Grant making allows for a lot customization and details. It saves documentation well. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Grantmaking?** Using the system is very difficult for casual users, and we have about 20. It is not intuitive and it is easy to make mistakes. The worst thing is that Grant making allows payments to process without all reviews being completed if the user accidentally approves too early. Customer support is often incorrect when I ask questions. Our CSM is regularly not available. **What problems is Blackbaud Grantmaking solving and how is that benefiting you?** Grant making helps us tell the story of charitable corporate contributions at my organization. Easy to learn, hard to use **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2017 **What do you like best about Blackbaud Grantmaking?** As a new development professional, I had found MicroEdge GIFTS to be pretty easy to learn and navigate around... at first. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Grantmaking?** We found MicroEdge GIFTS to be constantly buggy -- and it was very frustrating that if we wanted anything customized, we couldn't do that ourselves. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Grantmaking:** I was not involved in the decision to purchase/use MicroEdge GIFTS so it's difficult for me to judge the pricing and terms. **What problems is Blackbaud Grantmaking solving and how is that benefiting you?** MicroEdge GIFTS served as a CRM that our institution had been using for a while, and unfortunately leadership was not interested in purchasing a different (and better) solution. So it "worked" because we made it work, but we were very unhappy using it. ### 3. Back then, the user interface was antiquated. **What problems is Blackbaud Grantmaking solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used GIFTS as our grant tracking software for over a decade. It met our needs "back then" but failed to keep up with the changing times of technology until it was too late.
