What do you dislike about BigTime?

We find the software very intuitive to use & navigate compared to other options we tried.

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

The software is very buggy and support can be slow to address issues. Right now we have two open support tickets regarding issues that are affecting our outgoing invoices. One of them has been open for 6 months old and the other 16 months. In recent communication about the issue it became clear to us that they do not have any intentions to actually fix the issues. This is obviously frustrating because we do not like sending out invoices to our clients that have these sloppy errors prominently displayed.

2/28/25 Update: We are going through another cycle of billing and the errors in our invoices still persist. Will check in again.

4/4/25 Update: Another cycle of billing and our invoices continue going out with two different errors that have not been resolved. Will continue occasionally checking in to share our experience.

8/8/25 Update: It is been a while, but I thought the two year anniversary for one of our outstanding support tickets was a good time to check back in. We are still in the queue for attention to be paid to the aforementioned bugs in our original review.

3/4/26 - Just wanted to check-in to further update that the aforementioned issues still plague our invoices. I will reiterate that BigTime does some things well. However, use our experience and timeline here as an example of the company can be more focused on rolling out new features than they are driven to make sure that current features are working as well as they should be.

8/3/26 - Bugs are still not fixed. Please continue using this ongoing review as an example of the bugs and customer service you will have to deal with. There are some things about the software we like - but these are issues to consider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy and reliable weekly time tracking"
4.5/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

I like how simple it is to enter my billable hours each week. Finding the right client or project is quick, and I can easily review my entire week before submitting my timesheet. It's also convenient that I can access everything whether I'm working in the office or remotely. Overall, the ease of use and straightforward layout makes time entry fast and hassle-free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

Nothing specific stands out as a major issue. For the way I use the platform, it works well and makes time tracking easy to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cleaner Timesheets, Easy Time Tracking, and Insightful Analytics"
4.5/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

The remove blank rows feature is great, especially for projects that carry over week to week. It cuts down on extra

work and keeps the timesheet cleaner. Time tracking and the clock feature are also very helpful and easy to use. I

also like the pending approvals section because it makes reviewing submitted time very straightforward. The

analytics reports are another strong feature and provide useful visibility into project data and hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

At times it can be a little difficult to navigate, especially when trying to find the backend areas for assigning

employees to projects or tasks. Once you find it, it works fine, but locating those sections can take longer than

expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive financial tracking with opportunities for improved navigation"
4.5/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

BigTime provides structured access to financial and project data within a centralized system. The platform offers

a comprehensive set of features that allow tracking time, reviewing financials, and managing projects in one

place. Overall, the system’s functionality and breadth of features support operational visibility and project

oversight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

There are several areas where usability could be improved. It is not currently possible to filter by labour code

under financials to see total hours spent, which would enhance reporting flexibility. Some navigation elements

feel unintuitive, such as not being able to click “project list” to return easily. Instructions referencing tabs like

“task” or “budget” do not always match visible page options, and adding or enabling columns is not clearly

guided. Overall, improving clarity, navigation, and alignment between instructions and interface would make the

system more user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Filip Zioła of BigTime

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thorough and well-articulated review. Feedback like this - balanced, specific, and operationally focused - is incredibly valuable to us.

We’re proud that BigTime is supporting centralized financial and project visibility in a structured way. At the same time, the navigation and reporting observations you shared are thoughtful and practical. Insights around filtering by labor code, clearer tab alignment, and more intuitive navigation reflect real-world use at a deeper level - and that perspective matters.

We appreciate the clarity of your input and the strong rating alongside it. Reviews like yours help us continue refining the experience so that powerful functionality is matched by equally clear and intuitive usability.

"Web-Based, Easy-to-Use Time Tracking with Strong Reporting and Mobile Access"
4.5/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

I like that BigTime is web-based rather than desktop-based, which makes it much easier to access from anywhere. Running reports is straightforward as well, and I can quickly pull the information I need without much effort. The mobile app is another plus, especially when I need more flexibility on the go. Overall, its ease of use, accessibility, and reporting capabilities make it a practical tool for managing time and data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

There are a few areas where the overall experience could be smoother. At times, there’s a noticeable delay when work codes auto-populate while I’m typing, which interrupts the flow and slows things down. The timesheet display layout can also be hard to manage, since I often have to resize the screen just to fit everything comfortably.

It would also be helpful if rows with zero values could be suppressed in the weekly view to cut down on clutter. In addition, the Report Center in Analytics feels less intuitive when I’m building custom reports, particularly when I’m trying to filter by employee, client, or work codes. More flexible dropdown filtering options would make the reporting experience easier and more straightforward to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable and easy to use, with room for UI improvements"
5/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

Overall, BigTime is very user-friendly and reliable. It makes it easy to keep track of hours for both billing and

timesheet purposes without adding unnecessary complexity. The layout and workflow are straightforward, which

helps keep things efficient when entering time regularly. The ease of use and consistency make it a solid tool to

rely on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

One issue I ve noticed is that when entering hours, the header row with the dates doesn t move along with the

grid, which makes it harder to tell which date you re entering time for. Having the header stay aligned with the

columns would make this much clearer. It would also be helpful to have more flexibility in how jobs are sorted,

such as by project number, developer, or recently worked on, instead of only alphabetically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Excel-Like Timecards with Powerful Project Time Tracking"
4/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

The timecard UI is intuitive and the grid-style layout feels very familiar, especially if you’ve worked with Excel

before. It makes entering time straightforward and easy to understand without much of a learning curve. I also

appreciate how the system handles detailed time tracking across projects, even when there are multiple tasks

involved. Overall, the ease of use, structured layout, and strong feature set make it a reliable tool for managing

time entries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

The expensing UI can be a bit confusing at times, especially around the save versus save and submit options. It

seems like it’s designed for batching expenses, but it’s not always immediately clear. Also, when working with

projects that have many sub-tasks, the timesheet can become quite busy. It would be helpful to have an Excel-style

grouping feature where tasks could be collapsed or expanded under a parent project to keep things cleaner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean, Easy-to-Use Timesheets with Great Timers and Clear Task Totals"
5/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

I like how the timesheet is formatted as a clean chart, which makes it easy to separate hours by client and stay organized. The timers are also a great feature and help streamline timekeeping without needing to track things manually. I also appreciate being able to see cumulative totals per task, which gives a clear picture of how time is being spent. Overall, the ease of use, helpful features, and clear layout make it easy to manage time efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

One thing that would make it even better is having the option to enter time in minutes and have it automatically convert to hours or percentages. For example, entering 90 minutes instead of calculating 1.17 hours manually would make the process quicker and more convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Working with BigTime as a Consultant Client"
5/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

Keeping track of expenses and input in relations to invoicing. Being able to see when we are going over an original amount on a jobs original balance. We also like the tracking of what has been invoiced what can be closed out, earnings. Also being able to add to the job, not having to create multiple jobs for the same area or client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

Not being able to attach documents to the jobs created. We are currently looking at different integrations to use, that will help us in transferring over job information which will help in the error of job set up. We have documents as in proposals, drawings, purchase order receipts if those items were able to be saved under the job itself would help in errors for inputing the details of the job and purchase orders for the job itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quick to Use, Eye-Pleasing Visuals, and Smooth QuickBooks Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about BigTime?

It’s very quick and easy to access. The program’s visuals are eye-pleasing and don’t have that boring, traditional accounting-style look. It works well with QuickBooks. The cost is worth the time it used to take to create timesheets, workplans, budgets, etc. We received great support when firts purchasing the product. We were up and running within days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigTime?

Making new reports do take time to determine how to make them, but the online support is helpful and quick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
