I made mine the most stringent, and I chose to test bitdefender. Bitdefender goes a step further than a typical IDS, it really acts more as an IPS. The test I ran that sealed the deal for me, was a simple port scan. I kept trying to run a port scan on my home network, and my linux laptop kept getting DOS'd. When i traced the packets to figure it out, it turned out the bitdefender agent running on my gaming computer had detected the port scan on the network and launched its own counter-attack by sending out massive packets of random data to the scan source, in this case my laptop. After i watched the consumer (home) version of bitdefender DOS my own laptop, I fell in love. It took a couple of years, but eventually i was able to push for GravityZone here at Elsewhen Technology, and last year we made the switch from sentinelone. Bitdefender is unequivacolly better than sentinelone, and I sincerely feel that the only reason sentinel is viewed as so good is because their marketing team is stellar, while their product is horrendous. At that time we both were young and courageous. I am a physicist engineer and I have worked for one of the best software companies in the world (UBI Soft Entertainment) and I can tell that my colleague (Compouter Engineer) was one of the best in his job. Bitdefender is a Romanian company that can compete with the best Antivirus Companies in the world (Total AV, AVG, Norton etc). What I like the best at Bitdefender (and especially at the Bitdefender comapny) is that they have people that are very good in their job and that their antivirus is probably the best in the world (although the Bitdefender antivirus is much more slower that their competitors from the US). Romanian products are good and very good, and I can say that Bitdefender is a very good Romanian product, better that Total AV and Norton. **What do you dislike about Bitdefender GravityZone XDR?** The Bitdefender is too slow when compared with the antiviruses from the US companies. To run an antivirus from morning to the end of the day is too much. Altough they are probably the best in the world, the Bitdefender team have much to learn from their US colleagues when it comes to running fast a computer program. Also the prices of the Bitdefender antivirus products are too high. They have to learn also Business if they want to stay competitive in this industry. **What problems is Bitdefender GravityZone XDR solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used the free Bitdefender antivirus in the past, now I am using US made antiviruses because they run faster and are much cheaper.
