## About Bitwarden
Bitwarden is an open source password manager for individuals, teams, and enterprise organizations. Ranked first in Enterprise User Satisfaction on the G2 Enterprise Grid for eleven consecutive quarters, Bitwarden stores, generates, autofills, and shares credentials and passkeys using end-to-end AES-256 bit encryption. Bitwarden is a zero-knowledge encryption solution, meaning only the user can access vault data. The Bitwarden source code is publicly available on GitHub and undergoes regular third-party security audits, covering penetration testing, cryptographic analysis, and source code review. Bitwarden is SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and Data Privacy Framework (DPF) compliant. Manage passwords and passkeys - Generate and store strong, unique passwords and passkeys, saved securely across unlimited devices. - Access credentials from anywhere, on any device - Bitwarden offers multiple client options including desktop, mobile, browser, web, and command-line interface (CLI). - Autofill makes it fast and secure to seamlessly log in to websites and apps across devices. Monitor and reduce credential risk - Real-time vault health alerts surface weak, reused, or exposed passwords - Bitwarden Access Intelligence identifies shadow IT and at-risk credentials across an organization, with guided remediation workflows at scale. - Turn on multifactor authentication (MFA) for vault login using a time-based one-time password (TOTP) app or security key. The standalone Bitwarden Authenticator app also generates TOTP codes for any account or service that supports authenticator-based two-factor authentication (2FA). - Exportable event logs provide transparency into user activity around sensitive data within an organization vault. Enterprise integrations and deployment - Bitwarden deploys in both cloud-based and on-premises environments, including self-hosted options for full data sovereignty. - Directory Connector and System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) integration streamline user and group onboarding with automatic account provisioning and deprovisioning across Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, and LDAP-based directories. - Bitwarden connects to existing tech stacks with single sign-on (SSO), APIs, and CLI automations, and feeds event logs directly into security operations platforms including Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Rapid7, and Elastic. Share encrypted information at scale - Use organization collections to share credentials securely. - Vault items are owned by the organization, not individual employees, enabling full credential lifecycle management. - Transmit encrypted information, text, and attachments to anyone via a secure, randomly generated link through Bitwarden Send.

  ### 44. Best Free password manager out there!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lalit A. | Internshala Student Partner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

Bitwatern is a really good password manager. You can generate random passwords. The best part is it's free, and even the pro plan is just priced at $1 per month or $10 annually. For the organisation pack, I don't find much value in paying because it is already open source and you get access to all the basic features, including login to multiple devices, for free. Apart from that, you can also share passwords in the free account. So I don't think small organisations need to pay ever.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

There are some bugs, like whenever I enable that the vault should unlock with Touch ID on my Mac, sometimes it gets automatically disabled. Also, there is a problem with the phone app, as it doesn't automatically prompt me to enter the password in the password field of every website using the mobile app, whether it's an iPhone or Android. What I have to do is go into the app, unlock the vault, find the password, copy it, and then paste it onto the website. So there should be a faster way. I noticed only a few times when the password was automatically filled directly in the website/app, but it doesn't happen most of the time. I don't know what the issue is there.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of using the same passwords everywhere, I'm generating random passwords with the help of Bitwarden any time I have to sign up for anything. Now, I have to worry less about password leaks and password stealing (physically) as even if someone sees my password, they won't remember it because of the complexity of random passwords.

  ### 45. Great app for work and family, a must have.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

The UI has improved a lot over the years. It’s very easy to use, and saving passwords is straightforward through the browser or the mobile app.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

I’d like to see support for bulk editing passwords, along with easier options to delete items and move them to other containers.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to remember passwords for a lot, and I mean a lot, of sites, and it gets overwhelming. It really helps that I can store them in one place and also share a password with my spouse when we both need access.

  ### 46. Easy Navigation with Some Popup Drawbacks

I like how easy Bitwarden is to navigate, which makes it straightforward to use for saving passwords. The initial setup was also easy, making it convenient to get started right away.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

I don't like its popups. It pops up for everything.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Bitwarden to save passwords, and I like how easy it is to navigate.

