## Blender Reviews
  ### 1. Blender 3D - The best open source alternative to 3Ds Max and Maya.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elnur A. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Blender contains a lot of tools that other professionally used tools like 3Ds Max, Maya, Cinema4D and others lack. Tools like Sculpting is often sold as a separate software in those tools but blender supports it out of the box. Another great part of blender is that it is lightweight and fast.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Blender updates change quite a lot which is mostly a good thing, but when blender got update 2.8 it was harder for me to use it as I was getting used to 2.79's hotkeys and certain features that got removed or renamed. Another thing is that it is not uncommon to come across bugs.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Although blender is a great tool, it is mostly suited for hobbyists that are getting into 3D modelling. Companies might have a hard time implementing blender into their work because of lack of support of certain tools or pipelines that 3Ds max and other tools already have great support for.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blender is a great tool for advertisement as it allows me and my team to create shots of a product with reference imagery and animate it for an ad. Along with advertisements, we have also used blender for architectural rendering as well.

  ### 11. Best all round modeling tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arnaldo C. | Technical Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Community. It is something outside the tool itself but that adds incredible value to the final product. Because how great the community is, it's really easy to find someone who will tell you exactly how you need to use the tool to create something specific, 3D modeling, animation, poly-art, unity compability, whatever you can imagine, it's out there. Having said that, the tool has quite a few utilities to improve productivity. The tools available for the manipulation of vertices and edges are infinite, and to that we add the possibility of adding addons that bring new ways of doing it

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

I think the best it has is also its biggest challenge, given the amount of utilities available to it, it becomes difficult for a newbie to start creating things with Blender, and achieve the results that they expect in a short development time. It is simply impossible. You have to spend time with the tool learning the shortcuts (which are infinite) and spend time watching community tutorials to get used to which utilities to use for which problems. I do not see a clear way to solve this, it is a tool that covers an immense spectrum of solutions within 3d modeling and animation, it is not that you are using a small tool that only concerns you to make voxel art, you are using an all-round high powered swiss knife, so expect to be overwhelmed with tools that you may never use as they are not the type of solution you need

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Don't try to learn for yourself just by trying things. Go to the community stuff, it's one of the best things about Blender. You can learn in a week how to use specific tools to increase your workflow productivity, and end up with higher quality art. There are hundreds of very good YouTube that are dedicated to making step-by-step guides on how to arrive at a high quality final product. Some give very good explorations, some do speedruns for when you are more advanced and do not need explanations. But everyone will always have a small detail that is extremely useful, shurcuts, they all show which shortcuts they are using for each action they do. This is incredibly useful, in Blender you use countless different tools all the time, it would be an extremely slow process to go with the mouse to use each of them, so getting familiar with the use of shorctus is a must.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am an enthusiast of the world of game development. I am a graduate Software Engineer and full time worker so programming is not a problem. Art on the other hand ... I couldn't draw a perfect circle even if my life depended on it. This is when Blender comes in, I'm not good at drawing, but I'm good at researching and following tutorials, and as I mentioned, the community and material behind blender is pretty huge. Even for me, someone with 0 knowledge of art, it is possible to model a tree, a box, or a well, small assets to make a small game. And I can do it because I can go to youtube or google and find 'how to model a tree with blender', with a Blender specific version and the specific art (voxel, polyart, realistic). This is priceless, and for a tool that is free, even more so.

  ### 12. Best rendering and modeling software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Animation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2021

Smooth rendering without any lagging. Freestyle is iconic feature. Shadow cather, streoscopic rendering, subsurface scattering and all cycles are working very smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

User guide need to describe in details so user expreince can enhance.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Never bound to any one effect try to use every effects so you will feel delightful to use them.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In rendering cycle there are lots of option for lighting so restriction free to use only one or any specific lighting effect for model.

