**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2023

**What do you like best about BioRender?**

Biorender is very easy to use for someone who has zero graphic design experience. It has most of the graphics one would need in medicine or science and they are customizable. Complex images can be broken down and certain elements added or removed. In addition, Biorender provides exceptional customer support and occassionally has free webinars to demonstrate how to successfully use their product in academia.

**What do you dislike about BioRender?**

BioRender doesn't have every single image you can imagine but I believe customer service would be open to considering other design ideas if you let them know. This is not a dislike but just a comment that BioRender is not AI and doesn't generate the entire figure for you. You still have to have a clear idea of what you are trying to generate (create a sketch ahead of time) and you need some creativity in design aesthetics to get a figure to look great. Luckily if you contact the company they may be able to help you or provide free webinars.

**What problems is BioRender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to create figures for manuscripts and presentations quickly without the complication of learning Adobe Illustrator. I can create a finished figure in 1-2 hours.

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about BioRender?**

BioRender is an extremely user-friendly platform that has a large bank of scientific images for creating figures and diagrams. BioRender is highly useful for preparation of figures in scientific research articles, scientific talks, slides for teaching, and general communication of science visually in an accessible manner.

**What do you dislike about BioRender?**

One improvement that would make BioRender more useful for making full and complete scientific figures would be better integration with GraphPad Prism such that graphs could be copy and pasted into the platform and keep the metadata (as is the case with CorelDraw, PowerPoint, etc.). This would permit greater ability to make complete figures in BioRender (as opposed to using BioRender to create pieces of scientific figures that are ultimately assembled/completed in some other program.

**What problems is BioRender solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BioRender benefits my scientific research by faciliating enhanced communication of my work through accessible images and diagrams. BioRender also improves my undergraduate teaching by enabling quick and efficient assembly of scientific cartoons for lecture slides and/or exam questions.
