"Centralized Event Management in Salesforce"
5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

It allows us to manage the entire event lifecycle—from registration and attendee management to payments, communications, and reporting—without leaving Salesforce. The ability to automate processes using Salesforce Flows, reuse event templates, and keep all event data in one place has significantly reduced manual work and improved data accuracy and reporting. Overall, it provides a powerful, centralized solution for managing both virtual and in-person events efficiently Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

event setups can occasionally take time. In addition, certain setup or configuration errors can be difficult to diagnose without consulting documentation or contacting support. However, once configured properly, the platform is reliable and offers strong functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

It's amazing to hear how Blackthorn is benefiting your organization. Your testimonial is exactly what we hope to hear every time we push out a new release.

"Seamless Salesforce Integration for End-to-End Event Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

What I like most about Blackthorn Events is how seamlessly it integrates with Salesforce, which lets organizations manage the entire event lifecycle in one platform. Being able to handle registrations, payments, communications, and reporting all in the same place makes the process much more efficient and improves overall data visibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

One area I find challenging with Blackthorn Events is the learning curve, particularly when I’m trying to configure more advanced features such as complex event templates or custom workflows. It takes some time to fully understand all the available options, how they fit together, and how they interact within Salesforce. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Managing registrations, payments, communications, and reporting inside Salesforce without stitching together separate tools is exactly the kind of efficiency Blackthorn Events is built for. Glad that's been the experience for your team.

The learning curve on advanced configuration is real, and it comes up enough that it's genuinely on our radar. We're thinking carefully about how to make that experience smoother, particularly for complex templates and custom workflows.

"Great Time-Saver for Streamlined Event Registration Processing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

It’s a great time-saver once we have our event structure set up. For our business, the back-end processing for event registrations has been the most useful part. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

You have to accept that the software was designed to operate in the education market. Some of the design choices feel geared more toward B2C than B2B customers, particularly when it comes to invoicing and payment processing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Glad to hear the registration and communication automation has given your events team room to focus on the actual events again instead of getting buried in admin.

The point about B2B invoicing and payment processing is interesting. If you're open to it, I'd like to hear more detail on where the B2C/education assumptions show up for you (invoice format, payment terms, approval workflows, whatever it is).

"Seamless Salesforce Integration That Streamlines Event Automation"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

The native integration with Salesforce is easily the standout feature for us. Since it’s built directly into the CRM environment, we can rely on standard Flow automation to run our event processes end to end, which has eliminated a huge amount of manual work. The event wizard is also great for quickly spinning up new registration sites, and the option to clone events has made managing our recurring schedule far more efficient than the old, manual approach we used before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Honestly, the only real drawback is that their updates can sometimes introduce minor regression issues that end up breaking existing features. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does mean you need to be disciplined about testing everything in a Sandbox environment before pushing any updates to Production. That’s standard best practice anyway, but with this platform it’s a step you really can’t afford to skip. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Corey, keeping event data where your sales and marketing teams already live is the whole point of building natively in Salesforce. No reconciliation, no exports, ROI visible in the same place decisions get made. That outcome is what we build toward.

The regression feedback is heard. We're constantly refining our release processes to catch those issues earlier and that's not something we're complacent about.

And that last line in your review sums it up better than we could: data living where your teams work, with business impact that's actually traceable. That's the win!

"Seamless Salesforce Integration, Flexible Customization, and Responsive Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

Our team really appreciates Blackthorn Events’ integration with Salesforce, along with the customization options and regular feature updates. We also value how accessible Blackthorn Support is and how willing they are to help our team when we need assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Blackthorn’s UI isn’t the most intuitive, especially for folks who aren’t as well-versed in Salesforce’s structure and layouts. It’s been frustrating at times when features that are critical to our team go offline at inopportune moments, but we do appreciate Blackthorn’s follow-through in restoring functionality and continuing to make improvements. "Effortless Setup, Remarkable Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I like that Blackthorn Events is very easy to set up each time we want to create a new event. It's also capable of handling extremely complicated tasks, especially with how it integrates with Salesforce and manages payments, etc. The initial setup was pain-free and an easy process. Since then, we haven't had any issues at all, and the integration is seamless. I also appreciate the product's ability to handle complex tasks like restricting who sees certain events and sessions, and features like Pay Later which we use for sponsorships. Over the years, Blackthorn Events has significantly improved as a product and the team has been extremely collaborative with us regarding improving their products, aligning with the latest Salesforce updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Nothing comes to mind. We love the product Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Years of use with nothing coming to mind for the dislike section is about as strong an endorsement as it gets, Andrew. Really appreciate you sharing that.

