## Bluehost Reviews
  ### 1. Bluehost was one of the better webhosting platforms I've used in recent years.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry P. | Digital Art Director, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

It is really easy to set up- I had no problem getting up my first website up using their services. Since it was my first hosting company ( and currently my present ) I really didn't know how good I had it with their services until I tried out their competitors over the following 8 years. From Hostgator to godaddy it seems like a lot of webhosting companies you every little opportunity to suck an extra dime out of you. This is not the case with blue host. They are a true, no BS hosting platform.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

They are slightly more expensive than many of their competitors. Also, their javascript ftp in-browser upload thing has a few issues in some browsers.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

You should give bluehost a shot if you want a No BS webhosting service that I have never experienced any down time from.

  ### 2. Go-to hosting provider for WordPress sites

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim M. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Inexpensive and easy to set up. One-click installs for WordPress sites make this a no brainer for clients.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

MOJO Marketplace integration is annoying

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

No brainer if you're hosting a WordPress site. So much cheaper than using a local hosting company.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WordPress hosting

  ### 3. Budget all-in-one shared tenancy web host

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Easily the primary, and really only, selling point for blue host is the price.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

It is just like any other shared tenancy web host. In some ways better, in some ways worse, but certainly not any better or worse on the whole. Easily the worst part was that the servers were just darn slow. Especially on a cold connection, it could take up to 15 seconds for a page to initially load.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

I now push budget minded clients to use cheap VPS services. Although bluehost does offer VPS services, it isn't what they are known for. Often you can find VPS providers with much faster and more reliable services for way less. I even have 1 VPS that I only pay $10/year for, can't beat that.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Re-sold plenty of "hosting" with bluehost to various freelance clients and professional clients.

  ### 4. Popular option but poor support for advanced users

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Bluehost is easy to set up, get started with, and keep for a long time. Their custom dashboard makes many things easy to find.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Their support is fairly poor. Long hold times; long chat wait times, and only mildly-knowledgeable support staff. I have found it impossible to speak with people who can help me. I'm and advanced user and sometimes needs advanced help, and Bluehost rarely provides it.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

I would recommend Bluehost only if you don't have advanced needs (SSL, ecommerce, email authentication) more than simple speed.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get to host a few websites with them.

  ### 5. Affordable Web Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee W. | Owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

I like the cost and the support team is VERY helpful whenever I break something! We have access to the automatic server backup files!

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

There's not much to dislike with a web host. They keep my sites up and running and don't break the bank when it come time for renewal!

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

100% recommend the team at BlueHost

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web hosting - We are able to host several websites within a single account and have access to automated backups!

  ### 6. Excellent customer service by Bluehost.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Great customer service and a helpful user interface. I like that they offer a referral program.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

There is nothing I didn't like. The control panel was a little busy at first.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

Definitely use Bluehost as they are kind and easy to work with. Also their referral program has a lot of potential for someone getting started to earn extra income and help their friends.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm seeking marketing solutions.

  ### 7. Great for startups

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

We received a great intro offer for email and web hosting. We currently have a website and 5 user accounts and it was easy to set up. It was easy to integrate with wordpress and our website was up and running in no time. There are also a lot of other features we plan to use.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

The email platforms that are supported by this are very simple, but it integrated nicely with our iphones.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

Great, cost effective way to host a website and your email!

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to launch a new website and get our team up and running with business email addresses for catalina crew. I am able to be the admin and create new user accounts very easily.

  ### 8. Worthwhile low-tier host

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen S. | Senior Web Developer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Low prices for shared hosting. Easy setup. No major problems with uptime in 1-3 years.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Delayed support responses with long wait times for live chat. The non-standard Cpanel-esque controls are odd and cumbersome at times.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

If you aren't under heavy requirements for your website needs, then Bluehost will do a fine job serving your site with high uptime and decent speed.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple cheap hosting for websites that don't have strict needs.

  ### 9. Bluehost Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

The customer support is great, the package is fairly straight forward to use!

The backups are also a life saver if you are ever in the position where everything crashes or you get a virus! They also can integrate an existing website so no need to rebuild!

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

To be honest if ever I have a problem (they are few and far between) the customer service is great so I can't complain! The interface and be a little less cluttered (but I'm a minimalist and like simple design). Overall no complaints!

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to worry about the 'tecky' issues of hosting my website - they do it for me!

  ### 10. Declining WordPress hosting

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd P. | CTO and Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Not much. Once considered a good option for WordPress hosting, this is now a host to avoid.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Their low-price hosting options should be avoided. Their multi-tenant hosting options are VERY SLOW and poorly supported. My recommendation is to go with another host entirely.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

Go with another host for WordPress hosting. If you really want excellent performance and support, my recommendation is to go with Synthesis. It's worth the money you'll spend.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WordPress hosting is the reason I recommended BlueHost to a client a couple years ago.