  ### 13. Blender Animation Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankit A. | Tibco EBX Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2017

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Ease of navigation , Customization Features, Faster rendering, Live rendering, Camera based view to make you feel how will the animation look like,

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Image based Animation becomes difficult to perform, For me personally i tried to get an image hand created and perform animation but it kept getting difficult to animate the image. Blender can provide some sample projects along with where in user can use that project modify the same to get better understanding and clarity so that going forward it can be a learning as well as hands on experience to attract.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Great tool to start learning Animation and grow further more in same tool. Can be very handy in many ways but only consideration which i feel is its bit difficult to do animation based upon the images. For example its bit tricky to just create a character and perform animation on that. Better to view some tutorials online before trying your hand on the tool considering it helps in understanding the navigation, how to start, what to use etc.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able upskill and design animation using the tool

It has a really small size and is very fast to work which makes it my first choice. Further, it has really good developers that teach on youtube that makes it very easy for me to learn and use the blender.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

It is a bit complicated considering I just entered this domain and it's been only about 1 year since I started. Changing between modes is a bit difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

You all should really switch to the blender. You will be amazed by its multiple functionalities and moreover, it has a really small size So it won't be a pain to try it.

  ### 18. Blender is now the best 3D software in the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carisa C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Free and open source to start with and a delight to work with. I was a Maya and 3DMax user for many years and they were a lot better than Blender, but since 2017 that started to change big time, right now Blender is faster, more extensible, and more complete than any other option. Many big studios are still stuck with Maya but most of the Animators I know would prefer to switch to Blender. Our team made the switch since 2019 and we don't plan to go back anytime soon.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

A few years ago I would say that was too immature to be a commercial-grade project, but wow that really changed. Now it's more complete and easier to learn and use than the commercial and expensive alternatives.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

See if a script is created for what you plan to do, you may save hours of work if it already exists and you can just focus in the details.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating 3D models whenever we need to display them in a media content. As a hobby I also use it for 3D printing silly stuff at my home.

  ### 19. the best software modeling 3d

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose M. | Systems Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

What I like the most about blender is that it is a tool with many options, which other expensive tools have, for example 3dmax, here you can do almost the same thing, modeling, sculpting, animating in a single program with multiple tutorials on the internet

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

What annoys me that some commands are difficult to understand and even more so when they are complex things and require, step by step, a continuous execution of buttons.
I also do not like file incompatibilities between other programs having to resort to generic objects to be able to migrate from one program to another

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

I recommend enrolling in blender courses and challenges, these help to improve in this tools, additionally there is a lot of blender documentation in videos that can be useful, also update to the latest versions of the product since it is constantly improving

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A basic logo is required for a 3d program, although I am not an expert I created a basic logic that served to integrate it and show a nice presentation in the product

  ### 20. Plan your projects directly with innovative tools with blender.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

An evident error in blender corresponds to the power of auto-saving of its operations, where an indisposition of storage of algorithmic changes occurs, due to a failure in the supply of encryptions of content in the software of data base of this server, in which loss of transfer of details of use of graphics is caused, disproportions of internal adjustments, decrease of compatibility of graphic cards' backup, deterioration of presentations' operation simulation, are of the erroneous operations managed by this program when carrying out support managements of computerized activities development of artificial intelligence manufacturing

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Blender software is recommended for financing project management operations, presentation control definitions, avatar simulation design animation unification, digital content molding, data display code import, video editing programmatic detail modification selection, rich audio quality, virtual reality system inclusions, stable load speed settings, audio sharing tools, multiplatform dimensioned game creation division, digital animation format download assistance evaluation analysis, tracking control facilities configuration work on this platform.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blender has been worked for a considerable time, handling software programming codes for portal lighting management, digital composition development, activation of dynamic management typology processing, incorporation of changing tones and textures of main pages, customizable models of video games, conversion monitoring of intelligent data production networks, Modeling of film review protocols, film analytical load changes, image property modification ratios, operation of technical drawings with internal code division metric programming, manufacturing of digital fault repair query scenarios were used by my company to extend professional content.

  ### 21. A 3D object making software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

We can create an exclusive 3d model and we can create scenes of the video and we can do animation to that video.
It is an open-source. We can design the material of the object.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

It is hard to use. We want some tutorials for learning this software. Difficult to use all the tools. The interface is difficult to develop the model.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

It is well-known software so that tutorial is easily available in video and in the documentation. There many blogs we can read and try. There are also assets available for our projects.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

3d modeling, animation to the video, video effects, model design, and exporting objects for the other users.

