What do you like best about BMC Helix Discovery?

It doesn't take large amounts of work to setup and maintaining is virtually nothing. Once it is operational, your company really can reap the benefit of the data. The UI is really so easy to use and we actually allowed any users in the business to connect and use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BMC Helix Discovery?

Recommendations to others considering BMC Helix Discovery:

Great product, there are many more but BMC Discovery covers more ground than most. I would recommend this every time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BMC Helix Discovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have a very big architectural footprint around the globe and have so many people adding to it on a daily bases that no matter how big the team, you could never have everything recorded, never mind keep its data maintained. Discovery at least helps us keep the CMDB up to date and we leverage allot off the CMDB from change requests, to managing password controls to accounts on each server to scaling. I think people underestimate the power of having Discovery in a large environment. The other nice thing with BMC Discovery is once its running, there is so little admin behind it that once you have set it up you really can just leave it to run, provided your recon jobs are setup correctly. The other time we really do work on the server is when we need to patch it to keep the version up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
