"Simple, Reliable File Sharing with Time-Saving Integrations"

4/5

What do you like best about Box?

What I like most about Box is how simple and reliable it is for managing and sharing files within our team. The UI is clean, and integrations are so much of a time saver. I also like how we can assign roles and permissions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

Firstly, the thing I dislike about Box is that the platform can sometimes feel a bit slow when working with large files. Pricing also becomes expensive as our storage and team size grow. While I like the platform for how powerful it is, some advanced admin and permission settings have a bit of a learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

Box has helped us solve the challenge of managing and sharing files securely across teams. Instead of dealing with scattered documents and version confusion, everything stays organized in one place with easy access controls. It has improved collaboration significantly, especially for our marketing campaigns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure Collaboration and Better Document Control"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Box?

Strong security and compliance, with granular permissions, solid data governance, and support for regulated industries. The collaboration features are also very useful: teams can share files, leave comments, review documents, and work together without constantly emailing attachments back and forth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

It can feel expensive compared with consumer-focused alternatives like Google Drive or Dropbox, especially for smaller teams. The interface can also be complex: while the enterprise features are powerful, some users may find the admin settings and permissions system more complicated than what you get with simpler file-sharing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

For productivity: “Box helps us keep everyone working from the same version of a document, which cuts down on confusion and helps decisions move faster.”

For security and compliance: “Box gives us stronger control over who can access files and adds auditability, which helps us meet regulatory requirements.” Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless, Secure File Collaboration with Box"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Box?

What I like most about Box is how seamlessly it centralizes and secures all our files in the cloud. The platform makes collaboration straightforward, with reliable version control, easy sharing, and strong integrations with the tools we use every day. It keeps everything organized and accessible without complicating workflows Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

One thing I dislike about Box is that some of the more advanced settings and admin controls can feel a bit scattered, which makes certain tasks less intuitive. At times, file previews or large uploads can also be slower than expected, especially when working with heavy content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

Box helps solve the challenge of keeping files organized, secure, and accessible across teams and devices. It centralizes all our content in one place, which reduces duplication, improves version control, and makes collaboration much smoother. By having a reliable cloud platform with strong permissions and sharing features, we save time, avoid confusion, and maintain better control over our documents. "Box Feels Like a Complete Ecosystem for DWG Editing and Integrations"

4/5

What do you like best about Box?

Box provides a lot of app integrations that make it easy to work with stored data. I especially like that I can edit DWG data directly without having to move the files to another place. The built-in preview is really good, and the option to edit using Ares Kudo or send files via email directly, along with many other services, makes it feel like a complete ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

I’ve had a few issues with the commenting services in the AresC app, along with similar communication problems. At times it also feels laggy, especially when working with DWG files. In general, accessing the same files multiple times tends to cause problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me communicate and collaborate on DWG data with engineers on site or on the shop floor, while also consistently updating customers on changes directly through the CAD application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Granular Permissions, Smooth Box Drive Integration, and AI-Powered Summaries That Save Time"

5/5

What do you like best about Box?

From an administrative standpoint, box handles granular permissions better than most cloud file shares we've deployed. Setting up distinct access tiers like preventing downloading while still allowing in browser viewing makes managing external vendor folders significantly safer. For our general staff the box drive desktop integration is what keeps them happy. It maps right into the native file explorer on windows and Mac so they don't have to keep a web browser tab open just to update spreadsheets or pull templates.

Lately the new AI feature inside box hubs have been a massive time saver for our operations team especially when trying to quickly summarize long legal agreements or pull without skimming all 40 pages manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

The file sync engine can feel incredibly sluggish during heavy morning traffic, particularly if you're trying to push large video files or thick CAD designs into shared directories. We've hit a few sync errors where users get locked out of editing because box thinks someone else still has the file open locally, forcing a manual override or a machine restart.

Also, the built in notification system leaves a lot to be desired.

The foundational tier is reasonable but the moment you need advanced security governance tools the per seat pricing increases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before moving to box, our organization was completely fragmented across scattered physical hard drives, personal google accounts, and local network servers that constantly broke down whenever off-site employees tried to VPN in. Box solved our core remote collaboration bottleneck.

Now, our field teams can upload site photos or contact updates straight from their mobile apps, and the back office sees it instantly.

For the IT department it centralizes our data compliance footprint. We handle a lot of proprietary project files and having a single admin console where we can run audit logs monitor external links and track exactly who downloaded what document gives us the security assurance we need to stay fully audit complaint without micromanaging daily file sharing. "Rock-Solid Version Control and Granular Permissions with Box"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Box?

For and end-user perspective, Box is extremely reliable when it comes to version control. There is no need to worry whether your changes have been updated or whether you're accidentally working on top of another colleague's version because of auto-locking and version history, Box Drive allows offline functionality that does not take up too much space on your computer.