  ### 22. Blender

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Animation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Blender is one of the most effective 3D softwares available out there. Obviously, the best thing I like about Blender is that is free. Also, there is a quite large community of users where you can tap in to get tutorials and useful help to advance your skills. Blender is a powerful 3D software that is very competitive to others 3D softwares out there that cost thousands of USD.It is a solid choice to create beautifully rendered images, Animations, VFX and more.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

The biggest drawback about Blender is the User Interface, especially if you are accustomed to other softwares. There are some shortcuts that will make transitions more smooth. Still, after using another 3D software for years (an industry standard) I still find Blender a bit cumbersome to work around things that are more smoothly accomplished with other tools. Another minus for Blender is that there are only a few studios that use it, and that's mainly to save money.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Free and a lot of tutorials for a beginner

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blender has a significant amount of hidden tools that in other softwares would require external plugins and at a considerable cost. Among my favorites, I would first list the Simulation Tools. They are definitely a plus, especially compared to Autodesk products where their cost runs in the thousands of $.
Also, I appreciate the capability of Blender to tackle many different tasks, it even has a built in video editor.

  ### 23. Amazing for animators/creators

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathaniel H. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

I like the effectiveness and customization. The user has a variety of effects that the add to there piece.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

They need a little tutorial before you use that show the basics.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solved creating animative pieces that help the me make videos. It is productive and updates with you.

  ### 24. What a blast, working with this software.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Free, versatile, complete pipeline, big support group.very well at doing a small part of a job or a complete project.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Some time I just don't agree with a solution or work around. Maybe due to the amount of plugins.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Just try it. Learning curve is a bit steep at the beginning but defo worth it.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Free, versatile binding 3d software together with an open architecture. Great results, can be a tool for just 1 job or a complete game /movie. Besides that switching from a very expensive autodeskmonthly subscription solution to a free product.
Besides the first off shaving expenses it also gives a lot of freedom not being under the swinging autodesk moods.

  ### 25. The best in the Industry for Free and Open Source

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandra M. | Business Development Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Modelling is so easy.
Render engine has so much improvements now that you can make things look so real.
2.8 version is well optimised for speeds and heavy loads.
With the new Gizmo, you can even use it on touch screen devices like tabs. Wow.

It is so easy to use and also there are so many helpfile and videos on Youtube that its exhausting yet awesome. The output can be done in realtime now and we can see the changes or final output with out rendering most of the times. Now you can make 2D movies on blender and it is very well thought software which is easy to adapt to.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

I feel the downside is that they are very helpful and have made it very easy to use it. With very less efforts and not having to go through the painful process. they actually stole that pain and gave us this amazing product to work with.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

GO for it. you wont regret it.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an all in one tool for people who like to draw, build models and create animation and do video editing. I am able to do scenes and animations for my songs in blender and some graphic art.

I ahve realised that I can do more with it now. I can do an entire story animation in Blender which I am intending to do in future.

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Blender is leading the vanguard of innovative traditional animation production! This goes for both the developers and the community. Hats off everyone -- what a great creative technology for hand drawn animation, storyboarding, and previz!

Blender allows you to do traditional 2D hand drawn animation or storyboards over 3D props and assets. This is a very unique feature, and it's only getting more robust and fun.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

As trivial as it may sound, the default hotkeys seem odd to me (for navigation and basic modeling). I also use Modo, Rhino, and a bit of C4D, and Blender's default hotkeys seem strange, but that's just my bias clearly, which I am working on (or just remapping them) :D

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blender is really the only tool that allows me to draw by hand over 3D assets all on an animation timeline.

The 3D modeling software Modo has recently added a 2.5D animation tool as well, and it uses raster-brushes, which is also unique compared to Blender's vector-brushes. But as of now Blender is still the best 2.5D animation solution if that's what you're looking for.

**What do you like best about Blender?**

it's basically of very less size, and other softwares are just too big to download. It's sculpting functions are just amazing, the texture paint , the weight paint, the vertex paint are simply wow!

