

I like that Brackets is low barrier to entry and very lightweight. It requires minimal configuration to be productive in HTML, CSS

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

It has limited tooling in comparison with heavier weight text editors like VS Code, Sublime, Atom so I never used it for development work. I used it for markup (HTML, CSS)

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Use this for markup not for development

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has limited tooling in comparison with heavier weight text editors like VS Code, Sublime, Atom so I had problems using it for development work.

  ### 30. Extremely Helpful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

I love that I can work on multiple files all in the same window without having to open each of my working files when editing things. Like most programs, brackets finishes my open and close cells which you don't realize how much time it saves you until you're editing in your email provider and don't have the same luxuries.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

There isn't really anything I can think of that I don't like about it honestly. It would be awesome if there was a searchable database of sorts for we novices to look for advice in without having to go to the web for answers. I.e, formatting, CSS and such, basic HTML information, etc. I know for advanced programmers and software pros that may not be the most helpful thing. But for people just getting started, or only using it for HTML and CSS, it would be super helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

There are a handful of options out there, so choose the one that is reliable, user-friendly, and efficient.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create and edit personalized and one of a kind material for my company to publish and share information with our customers. That alone makes it everything I need and more.

  ### 31. a clean and simple text editor tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

My favorite feature of Brackets is "Live Preview". It is exactly what it sounds like: a live sample of your code. But its a bit more intuitive than just displaying exactly as a browser might. As you hover over code it highlights the relevant region in the preview, and the reverse is true if you hover of the region in preview.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

It seems to me that Brackets returns error messages on javascript and jQuery code more than average. It might be something small like using a "$" and Brackets declaring that "$" is undefined (even though jQuery is linked in the file). This may be user error on some level, but all the same I feel it bears mentioning.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

It's easy to look at and easy to use. We live in a day and age where many TextEditors have similar functions and thus are difficult to appear unique, but Brackets easily fills most roles you would need it to. My one concern is the error detection functionality in Javascript / jQuery.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for relatively small coding projects. I've gotten most use out of using it to code pieces of my portfolio site, some freelance work, and personal projects. The text size, text color, and background color are all customizable, which has proven handy.

  ### 32. Recommended for New Coders

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler M. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is bright, well organized, and intuitive to use. It feels lightweight and is not overwhelming like many other code editors. It loads up really fast.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

I wish it was more easily customizable — there is a large left-hand column that I never use that I wish I knew how to hide.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Wonderful if you're somewhat new to coding or will be doing a lot of lightweight web design (HTML, CSS, & Javascript)

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brackets is an intuitive and attractive code editor that is great for writing in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHP. It can handle way more than that, too.

  ### 33. A modern open-source text content editor for web design.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marina T. | Software developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

The thing I like the most is that we can keep the code preview and it's faster. If it's the simultaneous use of different programming languages, then it's a nice option to write the code. The best part I really like because it's lightweight, simple, and easy to use, tools can be added to it that facilitate development and the productivity it has by no means am I dissatisfied on every occasion, I've even used it.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Sometimes, it is difficult to navigate through brackets if you are managing a huge company. I have more problems with brackets because the file encoding tries to open an HTML document that was not encoded in UTF8, and I had to use another tool to convert it first before it can be edited. It cannot be used to copy databases and, as a result, it is not always suitable for back-end web development. The manipulation of returned end statistics is also difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

The supports are easy and loose and very personalized. Easy to use, easy interface, and color-coded to help customers, for example, a good primary editor without libraries to aid intelligence. It is lightweight, but once you really start using the underlying tools, you will be surprised at how much more effective the software is.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Development of the front page for various clients. The greatest benefit I have discovered is that the code written in brackets looks clean and without issues. Working with a couple of files at the same time as the HTML + CSS files is easy with Brackets. I want to smooth and modify my HTML code. It helps me create and edit web pages for my clients quickly, speeding up programming and optimization.

  ### 34. Good Basic Coding Environment

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets has a very clean and simple layout

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

The interface is not intuitive at all despite its simplicity; when I first began using it I really had to play around with it to understand it. Need to save files very specifically with file extensions by hand, and left display sidebar gets crowded/not very customizable.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Brackets as part of a design project in JavaScript to write and link HTML/CSS files to JS files. It is nice for keeping everything in one place.

