What I like about Board is the fact that it starts with a blank sheet for each and every company. With Board each company can create a solution which completely fits the organization's culture and way of working. Board is a no-code solution which makes is easy to interpret and understand. Screens and procedures can be created by drag and drop functionalities and it does not get more complex than IF statements, multiplications and divisions. Customers really need to dedicate their time to the project at the beginning together with the implementation partner to make sure that the basis of the model is robust and well considered. Board has permitted the company to centralize the finance reporting of different entities, from different countries, with different erps. In my company Board is used for BI and for strategic budgeting and forecasting. We have been using Board for several years because it has allowed us to develop targeted views for collaborative data entry, different calculation procedures for different cases, final report visualization, data segregation and visualization filters, access security for different users in terms of data displayed and screen visibility.

The modular system of Board allows for highly flexible customization, which is particularly beneficial for Assortment Planning and Merchandise Financial Planning. The speed at which changes can be implemented during the project is impressive, as adjustments can be made quickly and efficiently. Initially, a downside was the lack of direct data integration, which led us to implement a middleware solution. However, Board has since improved in this area, offering better integration options. Additionally, many exciting AI features have been added that weren’t available at the time of our initial implementation, making the software even more compelling for future projects. I like that Board boasts a powerful combination of flexiblity to develop anything that you'd like in regards to financial processes in a user-friendly application. The ability to start from scratch, setting up a data model with procedures and data readers (data ingestion) without much hassle or technical knowledge is such a pleasure. It allowed us to quickly create dynamic applications such as a reporting and budgeting tool or a financial consolidation application. Board is not easy to learn for beginners, requiring quite the introduction to get started. Although offered as a low-code tool, the technical (and analytical) knowledge required is quite present. Building something from scratch can be quite the challenge, often requiring expert guidance in the progress.