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

while sculpting it crashes frequently. It dosen't has some features which are only in other 3d modeling softwares.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

best software to make 3d models. though it has many alternatives but it's less downloadable size puts it to the top.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

basically tackeling with the things like making a game is a big issue that is been solved by it. and animation has also became very simple

  ### 31. Wonderful all-in-one 3D creation tool, good for creative build-up

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Blender is a free yet powerful 3D creation tool. Beyond modeling and texturing, it also integrates texture painting, sculpting, and post-processing rendering. The improved Eevee render engine provides beautiful yet convenient real-time rendering results. The Grease Pencil is the killer for 2D-style 3D animation creation. It keeps lightweight even is such giant multi-functional inside. Blender 2.8.x is a huge step forward for its impressive significant UI update. I can feel the ambition for them as a foundation but willing to take other commercial giants down. Unlike other tools in similar usages, it shows the dimension of meshes in human-readable units, i.e., cm, inch. That's important in creating content for AR/VR/MR since the item will present in real-world size scene.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

The coordinate system in Blender aligns the z-axis to upward and is different from majority 3D creation tools and game engines, where they align The y-axis to upward. Although Blender gives some features to fix the coordination in its exporting menu, it causes problems in some scenarios.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

If you are small studio or individual developer/creator, try Blender. It’s free but still powerful, probably the best free software in graphic creating field.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am working on several AR and VR projects. It's painful to deal with the unit conversion in Maya. In Blender, though, I can check the info panel for the real size of the model. It's super straightforward and no more guess or preference tuning. It supports native gltf and usd file conversion, yet another AR-oriented feature.
Blender integrates texture painting and sculpting in itself. It means you don't need to switch tools among Maya, Substance Painter and ZBrush during the creating process. That makes the whole creating process much more fluent.

  ### 32. One of the best 3D tools out there.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** CEMECE . | Director, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Blender is a super accesible, free and complete 3D software that allows you to learn 3D and also produce 3D projects as a professional in the industry.
It can be used for any 3D project, from modelling, animating or rendering.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Nothing bad with Blender, is more limited than other similar softwares as Maya or Cinema, but again is FREE. So you can´t beat that.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Blender is a super complete 3D tool, and it's FREE. So it's the best to try, and introduce anyone to the world of 3D production.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast modelling, and super Fast rendering. It's ideal for skecth up in 3D from already made 3D models.

  ### 33. I am a Blender user From 2004 ! A hardcore Blender user

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricardo José Ventura P. | industrial designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Free to use, to change, to love. Have a Great community, easy to learn if you have the time and the commitment!

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

This is hard because in time blender turns out a great tool for my pipeline, but better integration with VR, I have an Oculus rift and want to use them for validation prototyping before prototyping of industrial production, in the new version Vr is starting to show but i need some more features.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In Blender, I edit videos, 3d model products in the raw idea, then I make the design in Fusion360 and then go back to blender again to render and animate the projects to present them. Blender is great to model fast and print the 3d models to validate and iterate, a great tool to render, overall my favourite tool!

  ### 34. Best 3D Creation tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Desislava D. D. | Media Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Blender is in the range of Maya (as professional 3D software)
Difference is that is it easier to use, and it comes at 0 cost!
The people creating Blender are updating it all the time, and the new version is just amazing!
It is a public project (everyone can join and help), but you can still donate if you'd like to help the people who made it
You can create pretty much everything on Blender! Just watch youtube videos, or an online course, and you are set

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Nothing considering the product, however sometimes I have issues placing the light in the 3D dimension, but this is all me :)

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Don't hesitate do download and enjoy! Blender is really great to use!
Plus it is free, unlike many other 3D software's of this range.
Stay persistent, it is not easy to learn 3D, but this tool is extremely nice to learn on

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am learning how to create 3D works, short and long ones.
It is super easy to use (for a 3D software), and it has all the features you need. A lot of people are showing amazing 3D objects later on used in games with very high graphics, which is amazing! Try it!

