"Bluehost is at a top level. But the pricing and plans should be better."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Bluehost?

I have used WordPress hosting and then shared hosting, and everything works like a charm. I don't complain about them, mainly because the performance was excellent. Almost all hosting plans have a free domain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bluehost?

The pricing plans are always a problem for any kick-starter project. Bluehost sometimes offers discounts but for a minimal time, and I couldn't if you are a new customer. Then you will be treated with the original high price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Hidden fees, slow loading times -- but at least it's cheap (sort of)"
1.5/5
What do you like best about Bluehost?

Bluehost is a an affordable solution if you have a new site, and just want to get the framework up. Once you get any sort of real traffic, you're going to want to switch to a better platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bluehost?

Bluehost is riddled with upsells. They try to charge you for everything, and there are still charges made to my account, even though I switched away from the service over a year ago. Customer support is not what it used to be, and you'll often find yourself in lengthy discussions over sensitive issues. However, the technical team is still fairly good and was able to address most of my issues.

Bluehost is also slow. Sure you can get web hosting for a few bucks a month, and that's great, but your site will crawl. It's not realistic to use one of their cheaper plans if you plan on growing your site. In addition, Wordpress runs very slowly with Bluehost, which will slow down your workflow. "I accepted to pay extra for their good support but now the quality of the support has been lower"
3/5
What do you like best about Bluehost?

The servers are quite strong, the site is not crashing even with a lot of visits at the same time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bluehost?

The price : it is very expensive to renew your domain with them (VERY expensive)

The support : previously, the support was the main reason why i decided to use Bluehost but they have changed and now, you get to wait 1h to have someone on the chat to help you (even if there is a critical issue) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for Beginners"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Bluehost?

It's a good cheap price point for beginners who need hosting. The simple layout and interface make it easy for anyone to host a site and learn about how to host their website. Bluehost is always offering deals to new clients. Support was always quick to respond as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bluehost?

Since 2020, the shared servers got incredibly slow because of the rise of small businesses. Slow websites are not a good thing when selling a product or service. Bluehost also put our websites at risk as someone who shared our server contracted a virus and shared it with every single website on that server including ours. They were unable to do anything about the virus and asked that we remove it ourselves. Bluehost may offer large discounts to new clients, but renewals are usually full price. This is a fine print item and can be missed by many people eager to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A host service which work wonderfully with WordPress."
5/5
What do you like best about Bluehost?

It's not just a hosting service provider. However, designed beautifully to host WordPress websites. It also provides free domain names and SSL for a year. The best part is the WordPress feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bluehost?

I wouldn't say I like the price and offers they came up in the last few months. The company should offer competitive prices. They should come up with innovative ideas and prices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I Was Surprised by the Level of Control Hidden Beneath Bluehost's Surface"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Bluehost?

I administered Bluehost for one of my previous employers. We managed our web hosting, emails, and several site builders through their platform.

On its surface, Bluehost looked like an entry-level web hosting platform. But there was a ton of functionality and features hidden beneath its surface. It was straightforward to create and configure employee email addresses. We could easily apply company signatures, manage passwords and password resets, and specify different settings depending on the account we were adjusting.

Although we had somebody else who physically managed our website through Bluehost, I recall from my limited experience in that area that there was plenty of room for technical adjustments to things like DNS settings, analytics, etc. This was great compared to products like Google Workspace, where many settings are either buried deep and impossible to find, or off-limits altogether.

Bluehost seemed comfortable in allowing its users to exercise control! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bluehost?

I had one experience with Bluehost support. It was clear from our call that their support was outsourced. This is not actually an issue that bothers me, but there were communication barriers between the support staff and I that made resolving our ticket a little bit more complicated than it could have been otherwise. Additionally, from what I recall, neither the first-level nor escalated support staff was able to solve that issue (which was pertaining to DNS Settings). We had to work with a 3rd party technical team to correct this issue and bring our site back online.

In summary, there are definitely settings in Bluehost that you should avoid if you're not well versed in web development! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Easy"
4/5
What do you like best about Bluehost?

Bluehost is intuitive to use and easy to navigate, and it works well for both beginners and professional web developers. It also has an impressive WordPress hosting plan, and being a first-time website builder, I am pretty happy with what it provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bluehost?

There are always downsides with every hosting company , One thing i consider as a con is that, Bluehost offers a particularly low initial price but with a particularly big percentage increase on renewal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Scam company that steal from you"
0/5
What do you like best about Bluehost?

Absolutely nothing, their proprietary cpanel admin is ugly, slow and confusing. And that is their best feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bluehost?

They steal from you. I signed up for a $30 pm VPS, after a few months, they started charging me $60 pm without notice. When I contacted them, they said they upgraded their servers and felt the new price was still good. Yet the price they advertise on their site is still $30. They refused to refund, and basically told me to go jump.

How can a company just start debiting double the amount out of your account? Bluehost do, absolute bald-faced theft. This is a gangster company that will outright rob you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
