## Bitwave Reviews
  ### 1. Flexible Accounting Tool with Fantastic Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe D.

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

I think Bitwave is the most configurable and flexible of all the subledger platforms for digital assets out there. It can handle the highest degree of variable accounting treatments, which means it's super flexible whether you're dealing with bespoke treatments or just ensuring compliance with FASB, IFRS, and tax regulations. The implementation and support team at Bitwave were also very helpful, assisting me in getting everything configured according to my client's specific needs.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

Bitwave is a really capable system with a lot of functionality, similar to ERP systems like NetSuite or SAP, which means it takes time to learn the platform. Anyone who wants to be successful using Bitwave should leverage its documentation, help page, and work with the support team, which is excellent.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Bitwave for digital asset accounting, syncing on-chain and exchange data for my clients. It automates accounting, synchronizes journal entries into general ledgers or ERP systems, and offers flexible, configurable accounting treatments for compliance.

  ### 2. Felt software was designed by marketers, not accountants

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

The marketing and business development is good, possibly better than the actual product. The platform generally works and was tested by my company with hundreds of thousands of transactions. The various products in the market including Bitwave can integrate both centralized platform and onchain data readily, and have a decent UI/UX, and integrate USD pricing data. These are easy minimums and should not be the basis for choosing vendors in 2025.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

The design of the software and the capability of the people assigned was extremely frustrating. The volume of transactions needed was communicated several times to Bitwave. However, after signing, the company was not informed that the platform had capacity limits and transactions were consolidated or rolled up, causing distortions and negative balances because transactions were recorded out of order (deposits were moved ahead of withdrawals), and these rollups were not fully explained or documented. Reports were not in a format keyed to accounting data and key information was spread across two separate report formats the the company had to manually retrieve and combine. A transaction appeared that was not in the raw data and the discrepancy was not immediately acted on. An account manager assigned had no accounting or finance background. He focused more on walking clients through the UX, but when presented with any substantive issue, he would say yes to everything on long calls in another time zone, then schedule more calls. The quality of actual staff supporting weekly after you sign is frustrating unless you elevate to senior management, who are capable but obviously cannot manage the account day to day. My peers have the cyncial view that selecting a digital asset accounting provider is an exercise in choosing the least worst, least painful option among many imperfect options and you should just default to whoever will be the most responsive when you need to work through the inevitable bugs if you have any significant transaction volume.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They solved the basic issues of automatically downloading and collating centralized platform and onchain digital asset data, but there are problems in many nuances.

  ### 3. Bitwave is a great tool for crypto accounting.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wen G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

I used Bitwave for a few of our Crypto clients and it worked out very well. It helps to automate and streamline the crypto accounting process and reduce manual work. I like the accounting close feature as Bitwave provides the step and step instructions on how to perform monthly close accounting for Crypto work. It provides us the confidence that we are doing the crypto work correctly. Also, Bitwave will assign an onboarding specialist to help with the onboarding. This is extremely helpful as human support makes everything goes smoothly. I really like the human support part as it makes a big difference.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

There are some new blockchains and exchanges that Bitave is not supporting yet so it required a manual upload. Bitwave keeps making enhancements to the platform so they may available soon.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crypto accounting and track gain/loss.

  ### 4. Absolutely Incredible!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishi B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

You're not just paying for a software, you're paying for an all-encompassing solution to your crypto problems. The team is incredibly helpful - especially Xeres who guided us every step of the way through our year-closing. It would be impossible for us to do it without him, and we cannot imagine a future without Bitwave. Highly, highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

The filters on the transactions report should have more options - filter by transaction type, amount, etc.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crypto Accounting process streamlining

  ### 5. Great Crypto Accounting Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave does well at capturing crypto activity automatically through API connections. It calculates realized gain/loss amounts on your behalf, which you can then use to create journal entries in your ERP. There are a few good reports like the Balance reports, which you can run as of a particular date and use for Mark to Market journal entries. Good onboarding support and troubleshooting issues.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

Bitwave can seemingly miss picking up some transactions due to glitches, but if you discover them, they can resolve them. It would be nice if Bitwave had the ability to re-sync transactions to ERP if there are changes, without having to delete said transaction in ERP first.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwave saw our need for for a crypto accounting software and delivered a product that does just that. We needed a single ledger software to gather all our decentralized crypto activity into one place for accounting and reporting purposes. Their software so far has enabled us to do that well.