  ### 35. I love creating/Editing Videos

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Sometimes, I feel the software is so clumsy to work with

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Try using this software if you need animation software of lot of features

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Video creation and Enjoying Animation

  ### 36. Best 3d modeling software I've come across

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason G. | Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Reasonably intuitive, quick to learn, and feature packed. I like that there are keyboard shortcuts for *everything*. With that you can zip around the interface with less clicks and less time.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

While it has the same features of other software, it goes about implementing them in a different way, which is not always better. For example, I dislike how they implemented sculpting in Blender.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

I would recommend people to use other programs first, and *then* come to blender and realize how much easier these tedious tasks can be.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's always helpful to have a 3d representation of something before you purchase it, build it, or print it. This software allows us to fine tune things as much as we can before spending time and money bringing it to fruition

  ### 37. A free and open source feature rich modeling, rendering, sculpting and animating software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincenzo M. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

It's open source, it's free. You don't have to pray and hope that future versions have support for plugins, as they just simply implement them into the program itself on every update. Apart from that, from version 2.8 its interface got updated to be really user friendly and it's not confusing like the previous versions. Moving on to features, you can model, sculpt, animate, render and even make 2D and 3D animations. The rendering engine is very feature full and one of my favorite features is the Filmic color transform, which was a plugin until some months ago. That color transform gives you 25 stops of dynamic range which fixes any lightning which otherwise is dull and dark. Talking about render times, the render times are lower than previous versions and you can fine tune all the rendering options including how many passes and how many bounces per type of ray (for example you can increase it for reflective surfaces while keeping it lower for other ones). To save you time when setting up a render, Blender has Eevee which is a lightweight real time rendering engine, while to render it's suggested to use Cycles for better results. The program crashed once but when it did I also found out that it has autosaving, even for unsaved projects. Overall it's a very strong and feature rich program

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Really not that much, most of my problems with the older versions were solved with 2.8 and the only issue I can think of is two crashes in two days of use

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

If you want to dive in 3d modeling, sculpting, animating, rendering etc but without spending a dime and while still having a professional quality program that you can use daily, go with Blender

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am finally studying rendering and I switched from Metasequoia to Blender. I'm really happy with the switch so far because it's a really strong and quick program. I'm learning things that I thought were hard when trying them in other programs

  ### 38. The most versatile tool on the market.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith M. | 3D / VFX Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Blender is an exceptionally stable, small program that can handle most of my freelance requirements. With the new Eevee engine and updates to the UI and tools, it has become even faster to do work with Blender and get a quality image out.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Some of the stronger features and third-party addons from 2.79 haven't been ported into 2.8 yet, and makes it hard to work when your workflow relies on those tools. Outside of that, I know they are coming.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

The price being free is the best part. After a bit of a learning curve to get acquainted with the program, you'll be impressed by how deep the features go and how well supported the software is by Blender Foundation devs and the broader blender community.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blender allows me to quickly mock up, box model, sculpt, texture, render, all in one suite. It's fast, it's free, it gets things done.

  ### 39. Great product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hanrich Z. | Junior Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Mainly use it for visualization but it is capable of so much more.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Modeling is a bit counter intuitive. Need some time to practice.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating beautiful renders.

  ### 40. Blender is BETTER than I thought

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ron L. | Character Designer/Animator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Blender 2.81 has both 3D AND 2D animation tools. The best of both worlds in one package.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Some of the tools are a little displaced!!! After learning Maya, it was difficult to translate the functions and tools but once you get the hang of it......it’s not bad!!!

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Modeling problems for starters. I learned that there is a feature in Blender that allows the modeler to attach separate primitives to each other by simply inserting it into the main object’s layer.......fascinating!!!

  ### 41. Multiplatform software for modeling, animation and creation of three dimensional graphics.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jhon Braylen M. | Personnel selection technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

It has a very peculiar graphical user interface, we can customize the distribution of menus and camera views. It is multiplatform, free, free and with a really small source size compared to other 3D packages, depending on the operating system on which it runs. Capacity for a wide variety of geometric primitives, including curves, polygonal meshes, voids, NURBS, metaballs. Versatile internal rendering possibilities and external integration with powerful raytracer or free raytracer such as kerkythea, YafRay or Yafrid. Python language to automate or control various tasks. Blender accepts graphic formats such as TGA, JPG, Iris, SGI or TIFF. You can also read Inventor files.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

