What I like about Board is the fact that it starts with a blank sheet for each and every company. With Board each company can create a solution which completely fits the organization's culture and way of working. Board is a no-code solution which makes is easy to interpret and understand. Screens and procedures can be created by drag and drop functionalities and it does not get more complex than IF statements, multiplications and divisions. The idea of having a blank sheet from the start can also be a risk for implementations. Customers really need to dedicate their time to the project at the beginning together with the implementation partner to make sure that the basis of the model is robust and well considered. In case this dedication is not present it is very easy to run into problems at a later stage of the model because of design decisions that were made in the beginning. For me as a consultant I see that Board has been working very hard past year to work on the community and partner network to increase collaboration and knowledge sharing. Board has permitted the company to centralize the finance reporting of different entities, from different countries, with different erps. Our monthly closing has become faster, easier to view and analize. Each entity can rely on a tool that permit to trace the figures trade and financial position over the year. In my company Board is used for BI and for strategic budgeting and forecasting. We have been using Board for several years because it has allowed us to develop targeted views for collaborative data entry, different calculation procedures for different cases, final report visualization, data segregation and visualization filters, access security for different users in terms of data displayed and screen visibility. As a user board is easy to use because it is very intuitive. As a programmer, the drag-and-drop format makes the program easily customizable and implementable. I like that Board boasts a powerful combination of flexiblity to develop anything that you'd like in regards to financial processes in a user-friendly application. The ability to start from scratch, setting up a data model with procedures and data readers (data ingestion) without much hassle or technical knowledge is such a pleasure. It allowed us to quickly create dynamic applications such as a reporting and budgeting tool or a financial consolidation application. Board can also easily be used as a replacement of other reporting platforms, as it does reports and visualisations also out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Board? Board is not easy to learn for beginners, requiring quite the introduction to get started. Although offered as a low-code tool, the technical (and analytical) knowledge required is quite present. Building something from scratch can be quite the challenge, often requiring expert guidance in the progress. The licensing model is quite costly also, making it a choice wort considering before diving fully into it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