The collaboration piece means a lot to hear. We'll keep it up.

"Seamless Salesforce Integration, Optimal Event Organization"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I particularly like the seamless integration of Blackthorn Events into Salesforce. It provides our sales team with visibility regarding which customers are interested in certain qualifications and certifications. The participants' data is easily integrated into our sales data structure. The templates for event pages are very easy to fill out, and the initial setup was relatively intuitive. Additionally, I appreciate the smooth networking with our Salesforce environment, which allows us to easily exchange data and create transparency about our customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Perhaps there could be more options to make the output of the event pages and catalog pages more personalized. There are a number of templates and customization options, for example through CSS, but it could be even more individualized. Make the output of the event pages for the web even more on brand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Your point on personalization is a good one. We're working on broadening our clients' ability to customize and brand their event content beyond the current CSS options, and we'll make sure this feedback reaches our development team.

It's rewarding to hear Blackthorn is helping create transparency between your sales team and academy while supporting capacity planning across your events.

"Seamless Salesforce Integration, Stellar Event Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I really like that Blackthorn Events is built natively on Salesforce, which lets us integrate event management directly into the platform where our constituent data already resides. This setup gives us greater flexibility, eases data synchronization challenges, and allows for more meaningful reporting and engagement tracking. The responsiveness and willingness to collaborate from the Blackthorn team have been great, particularly as we've evaluated new functionalities and given feedback through the beta program. I also found the initial setup to be quite straightforward and it was extremely helpful to have the opportunity to vet the product in a trial org against other tools we use. The ability to leverage existing Salesforce CRM data and related processes with Blackthorn Events has been valuable for reimagining the alumni experience, providing staff with efficient access to create, manage, and support events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

At this stage, UPenn has not identified any significant gaps or challenges with the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Hearing that UPenn is using Blackthorn to reimagine the alumni experience is meaningful to read. That's exactly the kind of work the native Salesforce architecture makes possible, and it sounds like the trial org gave you the right foundation to make a confident decision.

The beta program feedback has been genuinely useful on our end too. Looking forward to what's ahead.

"Effortless Event Management with Salesforce Integration"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I like that Blackthorn Events integrates with Salesforce and utilizes the event wizard portion. The integration with Salesforce is scalable across our entire footprint, which is five states and 25 account managers. It helps us stay organized and utilize existing information like phone numbers and email addresses to maintain contacts. We use it as an iframe on our WordPress-based website, which means we no longer have to post events to multiple websites. We set them up in Salesforce, and they feed automatically to the iframe. The initial setup was very easy, with a very thorough onboarding session. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Sometimes Blackthorn Events is unable to match contacts with existing contacts in Salesforce due to alternate email addresses or nicknames, which causes duplicate records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michelle Petrel of Blackthorn Events

"Versatile Salesforce Integration That Covers Most Use Cases"
4/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

The integration with Salesforce and the versatility of the platform. While it doesn't completely capture every use case we needed, the out-of-the-box functionality was sufficient to capture 95% of use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

In some cases the UX of the user facing assets isn't the best. Some long forms should for example offer the option of pagination, the full-width design shows a hero image within a larger version of the same image and doesn't seem to be customisable, it is really hard to make this design work for most images. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

We're glad the Salesforce integration and platform versatility are covering most of your event booking needs, and that the attendee insights are helping you personalize communications.

On the UX feedback, pagination for long forms and more flexibility around the hero image sizing/customization are both fair points. I don't see these specifically logged with our product team yet, so I'll make sure they get captured for our roadmap discussions.

If you want to walk through specific use cases where the out-of-the-box functionality falls short, feel free to reach out directly. We're always looking to close that gap.
