The on-line donation forms give our supporters a secure way to donate to the causes that are important to them, It also provides an easy way to steward our donor base ### 4. Like, "we need the service to be able to do x" except "if you want to do x, you have to purchase y." C'mon. The renewal costs are INSANE and the fact that BB has been threatening to take Database View away for years is a non-starter. The moment BB takes away RE Database View is the moment I find another CRM. Good way of keeping track of our extra time put in. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** I cant really say there was a downside to using the app. Some did find it difficult when it came down to making reports, which I never had to do personnally so my experience was simple log in and log out voluntary community work done. I can easily segment my donors for mailings, keep track of touchpoints, and plan fundraising events. And, the support team is always accessible and helpful. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** I am not as familar with the backend of the software and still have a lot of learning to do. The report pulling component is still a little complex. The vision was very compelling - the best of their desktop CRM while simultaneously developing a web-based experience that would gradually replace the desktop application. Early versions of the web-based application were user-friendly and appreciated. Drag-and-drop layout organization and tile expansion was convenient and easy. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** Over the last few years, the development pace has dropped off considerably. The desktop application is still much more likely to be where administrators and power users live. The web-based application remains a glorified data entry location and viewing center for casual users. Even worse, support for the product has steadily been growing worse. A revolving door of support technicians makes it very difficult to communicate ongoing issues with the product. **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Raiser's Edge was an early entry in the donor CRM space. Over the last couple of decades, it became apparent that donor behaviors were different from customer behaviors. RE NXT initially adapted to this paradigm difference. ### 19. You need a data expert to work in the database view, not simple and straightforward. **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** The marketing feature is nice although it lacks important reporting. Donation forms are great, you can embed them completely into your website.The process to create donate forms along with automatic response is very simple to learn. So the problems it solved was helping us communicate with donors, fundraise and keep track of donations. ### 33. Four conpany maximized the use of housing donor data for development purposes. This software helped us to stay up to date with our donor, get them salocitations, invite them to events and send them general emails. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** Raisers Edge I believe is a CRM system. I'm sure that there are newer ones out that have more capability. I used an even older one Civi and Salesforce but if I can be honest Raisers Edge was my favorite. **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Alllwong companies to house all donor data in one place and use it for various purposes to cultivate the donor relationship. The question mark in the upper right-hand corner makes it easy to find information about the screen you're using, and how you should be using it. One of the best things overall is that to use NXT, Blackbaud pushes its clients into best practices. You have to go out of your way to use the system incorrectly - which is a complete 180 of the classic RE, or DB view. From looking at pledges and their payments to adding relationships and not having to guess what is the correct relationship/reciprocal combination, to the work center, it's all fantastic. Plus, you don't have to worry about the added layer of Citrix if one is only using the webview. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** 1. Constituent matching leaves a LOT be desired: event registrations, donations, and tributes. Creates a lot of duplicates. 2. Lack of controls process with gifts: no batch commit control report when approving batches in webview. 3. Gift fields such as constituency, gift code, and the ability to apply cash gifts to pledges not available in NXT gifts 4. Unable to search for record types other than constituents (without using lists) 5. Unable to query on the NXT email fields, such as the fields that are available when querying on BBNC fields in database view **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** NXT is forcing users to consider how the data is configured and how features are being used. In the database view, it's much easier to get things wrong. Dealing with duplicates and deceased constituents is also a huge improvement. ### 44. As the marketing manager, I can coordinate my campaigns and emails and know when people are being talked to **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** Some of the features are clunky and not as modernized as I'd like. For instance, the email/marketing feature is not very user-friendly, doesn't allow for a lot of customization, and doesn't have comprehensive tracking that can help me with optimizing our outbound one-off emails or campaigns. I also had to outsource a way for people to actually sign up for an email list - this used to be available to us through Online Express (the old-school, desktop version of RE, but they got rid of it) **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having never worked directly for a nonprofit, I began using NXT because it was the chosen program for our nonprofit and has been for several years. From my understanding, the program was too complicated in its initial adoption for it to be properly used and it took me a long time to get used to the program and warm up to. While I don't have much to compare it to in terms of functional software in the nonprofit space, it has become a more reliable tool. It has many strengths and weaknesses. As a marketing manager, there are many more complex tools I wish it had, and I wish the programs to connect the external tools to make my job easier weren't so expensive. But as a CRM tool, it does its job. I know for our organization, the only way it works at its best for us is when our main employee is updating us on new tools, or how to optimize different tasks we use NXT for. We continue to find new tools and ways to use it for our benefit. I would say one of the more frustrating elements is that it sometimes feels like it's a Beta program, with new additions and updates happening almost daily. It's a behemoth of a platform and what seem like necessary updates in my mind or a team member's mind usually are not top of the list for them. I do really like all the training available to become certified as a "Pro" user in a way. Lots to learn! ### 45.
