At the top of your app you will notice a search icon, here you can type a keyword and select to search within all packs or just the current pack you are viewing, once done you will be shown a list of all areas that contain the chosen keyword/s, selecting one of these will take you directly to this point in the pack. When reading a pack you will also notice 3 black tabs along the bottom of your page titled "pages & bookmarks" and a third with a tag icon. Clicking the first will display a carousel style display of all pages within the pack, this allows for quick navigation, clicking the tag icon will apply a bookmark upon the page you are currently displaying. By clicking the "bookmarks" tab, all previously bookmarked pages will be displayed. Once you are finished with the page you can remove the bookmark by simply clicking the tag icon once more. I love the ability to sync between devices, annotate papers, share comments, and respond to comments shared with me. It's really easy to use. As someone sits on another board that doesn't use board intelligence, I find those papers far harder to review as I can't scribble my thoughts or comments all over them, which I'm used to doing on the Board Intelligence platform. I also love the templates which as an author help guide you on best practice. The training that we received as authors on how to write better papers was brilliant and the level of support from the board intelligence team to embed a new style of reporting was incredibly helpful. **What do you dislike about Board Intelligence?** The one challenge I have is when papers are replaced after I've read the pack, my annotations can move around. Our corporate governance team now knows not to replace papers last minute, and instead add as an additional paper to prevent this from happening. **What problems is Board Intelligence solving and how is that benefiting you?** Better decision making - we have more insightful papers that provide a greater level of clarity, detail and enable better conversations. The workload and printing costs before adopting Board Intelligence were simply unbelievable. I cannot even imagine how I coped. Board Intelligence allows me to put together a meeting pack in minutes, distribute at the click of a button and update or review at will. I know my Governors really value the ability to follow what is going on during the meeting, knowing exactly what page is being discussed and to have annotated and shared their thoughts directly on the page. The true value really came to the fore during the pandemic when all meetings were virtual for over a year. We would never have managed with an analogue system. **What do you dislike about Board Intelligence?** The only real downside is the temptation to provide too much information as it is so easy to include papers. Very often I have to question whether papers being provided really add to the topic or are just useful background. I have got better at culling but the temptation is always there **What problems is Board Intelligence solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to keep access to previous Committee papers on the Bookshelves, and therefore to quickly refer back to decisions from all the committees whatever meeting you are in is priceless and has improved the efficiency of the Governing Body immensely. The chairing of meetings, and particularly time mangement, have improved massively. Works well across multiple devices, inc with pens which i have seen many people use! **What do you dislike about Board Intelligence?** There are a few items i think would go along way in improving the platform based of experience with similar systems: 1) permissions - it seems a bit backward to have to give shelf permissions then to toggle these at the front end. When you have ad hoc attendance of users it is very clunky. Although i imagine a major reset a preferred approach would be to simply have the ability to add users to the meeting once you hit the first 'publish button'. You could even allow companies to make groups of users in the background and under the page to add people simple type in 'Board' and the x amount of users are added very quickly. 2) notification or flag what agenda items have been updated or added by indicated 'New' - a simple 'New' emblem next to any agenda items which have been added or changed since the pack was first published would be great. Mentioned by many directors at meetings as it would help direct them to what they need to review again. 3) sub-section header pages to break up continuous pack. Good to have ones for sub-sections and not just sections to break up the pack making it easier to navigate. e.g. 5.1,5.2,5.3 have papers that are continuous without any break in-between. 4) ability to toggle who a re-publish notification goes too on a meeting pack. **What problems is Board Intelligence solving and how is that benefiting you?** single source of truth, secure access, user ability to easi;y review, navigate and comment. If you are working late on a weekend to get things out or even after the hours of 9-5, they are there in the background to assist **What do you dislike about Board Intelligence?** The formatting is sometimes a bit rigid. The 24/7 support has always resolved any issues I or my Governors have. I think the ease of administrating the papers is the best thing. **What do you dislike about Board Intelligence?** BI doesn't like large spreadsheets but I get round this by including a link instead. I have always wanted to be able to name the tabs down the side rather than just numbered. **What problems is Board Intelligence solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past, we would send papers hardcopy in the post which is not good for the environment and is costly, time-consuming and not secure.
