The PRA module of BeyondTrust offers a very complete and dynamic remote access solution. The set-up was done together with a partner and was pretty straight forward. When we bumped in an issue we could quickly get support from TAC and it was rapidly resolved. What we really like is the subscription model, we do not need to calculate how many external users will connect to our systems, we just buy a license per device, this is really a gamechanger in the PAM solution landscape. There is a learning curve when you start with it, as there are lots of configuration parameters that can be enabled and disabled by just ticking boxes. It takes some time before you get a real hold on how certain parameters impacts the connection flow. What we are also missing is a clear reporting dashboard. I have been working as an Administrator for the past 3 years for the BeyondTrust Tools and PRA is one of the tool. We are able to provide Agent based or Jump client method of connectivity or Agentless like Remote RDP/ Remote APP through Jump Points based on the Application or Servers port restrictions. if one of the methods has any issue, we can able to use other method without affecting end users' productivity we can maintain resiliency. Some vendors have shared accounts and they must always go via the approval process. Vendors doesnt prefer the approval process. We cant say this is a drawback, but convincing the customer and vendor is the main problem here. On Emergency also the Vendor needs to get the approval and it is difficult to get approval from the Client managers during off hours. Vendors need to call them in phone and get it approved. I like BeyondTrust Privileged Remote Access because it just works and does what it says on the tin. The ability to invite external vendors is seamless, and we get an email when a vendor requests access, so we can easily approve or reject. It's a very good product works when you need to work and has never crashed on me or caused me any problems it's probably the most reliable system I've ever administered. I use it in my daily basis.
