"Bold Reports: A Powerful and User-Friendly Reporting Solution"
4/5
What do you like best about Bold Reports?

We use Azure to host several different Bold Reports environments for dev, test, and production purposes.

The Bold Reports UI is very user friendly, and navigation between pages is reasonably responsive.

For us, we use Visual Studio to build all datasets and reports.

Those files are then seamlessly imported to the bold Reports environment.

My title with our company is a SSRS Developer, so I work in Visual Studio and Bold Reports every day.

The Bold Reports support team is great. And even with time difference, they've been very helpful in resolving any and all issues we may have reported.

They've also been great at considering/implementing new feature requests that we may have requested along the way.

We've had the embedded application integrated into our custom software ever since SyncFusion. With each update received it's only gotten better. Then, when the Bold Reports embedded application was incorporated, the overall look, performance, and functionality just skyrocketed.

Our client-base has reflected very positively on its ease of use and overall look/performance.

The scheduler is another heavily used feature that we've also integrated into our custom software.

There were some bumps in the road in getting it to work efficiently, but the support team with really great is getting any issues we were facing resolved.

Now our clients are able to schedule their own report in our software and has been running very well thus far.

Another great quality is that new features and performance improvements are being released on a regular basis.

This is always great for the end user.

So, our overall experience with Bold Reports has been great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bold Reports?

There isn't very much to dislike about the Bold Reports experience.

But, probably the biggest area needing improvement deals with the system logs.

There have been a few instances where a more detailed error message would've been very helpful, but the logs only produced a generic type of error message.

This has been requested in the past so I believe that is something they're working on to improve.

But, for how we use the system, there's really not much else that can be really labeled as a dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing SSRS replacement or fully extensible discrete reporting platform for ISVs"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Bold Reports?

Bold reports provided us with a direct off-ramp from SSRS and added new capabilities we had wanted to add to our application for a long time. Some of the major advantages of Bold Reports include:

- Direct replacement for our comprehensive library of existing SSRS reports

- Full embedding for report execution within our WPF and Blazor applications

- Comprehensive, embedded self-authoring functionality along with a desktop application to allow for report authoring by developers; also will support Visual Studio authoring.

- The pricing and license model is fair for ISVs

- Excellent support and onboarding - very responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bold Reports?

The only downside discovered thus far is that to extend into using Bold BI, the sister application suite for analytics and dashboards, a lightweight embedded model similar to Bold Reports, does not exist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cost-Effective but Convoluted Setup"
3/5
What do you like best about Bold Reports?

I appreciate Bold Reports for being a lightweight and flexible free software that is cost-effective. I find the cross-platform transparency and ease of deployment particularly useful. The ability to copy markup in the code and deploy it through Git enhances my workflow significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bold Reports?

I found the setup process for Bold Reports to be convoluted and not straightforward, which made it challenging to get up and running. Navigating the website and finding necessary setup components involved digging through complex menus, which was frustrating. Additionally, I believe that transforming the user interface could improve the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Bold Reports has been a great addition to our product."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Bold Reports?

Bold Reports has been a great addition to our Angular application. The report-building tools are robust and give our clients the flexibility to build their own reports using our OData API. We have a multi-site/multi-tenant setup, and it's easy to distribute a default set of reports and templates to each client's site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bold Reports?

We have been unable to implement the report scheduling feature effectively. It would be nice to see additional tools in Bold Reports that allow us to manage user authentication for external APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It is an easy to use tool for reporting."
5/5
What do you like best about Bold Reports?

Easy to use tool with variety of options. Designer, viewer and writer. I mostly use desktop designer and writer for .net core. Connecting databases is very simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bold Reports?

The designer doesn't support changes on preview and can't save the design if there is a generated report with that design via the writer. That slows the development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent versatility"
4/5
What do you like best about Bold Reports?

As a developer using C# and desktop applications, BoldReports is a great alternative to the previous ReportViewer developed by Microsoft for the .NET Framework, which became unavailable with the release of .NET Core several years ago. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bold Reports?

Perhaps the desktop options like WPF are not as developed as for other platforms like Blazor. But it is still a good alternative. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