  ### 6. Bitwave - Crypto Accounting made simple with the help of experts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave is a powerful yet simple crypto accounting solution that focuses on being an EXTENSION of your existing system (quickbooks). I love this because most other solutions I looked at tried to do too much. Bitwave focuses on your core needs and does them very well.

You are paying for a service just as much as you are software. Their team was fantastic during the onboarding process. Not only did they help solve all of my issues, they were very knowledgeable and found answers/solutions very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

The UI & search certainly can be improved. But you can tell these are being actively improved and worked on. And that their initial focus was to ensure the accounting engine works very well before making the UI prettier and more usable.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us insanely valuable insights into our business activities on the digital asset side of the house. We're able to do all of our crypto bookkeeping super fast and reconcile it easily into our Quickbooks side by side with all of our other activity. This is invaluable for operating our business.

  ### 7. Bitwave works for both crypto monthly corporate accounting close and for tax reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David T. | CFO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave has been an invaluable tool for supporting venture-backed crypto companies with a range of business models and digital assets. Whereas most crypto software products support annual tax reporting, Bitwave also truly supports a monthly accounting close for the enterprise; from syncing with your accounting system (e.g. QBO, Netsuite) to providing supporting reports and a month-end reconciliation process.

On the support side, the Bitwave team is knowledgeable and responsive which is deeply appreciated as a professional service provider.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

Some newer blockchains and exchanges may be a manual import process, but Bitwave currently supports the major ones and is always adding more.

There are some Quality of Life improvements that can be done to enhance the experience and/or reduce the amount of time needed to close, such as additional filters on the Transaction tab or additional data being included in some of the downloadable reports. Bitwave listens to its customers and improvements are released throughout the year.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwave allows me to effectively and efficiently close the books for my corporate crypto clients as well as provide the proper information for tax filings.

  ### 8. Need Digital Assets Accounting Answers? Bitwave is my software solution for every type of client.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberly R. | Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Arbitrage, DeFi, NFT, Gaming... no matter the client Bitwave has been my software of choice. The software allows A/P, A/R, and ledger connections. My tax team likes the gain/loss report. My public entities love the time saved using the impairment report. I have yet to find another software that also allows you to record DeFi and staking AND NFTs appropriately. Plus, Bitwave's customer service is stellar.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

The downside... I don't think we'll ever get ahead of the ever-changing digital asset market. The bonus to Bitwave (unlike the others) is that as an accountant I can input my manual workaround for recording wonky new oddities that we wake up to each day (ie, superfluid staking and such). Bitwave is pretty fast at adding new features to meet the market or at least provide guidance on how to deal with each. Bitwave allows me to control my close and not wait on a development team for answers.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwave grants me control over my unruly data while delivering the accounting needs for my ledger. I went through 7 software systems for an arbitrage client before Bitwave enabled me to account for all the transactions appropriately. I've been hooked ever since. The Bitwave team is knowledgeable about all areas of the digital asset world which greatly assists with the implementations we face juggling a variety of clients. A key area for most clients is being able to apply the crypto payments against the ledger a/p directly from Bitwave (as well as receiving payments and applying against a/r). Bonus: the gain/loss report appeases that pesky tax department too. Lot IDs, spec id... you name it.

  ### 9. Bitwave - Complete suite for crypto accounting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zain A. | Senior Accountant - Defi and NFT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

I like using bitwave because of its reporting features . There are two key reports which i use for my close the balance report and the gains and losses these help me get an understanding of my portfolio as well as the holding gains and losses of my portfolio.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

There is no custom reporting at this point - this would be a good feature in the future.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the problem of proper record keeping of crypto transactions

  ### 10. Cyrpto Accounting made easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allison J. | Director/Finance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave presents transactions in an interface that is easy to view, organize and categorize. Review and corrections are simple prior to upload to QBs.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

While interpretation was not impossible, the terms used in reports lack consistency and are not in typical accountant speak.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I understand improvements are coming to the user interface with gains/losses reports which was my only criticism.