  ### 35. Good text editor for Web Developments

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

It is an excellent editor that will allow you to take the admission to the website where you work without major complications, it contains many useful complements that will help you to improve it. Its interface is simple, the autocomplete function is very good, like the auto format function, it is quick to work front-end sites

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

You do not have many options to work on Chrome-only browsers, and user support is not very good either

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was a common text editor at work especially to do web development work, what I like about this editor is how simple it is to work, I save a lot of headaches using a simple editor to one with functionalities not very necessary or heavy for the system that delayed my work

  ### 36. Best free code editor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

What I love about brackets is that it's a free open source code editing program and has a big online community.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

It has bugs. For example sometimes the live view feature wouldn't work for some reason

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Its a great free tool and would recommend trying to use plugging which can make life a little easier.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me create websites using html and css

  ### 37. Fast and Stable Editor For All Development Purposes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saksham G. | Information Technology Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is free to use editor for website development and regular coding purposes. It is fast and simple and easy to use. It is suitable for HTML, CSS and Javascript development. It uses very less resources and hence it works very fluently without any problems. Many additional plugins and addons can also be installed to make it work even better for coding and development purposes.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

I like everything about brackets but it is suitable only for HTML ,CSS ,Javascript and other Front-End languages for web development. It cannot be used for handling databases and hence it it not suitable for Back-End Web Development. Manipulation of back-end data is also difficult with it.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Brackets is the best tool and it will surely support more features in future. It is the first choice for Front-End website developers. Everyone must feel it's amazing power and must start using it for development purposes.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently using Brackets for handling our official Oracle Website. We are using it for many years and it works very well when we have to make some modifications to our Website Front End code.

  ### 38. Powerful Modern Text Editor For Website Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** shashank s. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is lightweight yet powerful tool which i have used to do web development. It is so easy to write HTML code in it since it can auto-complete many lines and we don't need remember many things. We can instantly see the changes in our web page which make changes in CSS and HTML code. It is user-friendly, and it uses very less RAM and CPU speed so it works like charm on any computer. We can create and open file in many extensions and it makes life of a web developer very easy .

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

It is mainly for Front End Developers and it is not suitable for heavy coding practices. The user interface must be improved and more themes should be available. It must also be optimised for Back End development.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Brackets is free and easy to use. I recommend everyone to continue using it. It will be getting more optimised for web development which will make it a powerful tool. It is the best software for Front-End Web Development.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently developing front end of websites using brackets. It has really helped us a lot by making our work easy and less hectic. It is fast and robust.

  ### 39. Visualize your changes in real time thanks to Brackets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is not one of the best IDEs I have worked with, although Brackets offers a wide variety of tools that facilitate coding, and one of the best features it incorporates for me is the real-time website preview. You can make changes to the site, and it will automatically display them on the screen.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Its star feature, the real-time site visualization, is not very polished at the moment, it lacks great stability, experiencing crashes, blackouts... although this is normal when using Node, which only works with one core of the system, and this could be one of the main causes.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Brackets is free and customizable, it's worth trying and judging for yourselves.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brackets is free, which has saved us a lot of money over the past 3 years. Brackets continues to be updated, which is another point in its favor, so give it a chance despite these "issues mentioned above."

  ### 40. Great for First time coders

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

I like the platform they have built, it was really easy for me to use as a first time coder!

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

It can take a bit of time to get used to all the features and figureing out how to stay organized

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Make sure it works for the platforms you use.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this for beginner coders to help them keep their code straight and learn the ropes.

  ### 41. An Excellent HTML-CSS Editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is a free HTML and CSS editor that has some very interesting features.
It allows you to create and edit a web page and its style in real time without having to reload the browser to see your changes reflected.
In the CSS editing part you can preview images and colors of the attributes of the tags.
It has an autocomplete that allows you to develop quickly.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

The negative part of brackets is that it is oriented to HTML and CSS, so to program in other languages such as PHP or Javascript it's better to use another text editor.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Brackets is an excellent option if you only want to edit and create HTML and CSS code.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use brackets to check changes in web pages without having to reload the browser, I can also see the SVG images created with the path tag.

  ### 42. It has everything we need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander H. | Paralegal, Law Practice, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

I am not a web developer and my company has nothing to do with web developing. I use it to update a primarily HTML webpage. Brackets is perfect for HTML and CSS. It replaced Dreamweaver for us. It has a great selection of addons and themes to make it more use friendly and expand functionality

Brackets recently gained the ability to update itself without have to manually download an update.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Its live preview tends to be very unstable, but you get what you pay for. If you need a live preview use Dreamweaver. It's beginning to get a little memory heavy now that have implemented automatic updates. It used to start a lot quicker.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Brackets is simple and free and very customization . Its definitely worth a try. I recommend using a dark theme, there are a few that make the product have the same coding colors as Dreamweaver which makes it easy to transition.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brackets is free. It allows our company to deploy our own internal websites and edit existing ones we would have paid someone else to update. It has saved us a great deal of money over the years.

  ### 43. Simple and Functional

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernanda N O. | Graphic Designer, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

The interface is not overwhelming and lets you do your job without any other interference. The "working files sidebar" lets you switch between two files quickly without having to change windows or opening a menu tab to be able to do so. But the thing I like best is that everything works with keyboard shortcuts... It makes your work easy and faster.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

I am not sure that this is a software problem or it is just my computer being lazy, but sometimes the app opens and the screen is frozen and nothing works. Then I have to close it (force quit, actually) and open it again until it is operating regularly. It happens frequently and is a bit annoying... But, again, this might be just my computer's problem. Not sure.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Easy to use, clean interface and coloured code to help the users.
Great product! You should give it a try!