  ### 47. The best user-friendly password manager from the perspective of an admin

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan E. | Security Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

We are still using Bitwarden several years after my initial review, and it is still working great. Especially as an admin they have given me more ways to manage all the users in my organization. The one issue I had previously is that people had a password storage space (i.e. folder) in their own vault, and in the organisations vault, and removing someone from the organization did not remove anything in their own vault. This is fine in principle, but many users accidentally saved their entries in their own vault, meaning I could not restrict their access when it came time for that. Luckily they improved that; they include now multiple options to restrict users from saving in their own vault, or for linking their own vault to the organization as well.

Among other things I appreciate the password reset options I can use as an admin to reset someone's password. Once past the initial learning curve, which is typical for any new password manager, our regular users have found it intuitive to use and I haven't heard any complaints. It also just works for both our Windows, Mac and Linux users without any issues as far as I am aware.

All that for a very decent price (which hasn't increased (yet), even in this more expensive economy).

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

For the everyday user, Bitwarden is perfect. Getting into your vault from the browser extension is easy, and it generally is good at autofilling in your passwords and saving new ones without any issues.

But as an admin for an organization, that's where I still see some room for improvement. While Bitwarden keeps improving its admin console and gives us tools like audit logs and reports for weak or reused passwords, they could be even better, especially as our team is growing, for instance:

- It'd be super helpful if we could run those security reports (for finding weak or reused passwords) just on a single collection instead of the whole organization's vault. Because our vault is now pretty big, running a full check sometimes make my browser freeze up. Plus, not being able to audit just one department or project makes it tough to really drill down and make sure specific teams are following our security rules. Add to that the fact that generating these reports is quite slow (a few minutes for a team of 100 users).

- I can see when individual users last logged in by digging into their profiles, but it'd be so much easier if there was just one simple table or dashboard showing everyone's last login date. Right now, I have to go user by user, and that's just not efficient when you're trying to keep an eye on a lot of accounts to spot anyone who's been inactive for too long. Furthermore, this just shows you that they logged in recently, it is alot trickier to detect if they actually use Bitwarden correctly. This can now only be done (as far as I am aware) by exporting audit logs and doing some spreadsheet magic to find the people not using Bitwarden correctly.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Bitwarden for all our employees to ensure they have unique, strong passwords for each and every account. We also use Bitwarden to share some passwords in a secure mannerthat need to be shared.

  ### 48. Bitwarden - A Reliable and Secure Password Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fiorindo D. | System Security Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Bitwarden?**

Bitwarden stands out to me because of its combination of top-tier security and simplicity. The fact it’s open source gives me additional peace of mind because its code undergoes continuous scrutiny from the community. It offers peace of mind knowing all my information is encrypted. Even better is the fact it syncs effortlessly across all my devices. No more scrambling for passwords. The password generator is superb for creating strong and unique passwords and the autofill makes logging into sites very easy. Overall, my digital life is more secure and much easier to manage.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

Even though Bitwarden is a great tool in general, there are a couple of areas for improvement. Occasionally, the autofill option is inoperative on specific websites, which means I have to copy and paste passwords — inconvenient. The layout looks a little dated, so it could use a more contemporary redesign. Furthermore, for tech illiterate individuals, the process of configuring two-factor authentication can be somewhat perplexing at first. These are not the worst usability issues, but they are the features that Bitwarden could enhance.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Passwords are managed and secured by Bitwarden. It helps to better secure my accounts with unique, strong passwords. Being stored in a single place and synchronized between my devices, it saves me time and trouble. I need not keep many passwords in mind or be concerned about weak ones, which makes my online life simpler and safer.

They keep releasing features almost every month. The user experience has grown even more.

**What do you dislike about Bitwarden?**

Even though they have added many settings to the organization management page, I still believe the admin needs more control to the org.

**What problems is Bitwarden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are storing and sending passwords more securely.