  ### 11. A solid ISP service with good bandwidth speeds

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruce E. | Digital Media Constultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Bluehost is a long time player in the ISP market and has a long history of fairly solid service. Today it offers many traditional hosting services and support for most publishing platforms. Like many ISPs today, Bluehost offers a nice range of services for everything from Drupal sites to online databases. It is also fairly easy to use and learn.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Like others had stated, Bluehost can sometimes have less than helpful service. However, they do offer many guides and online aids for navigating their services.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting CMS sites, setting basic websites, and managing current sites.

  ### 12. Dated product

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberley T. | Instructor - Adult Learning Center, Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

It's easy to use to some degree. I like how I can create folders and easily sort mail and quickly delete what I don't need.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

I find it very wordy and it looks like it needs updated. Trying to set up my account to avoid junk mail was very difficult.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing, I use it for our website and email. I think it's fairly easy to use and setup what we need on our webpage.

  ### 13. Bluehost is cheap and pretty good. Great to start on.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua D. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2015

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

They have a modern setup, their website is good. They are honest in their ads and their pricing. The do the sign up super cheap and then raise the price the next year since everyone does it, but it is not surprising or shady.

It is relatively easy to get a domain, get hosting, get your Wordpress up and running.

On thing that I really like about Blue Host is you can have unlimited domains attached to your hosting. Namecheap only allows 5 so Blue Host is a nice change from that.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Web hosting in general is hard, and support is sometimes hard to work with, but that is across the industry as a whole.

Web hosting as a whole is hard to use, so things are hard to setup, it is easy to mess up, and there are so many options that finding instructions for your particular use case is hard.

Bluehost also charges you for privacy shield, so your info gets exposed to scammers. I have gotten more phone calls since signing up for Bluehost than ever before.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

If you want super cheap hosting get Bluehost. If you are going to run a serious business or blog off of it, consider a dedicated host, not shared hosting. I have heard that WP Engine is for serious blogs, but that could just be marketing. :)

  ### 14. Mediocre shared hosting, you get what you pay for

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | Web Application Developer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Pricing and Wordpres support were what got me to consider and sign up for Bluehost.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Once a customer, I had numerous downtime issues and was plagued with slow server response times.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

While the pricing is definitely right, I can't stress enough that you get what you pay for. If you have problems with your hosting (and you will), don't expect stellar customer support.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Was looking for reasonably priced shared hosting for development and staging sites for my clients.

  ### 15. Great Service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

I used blue host for hosting a blog and got a deal with a special offer. It was easy to set up, and switching my hosting to bluehost was simple. They gave me a deal since to host with them since I used wordpress. Also, when I signed up I worked with a customer service member who was extremely nice and stayed on the line with me even though they were about to close.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Nothing as of yet. I only left them because I stopped using wordpress in favor of a static jekyll site. Otherwise I likely would have stayed.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

I think it is a great option. Certainly you should shop around for prices, but if you see a good offer from bluehost you won't regret signing up with them.

  ### 16. Gets the job done

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan M. | Vice President International Operations, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Simple interface and good pricing. I only log in once a year to renew but it's a simple process.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

I have had issues getting my CC to work with auto pay.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting a small website and database

  ### 17. Great Speed, Bad Backend

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benton P. | Freelance Editor / Motion Graphics Artist, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2015

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Blue Host has great speed for the sites they host. If you have a WordPress site, they will give you one of the better speeds around.

Also, their support has been great every time I've had to call with a issue with client sites.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

I do not like their CPanel. Having used Media Temple, Go Daddy and Host Gator I would say Blue Host CPanel is the worst of the group.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

If you don't care about the backend it's a great choice. Hopefully they will change it soon.

  ### 18. Bluehost is great!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

The customer service is far better than any other hosting or domain registration I have ever used. The prices are competitive, and the products are valuable.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

The user interface was varied for different sections and was sometimes hard to figure out. I often had trouble retrieving passwords when i forgot them.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

Bluehost is the best hosting and domain registration I've found. Highly recommended!

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking for reliable, easy-to-use web hosting and domain registrations with good customer service. Bluehost definitely delivered and made my life easier.

  ### 19. Well Priced Hosting

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

For little money you can host as many domain names under one account as you like and create email accounts and subdomains through an easy to use cpanel. A lot of one click content management systems, good for entry level web hosting.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

The user interface of the cpanel isn't the most appealing. Would be nice if this was better designed.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

If you're looking to get into the web hosting industry, or just host a few of your own sites then this company has a very reasonably priced hosting service. They are a large company and their services are reliable which is what you want in a web host.

