There were times when I could not figure out who had an assistant and if they did what their name was. Now that everything is in one place it helps put a lot. **What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?** One of the frustrating things is that with all the changes that happened there is no way to see where the name of the assistant or their scheduler is located on the main page. I can see the relationship however I cannot see the EA field anymore. **What problems is Bonterra EveryAction solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently, EveryAction is not helping me solve anything. In the past, EA helped with trying to set up events within EA. The turnaround was super helpful and quick. I did not wait for more than a day or two. ### 12. EveryAction's "Create A List" feature allows us to combine multiple criteria and queries to do this more effectively. As we got underway, the new customer team uses Trello to organize tasks and benchmarks, which is a useful way to keep track of next steps. They also were more than happy to hold Zoom chats to go over issues as we brought them up and to check in. The support team accessible by email is very responsive. **What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?** The Help Center is pretty useless; it is written in very technical language and does not find (or contain?) instructions for more "human" phrased questions that new users are likely to have. Fortunately, the support team available by email is quite responsive, but there is only so much they can do with the tool. Though they offer hours of one-on-one chat, by Trello or Zoom call, the burden was really on us to figure out what we needed to know rather than there being a solid orientation on all of its elements. For our particular use, we needed to integrate EveryAction with our member-driven website; and the app development team has been woefully neglectful in building out webhooks and other API-related tools that allow this. We ended up spending eight weeks and paying an external developer to create a tool to do this, and even then, EveryAction's people kept changing how it could work, costing us more than budgeted. We continue to have some issues with this aspect of it due to lack of communication or capacity in their app team. The Targeted Emails system is very poorly designed compared to MailChimp (from which we were migrating). They do not provide for saved custom templates and it's a little clunky in designing emails. Overall, they need to move away from buying up competition and invest in their app development team, help documentation, and new customer orientation. **Recommendations to others considering Bonterra EveryAction:** If you need a comprehensive tool, it's one of the best. But be very clear on expectations in advance and their ability to meet them within the timeframe. Assume nothing. It would also be very helpful to already have someone on staff with a strong sense of data management (including intermediate or higher Excel expertise) in charge of or closely engaged in the transition. **What problems is Bonterra EveryAction solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've only been using EveryAction for about a month, but can see the potential for better donor engagement. ### 13. It's also good to be able to store so much data in a single contact record. There are many ways to sort users and contacts into a list. **What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?** It is difficult to navigate around different sections of EA, for example [Online Actions] has a different interface from the main menu of EA and clicking to return to the main menu opens up a new tab. I don't like how, when I am scrolling contacts in a list or looking over users and want to look at the next person on the list, I have to return to the list and then click the next person in the list; it would be a lot easier to be able to switch contact records/user info on the actual contact record/user info page. It would be nice to be able to view the event calendar from the sidebar, and rearrange/edit the categories shown in the sidebar. The list searching can be kind of inconsistent and confusing to use.. For example, some search criteria such as [Online Forms] have include/exclude option, but the overall search step also has an add/remove option, and using those together is hard to understand. **What problems is Bonterra EveryAction solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've been able to transfer all data from google sheets into EveryAction, and it's has made it a lot easier to organize who has been doing what. Also I like being able to enter contact records so that my team and I can better coordinate our outreach. ### 14. Some sites have a button with an up arrow near the scroll bar so that you can tap it when you want to quickly reach the top of the page again. I think that could be helpful. I also really dislike the tutorials. Customer service is always very kind and try their best to help problem-solve. There are so many features, there's always something new to learn. **What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?** I think while customer service is very nice, sometimes there are problems they aren't sure how to fix, especially if you're using a lot of features or want to really customize your experience. We also switched account managers a bunch because of recent high turnaround, I think. **Recommendations to others considering Bonterra EveryAction:** Have one person work closely with an EA customer service rep so that they can be the admin and then they can help teach everyone else. I am able to test emails before it goes out plus repurpose any email to various audiences. The ability to create a saved search is great functionality since it allows you to add custom saved search and list to different decision diamonds on the email campaign and automation. **What do you dislike about Bonterra EveryAction?** It's challenging that you are not able to bulk delete the contacts. Also merging duplicate contacts is very time-consuming, we have to review contacts one by one and click the confirmation button several times. I think it can be improvised. The targeted email is a little bit challenging, drag and drop doesn't give much flexibility to design the email therefore I had to code the email in HTML language first, which increases my time to generate and deploy emails. Importing bulk contacts is challenging because it doesn't give you a tooltip about additional mapping, I had to go through several iterations to properly migrate the data. Overall EveryAction is a good product, it's just a few enhancements are necessary to make it best. **Recommendations to others considering Bonterra EveryAction:** I will suggest this product to the medium size companies who have a customer base between 1K to 20K. This is because there are many functions that are manual and time-consuming so if you have a large customer base then it may increase your manual work. The reporting functionality is better than most CRMs, but still has room for improvement. Many obvious features that have been present in previous supporter databases I've used don't exist here (event reminder emails, fully customizable reports, etc). Furthermore, customer support is very slow to get back to you with answers/solutions to your questions (sometimes months even with frequent reminders). Often, if it's beyond the most simple problem, the answer is, "it can't be done" or "you can pay extra for data services to do this." Whereas with previous databases I've worked with, customer support would work with you to create a solution that fit your needs with no extra charge. Furthermore, several features we were told we would have when we signed our contract ended up being unworkable after we had migrated to Every Action.
