They regularly release updates they clearly have not properly tested, and they push out changes before properly documenting them. The software will work, then get an update and not work for another two weeks. Desktops, laptops, iPhones and iPads! The integration with our own ERP software to inventory equipment is very beneficial. We can extract the type of processor, memory, memory configuration, hard drive size, serial number of hard drive and more! **What do you dislike about Blancco?** On-site wiping can be a challenge if there is no internet connection available. Some equipment requires minor changes in the BIOS before runnign the software. Although, when any issues or problems are discovered, support is very helpful. **Recommendations to others considering Blancco:** If you are considering using this over Blancco or another product, all I can do is endorse WipeDrive. It worked perfectly for our use case. **What do you dislike about Blancco?** We specifically purchased WipeDrive because our account rep assured us we could use it for our scenario: to wipe machines remotely from our headquarters. Unfortunately, it did not work as slickly as we were led to believe. The nature of modern security practices required some work to get the solution to work properly, including hours on the phone with White Canyon support. We eventually achieved our goal by segmenting devices into a secure VLAN, disabling endpoint protection, and creating local admin rights on the machine for the account pushing the product through PSExec. Once we had it all worked out in our lab environment, we were able to proceed with the target devices. Future projects won't take as long now that we have the correct strategy. **Recommendations to others considering Blancco:** Great product! Works as expected. If using this product to wipe remote devices, remember to disable endpoint protection and to allow the user pushing via PSExec local admin permissions on the target devices. We grouped in special OU and applied secure Group Policy to these devices to ensure we could run the product on them. I recommend setting up a lab environment first to ensure everything works as expected. **What problems is Blancco solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed to remotely wipe Windows machines from our headquarters. Achieving this solution, we've saved time and money from travel and expenses, and can remotely wipe infected or retired devices quickly. ### 32. We've had some SQL database issues with our FlexStation. The team at White Canyon were fantastic! They were sending us updated builds immediately while on the phone. And when things got more involved, they included one of their developers until they found a bug causing the issue. **What do you dislike about Blancco?** While the software UI is simple and easy to use, sometimes we wish there were more options when it came to reporting. **Recommendations to others considering Blancco:** Wipedrive is a good product and will improve as times goes on. We as a company are probably smaller compared to other comanies White Canyon sells too, but they never treated us like a small company. Customer support was always quick to respond and we were never down for long periods of time. I cannot stress how important a service like this has to have great support, and White Canyon exceeded our expectations. **What problems is Blancco solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use both the WipeDrive/Flexstation and PXE to wipe hard drives and laptops. I have an enterprise account with many licenses. When we ran into a problem with specific models of SanDisk SSD's the software failed to achieve a DoD level Wipe. After working with support for many hours (Literally, over a few days) we determined the root cause of the problem was in how the software told the drive to "sleep" in order to unlock the drive, but this particular model would not wake back up after changes were made. The support team worked with Dev teams to create a beta version that they thought would solve it. When it didn't I was asked to ship 2 full towers with the disks to White Canyon. They paid for the shipping, and developed a newer version that would in fact wipe the SSD to DoD standards, released it to me to try and when we determined it was successful, They shipped the machines back. All costs covered by White Canyon. While this is not typical it shows that they were willing to adhere to their promise/guarantee of being able to wipe ALL hard drives. They kept their word. **What do you dislike about Blancco?** I really couldn't say that I disliked anything about the product or its team. I think the cost was a bit high but given the experience i had, it seems now that the cost is justifiable.