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with multiple files at the same time (HTML + CSS files) is easy with Brackets. Everything is on a mouse-click reach and the interface is clean, avoiding distractions. Also, working with shortcuts is practical and saves me a lot of time.

  ### 44. Brackets - A no frills text editor

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Utkarsh S. | Leaders in Innovation Fellow, Public Policy, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets is a really simple yet powerful text editor for beginners to intermediate developers. The plethora of plugins is a boon especially for JavaScript editors. The open source nature of the software makes it really community driven which in turn brings a lot of features really quick.
Small things like hex to color code, popup previews, live browser server and vim mode are pretty neat.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Instability issues at times. Missing lower-case/upper-case conversions, resource consumption is a bit on the higher side which creates a sluggish experience for lower speced laptops.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Really quick and easy to go ahead with, especially with new developers. Considering little to no deployment time and configuration needed.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Brackets is a good one to get going fairly quickly.
No license and straight forward deployment makes it a real no brainer choice for us.

  ### 45. For Front end development, Brackets is as user friendly as it gets

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg G. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets has this sort of built-in CSS manager. It lets you go through your html file and right click on classes (or cmd click, I believe) to open up that class in the related CSS file. it's really great

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Beyond front end development, I don't love it. I much prefer using VS Code for other things. For basic web development, though, I really can't complain.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

Use it for front end dev work - it is great. For back end or things that may be a bit more involved, consider VS Code. Both are free, there is no reason you shouldn't try both.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not sure if I'd consider it a problem. I think I use it as a tool and I suppose that solves problems, but it is more of a vitamin than a pill. It enhances my front end dev work, but not much else.

  ### 46. Great Text editor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Brackets has access to many community created plugins for any need you could think of.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

I wish Brackets had a baked in javascript framework you could work with. But there may be a community plugin for that.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

There are many other editors but I would suggest trying out brackets even if you already use another one. for Web Developers it has a neat tool that lets you see a live preview of changes to a local webpage.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it primarily to quickly search through large files to find code. Helps me get what I need quickly.

  ### 47. My Favorite IDE for Web Development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kavish J. | Software Engineer Intern , Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Be it an html file, CSS file or js file, Brackets is the best for web development. I am currently using it for web development using react and Brackets help me to view my Package.json file and also the new split window feature allows me to compare codes by viewing two files at the same time. Also, I like the theme which Brackets provides. It is so soft on my eyes and it's because of that I can work for long hours without straining my eyes. Also, in brackets I can open project folders as well as individual files which makes it better than other text editors. Best part : it's free.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

The only think which I dislike about Brackets is that it sometimes crashes on my MacBook Pro 2017 with High Sierra OS. But this occurs rarely and hence Brackets is my favorite IDE for Web.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

I would definitely recommend Brackets for Web Development.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Brackets for Web Development and it helps me for faster development by auto refreshing the web pages when changes are being saved.

  ### 48. Great lightweight code editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

It's a lightweight, easy to use tool, and unlike some larger editors, it truly feels like a Mac app.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

The app closes everytime I close a window, I'd prefer the app remain active since I often work in different documents.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick code editing that doesn't require opening full projects in dedicated editors

  ### 49. Bracket Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

It's easy to learn, easy and efficient to use, preview feature works great, layout of the editor is also aesthetically pleasing. The auto-completion works well. It's easy to implement CSS, bootstrap, wireframing, responsive design, etc.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

The folder separation on the left column can be a bit annoying when you're trying to switch between projects and it's hard to change the location of a file from one place to another.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

It's a great text editor for beginners especially for web design.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I found it very great to use for web design and front-end web development. It's easy to show clients as well.

  ### 50. Amazing editor for all things related to Development and Scripting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Animesh J. | Senior Software Engineer, Graphics QA, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Brackets?**

Lots to like:
+ Lightweight
+ Dynamic code hinting/code completion
+ Lots of plugins to choose from
+ Integrated languages to choose from.
+ Most important: Chrome live view integration
+ Can be personalized
+ Better than Dreamweaver.

**What do you dislike about Brackets?**

Not much to dislike, I guess the live preview could be better. Sometimes there are issues attaching to the process (chrome).

Its not Visual studio, so do not expect the same from a full blown IDE product made by Microsoft.

**Recommendations to others considering Brackets:**

There is a small or moderate risk of a bigger company acquiring it. eg: Adobe, to kill competition.

**What problems is Brackets solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coming from Sublime and Dreamweaver, this is definately a good, stable IDE, even though it updates in a timely manner.
