What I like best about BettyBlocks as a platform is the way it truly reduces the gap between business and IT. Betty Blocks offers an intuitive way to build a variety of applications to support your organization. Even if you have no knowledge about coding, you can build anything you can think up. The product is still under development, so it is not a completely finished product. There are two important processes in our organization that are not properly supported by applications (sign-up/waitlist and contracting). Getting an application to support these processes would be very expensive. These applications would also not completely fit our needs. With in-house developers that use Betty Blocks, we have created applications that tailor exactly to our needs, for a fraction of the costs and which we are also constantly able to quickly adjust to a changing environment and needs. Betty Blocks is an easy to use rapid application development tool. It gives you the possibility to build an application in a short period, without the use of code. After making a data model, you can build a complete application in the back office. But you can also build a complete webbased application for end users by just clicking with your mouse. The business logic is build in the webbased screens and actions. With the Pagebuilder it is very easy to build the webbased screens. By just dragging your standard components to the canvas, you are able to build user friendly screens. With the option of sandboxes, you create a complete DTAP environment. With the merge option is it possible to transport your development from D(evelopment) to T(test), to A(cceptance) and to P(roduction). The merge is just two simple clicks, and all the changes you have made in the development environment, will be transported to the next environment. You can build an application with several developers simultaneously. It is also possible to build your own custom components. I enjoy building applications with Betty Blocks. I don’t have to think about the technical things you need to build an application. My challenge is: How can I translate the functionality the user wants in a user friendly application. The new improved pagebuilder. As someone without any education or experience in developing, it's very intuitive. The option to create button/form interactions is put together very well. Once made you can re-install them on different applications, which is a huge time-saver. However, Bettyblock doesn't support reusable actions or modelling. What I'd like to see, is for example: When i've made a process within bettyblocks which makes use of an OCR API and creates invoices accordingly. Then i want to save this as a block or module.