  ### 11. Great Crypto accounting software.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Great customer support when there are issues or we have questions. The integration with Quickbooks Online works seamlessly. I would recommend Bitwave.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

It would be nice to have the ability to set a default price for stablecoins so that it doesn't have to be manually overridden. I understand that this may be possible at more premium levels. At times, the platform takes some time to load.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwave makes it very easy to track cost basis and realized/unrealized gain loss.

  ### 12. Leading Crypto Accounting Software that seamlessly integrates with your ERP.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Crypto Accounting software that accounts for Defi transactions and is compatible with Netsuite, Xero and Quickbooks. Also has excellent support service.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

It's not the cheapest but it's worth it.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Removing the manual process of capturing crypto transactions and calculating the gain on loss automatically.

  ### 13. Crypto accounting is complicated. Using Bitwave helps uncomplicate it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mel C. | Partner/Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave is a top-notch, robust platform that handles just about any crypto accounting problem you can come up with. It's also more than just a platform - the team behind Bitwave is passionate about crypto and they just don't say "they like to solve the hard problems", they actually do solve them.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

The hardest thing in this industry is trying to stay one step ahead of the innovation which happens every single day. Bitwave does a good job keeping up with it.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By using Bitwave, we're able to manage the crypto accounting transactions more efficiently and effectively. This makes a big difference in being able to deliver a great client experience by creating accurate and timely financials.

  ### 14. Bitwave from an accountant's perspective

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruben P. | Digital Asset Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave does a great job of tracking defi transactions, LP positions, and digital asset prices at the time of transactions. The ability to apply accurate tax treatment is seamless and the reporting system is getting better as the UX/UI improves. The team is also very responsive to any problems or questions you might run into while on platform

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

It's hard to filter transactions on-platform to be specific so the only workaround is downloading reports but not a bad issue at all. When working with specific defi clients with their own set of new and improved protocols, depending on the intricacy of the protocol, it could take a while to integrate accurate reporting.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Probelms include: Tax reporting, Digital Asset fund management, mark-to-market asset tracking, fund flow, etherscan transactions, and defi wallet positions. All help able to take defi transactions and turn them into understandable financials for clients.

  ### 15. Wave goodbye to your crypto accounting woes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Walter Z. | Digital Asset Services Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave is a one-stop-shop that ingests, interprets, and prices your blockchain activity while seemlessly integrating with your accounting software of choice to provide an efficient record keeping solution. Bitwave produces various reports that support accounting, audit, and tax needs including an impairment report which accurately calculates your expense based on customizable pricing and frequency options.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

The only constant in crypto is change. Keeping up with ever-evolving blockchains & protocols is what sets crypto software apart from each other. Bitwave does an awesome job staying on the bleeding edge of this innovation but inevitably manual adjustments and quirky workarounds are sometimes necessary when clients are the first-movers on a new dApp or blockchain.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwave is the solution every crypto native company has been searching for. It provides accurate and timely records with an audit trail to boot. Without Bitwave, impairment analysis for thousands of transactions would take days instead of seconds.

  ### 16. This is the best software in the game when it comes to Impairment preparation and management.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Outside of the software itself, Mohit and the team is incredibly proactive when it comes to making sure we have all of our questions answered.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

There aren't a lot of cons - the team is very quick on it's feet when we recommend a feature addition or modifications to the layout. Great experience.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They handle our entire organizations Impairment calculations.

  ### 17. 10/10 Would Recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa S. | Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

When I launched my first project, the tax calculation implications were massive and even our CPAs were overwhlemed. In finding Bitwave, my concerns immediately went away. Onboarding was incredibly easy and the team is always responsive. I recommend them to every person I know looking to launch a project in the Web3 world.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

No downsides for me - they make a scary thing less scary.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My biggest concern was how to track the massive number of transactions on-chain and calculate the gain and loss on those transactions. They solved this problem for me immediately and for a totally reasonable cost.

  ### 18. Easy to Use Cryto Accounting Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate V. | Corporate Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave is so easy to use! It lets us code all of our crypto transactions for more than 20 wallets in one place and seamlessly sync to our GL system. This makes bookkeeping so easy. The support we get from the Bitwave Team is amazing!