It does not use all the computer processors by default, it does not work correctly with polygons with more than 4 sides, it does not have a source of income to hire specialized developers.
It has enough competition in the market.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Blender is a multiplatform software, especially dedicated to modeling, lighting, rendering, animation and creation of 3D graphics. Also of digital composition using the procedural technique of nodes, video editing, sculpture, includes dynamic topology and digital painting. Blender has bases that guarantee its development, it is expected that in the not too distant future, within the professional fields most reluctant to use free software this program will be a very appropriate ambassador for it.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apart from the obvious advantage of being a free 3D software, Blender offers us other strengths that we can benefit from if we dedicate ourselves to understanding and learning to use it. Among the advantages of Blender I can mention that it is perfect for independent artists, small companies or those with little capital. Likewise, it is compatible with Linux, Windows, Mac OS X,, Solaris, IRIX and FreeBSD. It uses very little disk space which is excellent for us. It loads incredibly fast, the latest versions have implemented a promising simulation system which we find interesting. It was designed to be used in projects with very short delivery times and therefore we have been able to fit very well with the program.

  ### 42. A Powerful tool to quench the thirst of 3D LifeCycle

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhavi S. | Product Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

It has provisions to exploit all areas of 3D Life cycle. We can 3D Model an object, and UV Map it. Then can apply the texturing and lighting. Then we can also do Blendshapes and Morphing. We can do the Bone, rig and 3D Animation. We can also export the 3D Animation into HD Videos. We can also implement after effects. I also use this for video editing. Blender for VFX too. Simulations can be done using Blender. Blender pipeline is also very useful.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

The User interface could be little more easy to use. More easy to use programming tutorials needed for the users. Need better code reference manual while programmers are writing plugins for Blender. The rendering engine features should be improved to the extent of VRay. The user interface has to be improved as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Blender is useful to all modelers, media companies and architects. I will refer to all of them.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Modeling, UVMapping, texturing, lighting, bone, rig and animation. I am also building applications based blendshapes and morph targets.

  ### 43. The easiest software for 3d production

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dario C. | Senior Software Developer AR / VR, Computer Games, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

What I like most of Blender it's how easy it is to learn to use it. I started using Blender for fun when it was still early stages.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Sometimes it crashes without warning so I keep saving my progress like a maniac

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Blender it's easy and intuitive. The 2.8 version has it all and allows to experienced users to create even animated movies. Just perfect

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Blender for our Indie Games and starting to use it to content generation. We would like to teach youngs about Blender and how can they develop their own games. Blender it's perfect for this. There is a lot of free content in internet and the been the software itself free removes the Barrier for low income students.

  ### 44. Free 3d modeling software and dynamic 3d animation.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregg J. | Industrial Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

Its interface is very comfortable and generates user satisfaction to use the available commands, the workspace is well organized and structured allowing the 3d model to be seen flexibly and the tools available in the workspace, in general the experience user is nice and positive to run the software, the results can be very realistic and the modeling is based on features designed to mold complex shapes and animate them without having to perform a complex programming which is very beneficial for 3d animation.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

In short I have the opinion that it is not a software created for designers of the industrial area since it does not have the technical, metric and dimensions regulations to draw measurements and based on precise planes modeling parts that require an exact work to mesh and fit in a perfect way, it is more a free modeling software for virtual animation of interactive elements.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

It is recommended to incorporate a graphical tablet to the digital work equipment to facilitate the Blender user the work of modeling and thus be able to use the sculpture tool that undoubtedly greatly facilitates the work of creating 3d models from shapes complex and that generates positive results and very approximate to the professionally required.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has its use for 3d animation and it is possible to import a 3d model already made from other software which allows me to incorporate it into the Blender workspace and to animate or perform a render from the software, in my work area it is a complementary and functional software for specific occasions.

  ### 45. 3D Printing and Modeling made easy and affordable.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana M. | Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

I bought a 3D printer for myself a year ago and printed some stuff created with Blender just for fun and people like it so much that started to ask me to make things for them too. In less than 2 weeks I paid in full the price of the 3D printer and now it's a growing part of my business.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

Nothing at all. Blender has become so good that is now a direct competitor with all the commercial software and all for free.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

If you want to 3D print something blender is the best and easier way to achieve that.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Importing OBJs found on the internet and editing them for 3D printing and creating my own models for 3D print.