While talking about the administrator's experience, the detailed folder permission setting make it the best solution possible. it is extremely useful to have access settings at the sub-folder level (View vs. Preview vs. Edit). Besides, the Administrator's Console provides very clear user activity statistics, while setting up SSO and Active Directory support was easy and not headache-inducing like in case of some other enterprise-level software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

The interface of the Web can be rather slow, especially when you attempt to drag or re-arrange huge batch folder at once - it may feel like you are doing clicks without any results. Moreover, the search indexing of the system is quite efficient, but in case you are searching for a very specific keyword located within a huge PDF document, there can be too many irrelevant matches pulled up from history before you get to the right file. Finally, from the admin point of view, the management of the external user;s licensing can become a real trouble to deal with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

We got Box in order to solve our "silos of data" problem where various teams were jumping between local servers, individual cloud storages, and emailing files. This has solved the problem of our secure file sharing system, particularly for onboarding remotely.

The best feature of it has been the security and compliance. For an administrator like me, being sure that the process of data retention has been automated and that if an employee has left the company or his device has been stolen, then i have an option to revoke their access to sensitive data immediately without affecting others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple File Sharing and Powerful Search for Daily Use"

4/5

What do you like best about Box?

As a daily user, uploading and sharing files is really simple, and the feature I use every day is the search function. Searching and finding files with a specific name or similar name, I find the files I need with ease and can easily browse the Box folders using my PC's file browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

It can at times be slow, or would randomly crash when searching for files. But a restart usually fixes many of my Box issues and the file renaming at times just does not respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

Projects we do need storage or backup, because the files we use are usually references for future jobs/projects. Then once final files are ready to send the the client, we'd normally share a Box link to the folders that we've created with all final files for delivery. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Box Makes Team File Sharing Easy, Organized, and Secure"

5/5

What do you like best about Box?

Box is good for keeping files organized across a team without everyone sending attachments back and forth. I liked the folder sharing, version history and permission controls. The preview feature is also useful because you can quickly check PDFs, docs and presentations without downloading everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

The permission system is powerful, but sometimes too many options make it confusing. It’s easy to wonder whether someone has view access, edit access or access through a shared folder. Search is okay, but not always perfect when you have a lot of files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps avoid messy file sharing. Instead of digging through email attachments, everything stays in one shared location. Box makes it easier to manage access and track changes. It saves time because people can open the latest file directly instead of requesting it again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Organized File Management for Daily Work"

5/5

What do you like best about Box?

I use Box in my project to manage and share client-related documents like API specifications, integration documents, test reports, and release files. In my day-to-day work, I organize files into folders based on modules or releases so that it’s easier to track changes over time.

A common scenario is during client discussions instead of searching through emails, I directly open the required document from Box and share the link. I also use permission settings to control access when sharing with different teams or external users. Version history is useful as well, especially when multiple updates are made to the same document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

Uploading large files sometimes takes more time than expected, especially when multiple files are uploaded together. Also, when there are many nested folders, it can take a few extra steps to navigate to the exact file. Managing permissions across multiple folders requires attention to avoid giving incorrect access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

Earlier, documents were shared over email or stored across different systems, which made it difficult to maintain a single source of truth. For example, during client calls, different team members sometimes referred to different versions of the same document, which caused confusion.

Now with Box, all documents are stored in one place with proper version control and access management. I can share a single link with the client and update the same document when needed, ensuring everyone is always working on the latest version. This has reduced duplication, improved collaboration, and made document management more structured in our project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Granular Security Controls, Strong Reporting, and Reliable Search"

5/5

What do you like best about Box?

As an Admin the sheer granularity of the security controls and permissions levels is what keeps us on Box. We handled a lot of external vendor contract and strict compliance data, so being able to restrict downloading or printing right at the folder level while still letting people preview document is s huge plus the box shield add-on has also given us great visibility into anomalous download and restricted content leaks without throwing a million false positives.

the reporting tolls are a lifesaver. when legal or HR asks for an audit log of who accessed a specific file three month ago. i don't have to sweat. I can pull a clean report in a few clicks. Also, the silent deployment for the desktop app via MDM (like JAMF/Intune) actually works without breaking existing user configurations, which saves the IT team a ton of manual labor during onboarding.

From a daily user perspective, the web UI is clean. The search functionality actually works well-it indexes text inside PDFs and spreadsheets quickly, which saves me from digging through nested folders when i only remember a project code or a specific clause.

The platform is built perfectly for enterpris-grade file sharing. the permission management is incredibly robust being able to restrict downloads, edits, or print capabilities at a highly granular folder level gives us complete peace of mind when dealing with external vendors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

while the platform is power ful it does have a minor learning curve. on the admin side managing deeply inharited permissions across a massive folder tree can sometimes feel overwhelming an the admin console UI could benefit form a more modern, streamlined layout.

For daily users, Box Drive (the desktop app) works fine most of the time, but it can occasionally lag or hit sync glitches if someone is working on a spotty home Wi-Fi. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Box solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before Box, we were struggling with a messy mix of local file servers and disorganized personal cloud drives which was a nightmare for version control and compliance. Box centralized everything for us.

it has dramatically streamlined our external collaboration we can now securely share huge files with clients set external collaboration we can now securely share huge files with the client set expirations dates on links and maintain a clear audits trails of who accessed what it takes the manual guesswork out of data security for the it team while keeping the daily workflow frictionless for the rest of the staff.