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

Bitwave can further enhance its basic features to include better filtering and search options as well as customizable reports. We're also excited about future capabilities they will roll out, including AR/AP functions.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwave streamlined our month-end close process. We are able to close our books in days!!

  ### 19. Bitwave can handle most of what I throw at it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

I get great value in the fact that I can simply add a wallet address (and/or account with a centralized exchange) and Bitwave brings in all transactions. It matches wallet transfers, account transfers, bridging, etc. It handles most all of my DeFi activity, trading activity, and NFT. When I went deep in my research for different solutions, Bitwave was built to work on more chains than any other software. It doesn't support all chains, but nobody does.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

The manual import process could be a bit smoother. I only need to do that on chains for which they don't support though. And once I get my transactions into the system, Bitwave handles the rest.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In addition to tracking all of my activity, Bitwave also tracks my cost basis and book basis. There is a cool tool where I can choose between a variety of strategies (LIFO, FIFO, DCA, etc) and run tax scenarios to compare the various outcomes.

  ### 20. Bitwave solves enterprise digital asset headaches.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirk Phillips C. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave is the only enterprise digital asset accounting and tax product for the widest range of use cases that is capable of capturing crypto used for operating expenses and trades categorized to all correct P&L and balance sheet accounts in your accounting system of choice resulting in a balance that balances, an accurate P&L and correct capital gain and loss calculations.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

Not all chains are supported yet but this is an industry challenge not a Bitwave issue. UX should be much better but nuts and bolts is what counts

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Already mentioned but all aspects of enterprise use of digital assets can be captured and summarized in legacy accounting software with near-perfect reconciliation in most cases.

  ### 21. Simple yet versatile digital asset bookkeeping

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Effertz T. | Asset Alchemist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

The versatility of Bitwave is its greatest feature. You can fully integrate all your digital assets into one subledger on the G/L...apply payments, JE expenses/revenue, track trades, and calculate gains all in one program.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

The manual process of recording DeFi staking can be time consuming, but the automated process is pretty quick. But with new protocols every day, it is impossible to avoid manual entries.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It properly captures digital assets off of the blockchain (which most explorers don't), and it gives you reports that can be used to audit your assets & activity. This can then be used to create supporting documentation for auditors and stakeholders.

  ### 22. Best Accounting Software for Digital Assets on the Market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron D. | Director of Finance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Easy-to-use software that makes it quick and easy to track and record crypto transactions

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

Some of the Defi functionality is still being built out, but currently can handle most transactions.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bitwave makes it easy to track and record crypto transactions. The program syncs with our ERP system simplifying our monthly and quarter close procedures.

  ### 23. Best for DeFi accounting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devin E. | SVP Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Tracking DeFi activity is the most robust feature I used with Bitwave. The capabilities here far exceed any other platform's to monitor and record on chain activity.

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

It's a tall task to keep up across networks. Bitwave has been impressive keeping up, but at times there is a lag.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accounting for digital assets
Balance tracking
Activity integrations - on chain, exchange, etc.

All of this reduces hours spent and headcount for what was previously an exercise that took multiple full time employees to perform manually.

  ### 24. Bitwave has built and continues to improve upon a product that handles crypto really well

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

Bitwave's customer service is what sets them apart. Second to that are the reports which allow us to provide clients a clear picture of their activity

**What do you dislike about Bitwave?**

Some chains and exchanges may not currently be available, but they are always adding to the list so I know they will be available in the future

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simply put, Bitwave solves the problem of accounting for digital assets for multiple agencies. We are able to provide accurate recording of digital asset activity for tax, GAAP, and audit purposes all in Bitwave

  ### 25. Bitwave is fantastic

**What do you like best about Bitwave?**

My CPA firm has been working with Bitwave for quite some time. The platform is very robust and user-friendly. Their team is extremely responsive and knowledgeable.

Nothing. All crypto accounting software has issues. However, once we uncover an issue, the Bitwave team jumps right on it and resolves it for us in an efficient and effective manner.

**What problems is Bitwave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As you know, crypto accounting is very complicated and tedious. With that said, Bitwave gives us the ability to create "audit-ready" books and records for our clients.
