Has caused major issues with overbookings. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Online Express:** Make sure you can get at least 80% of what you need from the product. It works well and can provide you realtime info relative to your registrations. Building giving forms, updating them in real-time, and making gift processing easy/integrated, I recommend this part of OE. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Online Express?** The Email and Event pieces still feel incomplete and need significant improvement. We can't use the email tool because the variable merge fields are so restrictive; you have very few choices and nothing you can manually map (like an attribute with a gift ask or last gift information). Email for communication/stewardship works, but not a solicitation. The Event tool is a big disappointment; the videos do not fully explain how it works, and the complexity of an event is limited. This piece has been recommended to Blackbaud on the forum with MANY votes. They need to do something about this soon. **What problems is Blackbaud Online Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our online giving evolved from a "homemade" online form to a user-friendly, more complex giving experience for our donors and easier processing in house. ### 7. It is relatively easy to learn quickly and gives you a decent amount of features to customize your forms and connect with BBMS. The features for Tribute Gifts, Recurring Gifts, and Notes are great, but some features are missing in the product as well. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Online Express?** Online Express is limited in the flexibility of the forms, adding custom parts/boxes, and manipulating response emails after an online form has been completed. It would be nice to have more customized options for response emails to staff and donors, as well as being able to pull some more of the form input details into the email messages than what is currently available. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Online Express:** If you need a service that does not embed into your website (e.g., it creates its own pages like Constant Contact or Salsa Labs) then Online Express will not meet your needs. However, it does provide more flexibility for end-users and does not require specific coding knowledge to create and change online forms. **What problems is Blackbaud Online Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** Online Express replaced the use of SalsaLabs within our organization. While there are differences in available features, Online Express is much easier to use than SalsaLabs and does not require the coding knowledge that SalsaLabs did. We have also been able to accommodate Tribute gifts more with Online Express, and that has been helpful. ### 8. Intuitive and generally user friendly, the forms communicate with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge to create a streamlined experience. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Online Express?** Blackbaud's email portion of the Online Express add-on is absolutely frustrating. The User experience is not intuitive, complicated, and the outcome of the emails looks outdated and unattractive. There has not been any updates that I am aware of to the Online Express plug-in. It is so user unfriendly that we have chosen to export our email addresses and utilize a different program (Constant Contact) because of the product that you can produce with their easy to use system. I have inquired many times about when Online Express will be updated, only to be told that perhaps I should use Luminate instead. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Online Express:** Perhaps look at other solutions before choosing Blackbaud Online Express. **What problems is Blackbaud Online Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creating donation and registration forms has been easy using Online Express. I have been very pleased with the results. The fact that it speaks with Raiser's Edge has been a huge benefit. ### 10. I don't like anything about this. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Online Express?** Everything. You can't even log on smoothly like you can with literally any other mail service provider; you need to find a bizarre URL and use a username and password that doesn't work anywhere else on Blackbaud. If you forget the password, you can't reset it like you can with any other platform, instead, you need to contact an administrator, which is bs. Then, you have to download a plugin, and get this - you have to download this plugin every single time you want to open Online Express. Just let that sink in, you have to download something from a bizarre URL every. single. time. Then you log in again on a window that can only be described as something that was created when you'd still have to unplug your phone and fax machine to use the internet. No joke, no exaggeration, it looks like it's never been updated since Windows 1998. I didn't even bother making an email campaign in there, given the shit show it already proved itself to be. Stick with literally any other provider and keep your business in the 21st century! **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Online Express:** DO NOT USE THIS! It's honestly the biggest pile of crap, and you can't implement it with anything else that people living in 2019 use, e.g Zapier. I have no idea why a company is still pushing a platform with the capabilities and user interface of something stuck in the 90s. It's insanely bad and costs a fortune on long contracts. There are no benefits unless you've never used a computer before and this is the first time you've used anything other than a fax machine. ### 11. I have used the tool to raise money (not a ton, but we do get a smattering of donations through OX), which has been a great benefit. Considering these aren't fundraising emails, simply emails that happen to have a donate button, this is a nice little perk. ### 12. We use WordPress website so you could take the code and embed on your site. It's very easy to create forms and they are very easy to use and it's an easy process for the donor making a gift. You are able to setup pledge payments options so donors could choose when they would like pledge gifts to be taken from their account. Givealanche is a feature which allows users who make gifts to share with their networks to also make a gift. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Online Express?** I wish they offered recurring donation feature on their forms however they say this is coming. Their tools are a little pricey. Customer service sometimes is very slow to respond. Sometimes they say it will take days for someone to get back to you about any form issues. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Online Express:** Take advantage of free demos, Blackbaud knowledgebase articles and free online Youtube videos. They are very easy templates to use so i definitely would add online express for your needs if you are looking to create email and donation forms. **What problems is Blackbaud Online Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to create easy to use donation forms which simplify the process on our end and the donor end. We are able to create email forms easily and it's a user friendly, attractive platform. ### 13. It's easy for donors to complete their transaction online, and it's perhaps even easier on the backend to complete the process and accept and log the donations. It's easy to understand and use. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Online Express?** The email marketing feature is not as intuitive as one would hope. There are some clunky attributes with this feature, and we have to put employees through Blackbaud courses on this aspect in order for things to be properly designed and well functioning. I wish there were more opportunities to format different aspects than there are. **What problems is Blackbaud Online Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a smooth online donation platform, as well as a good way to use our database information to send out communications. Although designing emails can be clunky, it also is easy to log sent emails in individual records. The system is able to give you additional data, like click and bounceback rates, after a communication is sent. ### 14. I wish that there was integration here and that Online Express could be a one-stop-shop for all donations. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Online Express:** I would love it if there was a way to integrate Blackbaud Merchant Services into Online Express. **What problems is Blackbaud Online Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** Online Express makes it east to transfer online donations into constituent profiles in Raiser's Edge. Without the batch upload process, this could be a time consuming process if you have a lot of donations. The transfer process through Online Express saves a lot of time. ### 15. It integrates nicely into our website and we can change color and font easily. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Online Express?** It is not super customize-able, so if we want to get extra information from respondents/registrants/donors, it's not that easy to do. It is especially difficult with our membership program as we would like to capture information like adults, children, birthdates, ages, etc. and can't because we can't customize. **What problems is Blackbaud Online Express solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are selling membership, event tickets and donations online. It is nice, simple and easy to use. And it integrates into our Blackbaud database easily. It is nice to have the form and credit card security go through Online Express. ### 20.