  ### 46. A professional software for interactive 3D applications

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hamid F. | IEEE Student Member, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

The price is free for students. There are a large number of tutorials and documents for learning Blender.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

The user interface is very difficult. There are many tabs and sometimes it is confusing for me to work with this user interface.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Blender for making 3d virtual objects for my virtual reality applications

  ### 47. Software for the creation of three dimensional graphics.

**Reviewed by:** Jackson Eli H. | Civil Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

It is a tool that is free, we can get many easy to follow tutorials, you don't need a great processor for simple things, you have many options to mold the objects. It is compatible with Linux, Windows, Mac OS X,, Solaris, IRIX and FreeBSD. It uses very little disk space, loads incredibly fast, has a built-in texture and post-production image composer. The latest versions have implemented a promising simulation system. It can be used in a long list of other programs not only of 3d.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

It is really a fairly simple tool, which does not use all the computer processors by default, does not work correctly with polygons with more than 4 sides, does not have a source of income to hire specialized developers. It has strong competition. I think everything will depend on what you are looking for and our goals. With Blender you can do the same as with other similar programs, but these things we already know are very subjective, the only way is to try it yourself and see if it meets our needs.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Blender is a cross-platform computer program, especially dedicated to modeling, animation and creation of three-dimensional graphics. Blender is designed to represent, or draw, 3D scenes, ultimately generating a 2D image. This representation is done by graphic engines, which can be of various types. Blender brings by default three pre-rendering graphics engines and one real-time one. Is free.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a tool that was designed to be used in projects with very short delivery times, so it can be effectively adapted to any project and finalized within the planned times which is very advantageous in some cases. Blender is a free 3d software, and has a wide range of tools at the height of other programs such as 3d max, Cinema 4d, Lightwave and Maya, even surpassing them in functions of tools and technical support being constantly improved by a large community of programmers This also saves us a little in costs when acquiring similar software.

  ### 48. The easiest way to enter into the 3D world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Halley A. | Event Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

It's free and there are a bunch of tutorials online to learn.

I started using this myself after several years of using Maya for 3D because some of our engineers got interested on a rendering we did of future products and events and had some free time because their costumers were on an IT freeze and were eager to contribute.

While they sure have the skills to learn to use Maya I could not justify the expense of extra licenses for them but at the same time as an event manager could not let the enthusiasm and eagerness to help go to waste so I pointed them to Blender and started using it myself.

Maya might be better for a professional video game and is what some of our full-time designers use but in terms of 3D rendering and object creation Blender does the same job but it's completely free.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

It's not widely used in the professional industry, the main reason I started to use and learn Maya while in college before getting my current job was that almost no job in the animation industry listed Blender as a requirement and yet from my point of view is as capable as them.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

The concepts are the same as Maya, it doesn't really matter which one you learn first.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating 3D models and animations for embedding in our company event videos and creating assets for future use. As a side benefit a few of our engineers are happy that they learned a new unexpected skill that may be useful on their job.

  ### 49. Free open source 3d software that Is going very Better in the time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francesco F. | Director - Art Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Blender?**

That Is free and fully customizable. Buy Aldo that in the lasts versions Is be a very professional software for doing animation like Maya or cinema 4D, and Is more affidable.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

The worst thing of Blender Is to Lost some file for some error of saving or Lost the texture. And the interface that at First impact Is very scart and dispersive.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Blender Is a very professional software, so why you dont try instead of Maya or other 3d software, its free!

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows an entire production of doing an animated featured film testing the 3d for the First Time and implement personal software.

  ### 50. The most feasible way to do visual work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos G. | Encargado de redes sociales, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Blender?**

It is multi-platform, its video editing and synchronization is professional, it is automated, it has many options for shaping objects. The tutorials for using it are feasible for broader use, it includes interaction with objectives and its guidance.

**What do you dislike about Blender?**

He does not have a source of income to hire specialized developers.

**Recommendations to others considering Blender:**

Look for tutorials to expand the way it is used, doing detailed work takes time, however the result is excellent.

**What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has made editing my video conferences easier, editing audio for work projects, it makes image editing better and makes them more realistic.
