The email marketing was outdated. The customer service was poor. **What problems is Blackbaud eTapestry solving and how is that benefiting you?** We stopped using the software when our contract term was up. ### 2. Adequate resources for training **What do you dislike about Blackbaud eTapestry?** Outdated interface in comparison to other products Reporting features are limited Doesn’t integrate well with additional software necessary for nonprofit operations **What problems is Blackbaud eTapestry solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prior to using e-tapestry, the nonprofit was using excel and other antiquated software to piece-meal operations, E-rap has helped streamline. ### 3. Disappointed with eTapestry **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Kathryn J. | Director of Community Relations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2019 **What do you like best about Blackbaud eTapestry?** I initially loved eTapestry and found that we were able to build a platform with the components that fit our needs. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud eTapestry?** Over time, eTapestry no longer allowed us to build our platform based on our needs but rather, they forced us into packages that were expensive and unneeded and put us in a contract. As a not-for-profit, our goal is to keep our administrative costs low so that we can pour our fundraising dollars back into our programs and services, not into the hands of eTapestry's parent company, Blackbaud. **What problems is Blackbaud eTapestry solving and how is that benefiting you?** There is no longer a benefit to us and once our contract is up in July, we will no longer retain this CRM. ### 4. It only took me able a month to figure out how to use. Enough storage for all our 22k accounts. Good customer support and client relationship. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud eTapestry?** Etapestry is outdated and there a better options now. There is no way to track process in Etap. For instance, when I am running a report, it is a total guess of what I will end up with. And if it doesn't come out the way out want, you have to dig through your Queries to try to make it right. SLOW. SO SLOW. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud eTapestry:** Upgrade. There are better options than Etap **What problems is Blackbaud eTapestry solving and how is that benefiting you?** Account Tracking, Money Tracking, Gift Processing. For Gift Processing, the "Journal" aspect is very clean and easy to use. ### 5. It's also somewhat easy to pull email lists and mailing lists based on constituency. The dashboard has been something we've tried to utilize as an organization, but haven't been able to fully incorporate it into our everyday fundraising practices. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud eTapestry?** The wealth screening or etap rating of a donor is not reliable. We can't easily different types of wealth screening data from other vendors. Perhaps most importantly, the email system that's accompanies etapestry is not something we feel comfortable sending to donors so we use Mail Chimp instead. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud eTapestry:** We are switching from etapestry to another donor management software that better suits our needs, because we have not been satisfied with etapestry's abilities. **What problems is Blackbaud eTapestry solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps us track our donor gifts and processing those gifts to keep accurate donor records. While we utilize contact reports to ensure donors are being cultivated well, beyond keeping records of contacts, etapestry doesn't help us with 'moves management' (for example, next actions and when we should reach out to current donors based on who is that particular donor's solicitor). ### 6. I always get the help I need and they are gracious enough to help me navigate their difficult system. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud eTapestry?** Etapestry has a very difficult user interface. I think that for as much as you pay for the database services pulling reports on donor information should be much easier. Its really frustrating that I have to go through so many steps. This is not a huge part of my job so I often need to get help from their chat support who always help but I think they need to change this. Etap is also not very modern looking. Even their customized skin options are not aesthetically pleasing. This may not seem like a big deal but donors are more likely to donate to a "pretty page" and one that looks modern like the organization's website. The donation and peer to peer pages have lots of limitations that people using them often complain about to us. Etap should consider adding modern features that lots of other companies offer such as complete customization of donation pages, donating birthday option, donating in honor of someone etc. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud eTapestry:** I would recommend fully taking advantage of the chat support. I would also clean up the reporting and not have multiple people create several reports which can make it very confusing. I think that users who can, upgrade to the customized skin as it seems like it will look more integrated into websites. **What problems is Blackbaud eTapestry solving and how is that benefiting you?** The peer to peer fundraising platform, although not modern and sometimes difficult does allow for people to fundraise for our organization. It is useful once I can navigate it to get donor information. The system is very frustrating sometimes but in the end we are able to raise money. I think we can raise more money if some of the limitations were gone but it gets the job done. ### 7. Be sure to take all of the training modules and keep up with training. **What problems is Blackbaud eTapestry solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have been able to track our events totally on eTapestry rather than tracking in excel. Saves us time with tracking and mailing to guests. ### 8.
