The ability to identify your entire IT Estate, time to value is very quick and product producing an immense amount of details. Being able to identify all aspects of the IT Estate, Perform Software Modelling and provide a huge amount of data. BMC Discovery can also help with troubleshooting root cause analysis and also provides changes it the software and hardware components of a discovery run.

BMC Discovery has good integration with AD and is also extremely secure in the way it discovers and stores data. The ability to use the credential vault means that the person installing and configuring the appliance does not need to know anything about the credentials being used to discovery.

Everything is communication over secure connections, and has huge scalability potential, being able to deploy multiple scanner appliances and also discover all types of platforms, windows, unix, switches, load balancers etc...

BMC Discovery appliance means rapid deployment, importing a VM takes minutes and configuring is very quick. The only challenges involved appear to be getting past the security team, however once everything has been explained the way Discovery works, it usually passes and after that deployment is very quick.
