I've used it for years, and never waiver in my confidence in it. What's great is that it will compare any two files, and match up what's the same, pointing out the differences. If the files are too different, you can help by matching up single lines. There's an inline match as well, which will show which words or characters are different there. This tool support multiple tabs, and is colorized to easily show differences. **What do you dislike about Beyond Compare?** I really have nothing bad to say about this tool! What could make it better? Um, make it free, haha. You do not need to do much tweaking to see a simple comparison. The difference highlighting is very intuitive and just simply works. Other free comparison tools make you do a bunch of tweaking to make it more useful but beyond compare just works right out of the box. **What do you dislike about Beyond Compare?** My only "gripe" is that it is not free :) Also, I tried to use a few of the masking features and was a little confused by how to use them properly. The options for setting rules and masking seemed fairly comprehensive, but I was never able to get them to work. That is more user error as I did not dig too deeply into the help documents.