  ### 20. Bluehost User Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

It's turnkey and easy to access. Bluehost Customer Service is super nice too and willing to roll up their sleeves to dig into your problem.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

There seems to be a conflicting amount of knowledge from one CS rep to another which can sometimes make problem-solving a but frustrating.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A reliable hosting company. Our site has never crashed.

  ### 21. Good Value Hosting solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Bluehost provide very good value hosting solutions, and good support too.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Response to ticket support is too slow, may take few days. Higher level technical support is only available at US working time, not easy for overseas users.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

Bluehost provides great value hosting products, quick live chat support. But they have stopped reseller hosting, and there are problems with previously sold reseller packages they won't fix, e.g. can't add in addon domains, and this problem can only be resolved by their QA department, which only works during US working time. For users outside US, it's a pain to get the support.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploy Wordpress, Magento, Opencart and many other web applications.

  ### 22. Why Bother?

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas G. | Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

They have good deals and good customer service which is helpful if you need a lot of 1:1 time with them.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Basically the same deal as HostGator. Why would I use BlueHost when there are so many other options that are cheaper, faster, and more flexible.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

Bluehost is getting better. Getting away from shared hosting and into VPS is the way to go.

  ### 23. You Get What You Pay For.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

The price performance of bluehost's shared hosting is very competitive. By default they give you some level of backups (which is important for when they wipe your websites).

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

The constant up-sells or teased, handicapped features were loathsome. The support is rather bad. Periodically, our client sites would get wiped out or rolled back to the same point in time. Ever-increasing months of work, lost with nary an explanation from them. Finally, we graduated to tier 2 support we were given some insight into what was going on. One of the best business decisions we made was moving away from Bluehost.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

We went with inmotion hosting.

  ### 24. Bad Hosting

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Building Materials | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

None, its a very bad hosting service.... do not get it.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

everything, poor customer service, slow server, easily hacked servers.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

dont do it

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

marketing our company website

  ### 25. Good service, great customer service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Customer service is quite good. Chat feature with customer service works well with immediate answers. This is in regards to basic features provided by bluehost.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

instructions for more advanced features are lacking.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

clearly define your goals with bluehost ahead of time to ensure you can meet them.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple website hosting.

  ### 26. Not deserving of the glowing reviews across the web

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

I tried Bluehost because of all the great reviews online, but I should have realized the referral program they have running makes it almost impossible to find an unbiased review. I like that it's inexpensive, that's about it.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

I had a tough time getting set up, found the customer service lacking and slow, and was disappointed with the clunky interface.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

Review other options. If all you need is a simple site/blog/whatever, I suggest looking elsewhere.

  ### 27. Yet another hosting service, but quite cheap and good support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

It gives you absolutely what it sells you exactly what it says it sells you, nothing more or less. And it is quite cheap!

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Very limited amounts of domains it only have the typical, not new implementatios like .ninja, .dev, etc

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

If you have used as many kind of sites like this you would definitely understand that it is a normal and good place and it does exactly what it says it does

  ### 28. Good Option for the Price

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Affordable shared host with basic features.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Rare I know, but would like it if could run modern web apps like node.js etc. on the basic plans.

**What problems is Bluehost solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting

  ### 29. Bluehost didn't fit our needs but has good options

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2015

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

What I liked best was the ability to match up customized e-mails with our designed best website. Additionally the amount of storage he had with the website was very good. Also the design layout of the website were very useful.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

On the log in page, many times we logged into the wrong area (website or email). The email sites were difficult to use. They were hard to manage and organized. Additionally for those not highly educated in website design, it was very hard to manage the website portion.

  ### 30. Very friendly and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse D. | Digital Sales Coordinator, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2014

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

Easy to use. One click Wordpress installs. Good communication about maintenance. As somebody that just started blogging and has no idea what he was doing Bluehost is a very solid choice. I am very satisfied with my Website and the hosting they have provided is great.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

Currently have no had any issues. Every support was answered correctly and on time. Has not failed for me. This is very biased opinion since I am a noob to website hosting and domain. I don't know what I am doing but Bluehost made it easy. I am very pleased with my site.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

If you want something simple for your Wordpress website this is a solid purchase.

  ### 31. Cheap hosting option for Wordpress

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2014

**What do you like best about Bluehost?**

We use WordPress as a hosting option for the WP-based website of a nonprofit organization I'm associated with. Not only is it a fairly cost-effective option, but there have been no major issues with it so far.

**What do you dislike about Bluehost?**

The interface is a bit clunky. Fortunately, I don't have to spend much time with it. I haven't had any experience dealing with customer service - yet.

**Recommendations to others considering Bluehost:**

It's a decent option for basic hosting needs, especially if you're running a WP website. And I haven't heard anything about the BlueHost founder going elephant hunting, either.
