It allows us to remove access and modify all the proper settings when they leave. The ability to automate these tasks saves us a ton of time and labor when dealing with accounts as people enter and leave the organization. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy, thanks to the BetterCloud onboarding team, who helped get us up and running quickly and explained all of the functionality and how to use the system. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** There are some integrations with certain SaaS platforms that are limited in their functionality and don't have some functions that we would prefer to use. It allows us to set up automations and workflows between apps that we normally wouldn't be able to do. For example, a manager wants a Google Group containing users with a specific job title (eg. "SDR") and for membership to automatically update when new hires join. This wouldn't be possible without BetterCloud which monitors the Okta groups for membership changes and then adds that Google user to the group. We also use BC for our offboarding workflow which is pretty extensive and would take up to an hour per person to do manually. Update: A while back we moved away from BetterCloud in favor of Okta Workflows since we were already paying for that, even though it's not as user friendly. Recently, I set up BetterCloud again in Okta after they acquired G2 Track, and the SSO setup was super easy, so I still recommend BetterCloud even though we're not actively using it anymore! **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** Sometimes the interface is confusing to navigate but going through the BetterCloud training videos helps you familiarize yourself with how all of the sections work. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Speeding up our offboarding tasks via Workflows, updating Google Group membership based on Okta changes, adding users to Slack groups automatically, and setting managers in Slack based on Okta. These help our apps work more efficiently together and take a huge load off of our IT team members. ### 9. What we like the most is being able to onboard and de-provision users faster, create and manage groups, licenses, signatures, apps - all in one place. Setting up delegation access is simpler (for employees who are in training, for example - their supervisors can share emails for a time and that's really helpful). You can create email addresses in bulk or individually. You can run scripts on google drive and track ownership of documents, set up and monitor alerts and audit logs, control roles and priveleges (that's great for security). You can create workflows. That's just the bare minimum. Customer service is very responsive. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** I really dislike nothing. They do a great job. Easy to work with when renewals come up, you get reminders and a person reaching out to see if you use the software to it's full potential. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Onboarding, de-provisioning, license management, and document security. Benefits - simplified processes and ease of training for new managers. I complete everything much faster, without much research when it comes to creating new emails, managing groups, access and delegation of emails (for when employees are on vacation, for example). Everything is recorded as well, so I can be sure I can monitor all admin activity as well. ### 10. Creating signatures in Gmail to using BetterCloud for everything! Loads of functionality. I love how BetterCloud for Workspace replaces Google Admin panel for anything user or group related. I love using it for staff signatures. Creating and managing groups is a breeze. When I move users to a departed group account, I now have it set to automatically disable, remove from groups, and hide the user from the directory. Makes everything faster and easier for offboarding. The customer support is great!! I love that chat is available during the day, and the reps are super knowledgable. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** Having to use the sync feature manually sometimes is annoying. It syncs every night, but sometimes you need to use it in the middle of the day. When creating groups with external email addresses in the interface, you have to do each one separately. You can upload a spreadsheet to do many at once, but doing it in the interface is the way I like to use it. The spreadsheet way is powerful, you just have to make sure you have everything correct before uploading. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** BetterCloud is making Google Workspace management way more simple and allowing me to create rules to automatically do things for users or groups based on actions I've made. It would let me fully automate things, but I prefer partial automation to keep an eye on things. It allows me to create signatures for faculty and staff and apply them easily. It lets me create users and groups from an uploaded spreadsheet. It lets me download spreadsheets of everyone in a group or OU. All of these things come in handy often for me. I also love the automation tasks. You can set it to do pretty much anything you want based on triggers you choose. ### 11. This alert can be confusing as you become worried you've edited something you did not intend to. Bettercloud also allows email/calendar delegation as well as the ability to assign people to Google groups. It works extremely seamlessly with Google. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** I use app.bettercloud and g.bettercloud separately and they both provide value. If these were somehow integrated to be the same application that would be beneficial. The health and insight center is also an invaluable tool that can alert you to misconfigurations on the domain that could possibly lead to security disruptions. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** I wish there was an option to share a central contact list that could be updated and pushed to all users. Also an option to delegate access to google a user's google drive folder would be great. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** BetterCloud solves the problem of centrally managing Google Workspace accounts. Organization branding - we no longer have issues with users changing their email signatures, or making their own. Easy Delegation - we can quickly delegate access to email accounts so important accounts can be monitored or staff can backstop for each other during vacation etc. Insight center - it's difficult to monitor permissions and access across a large domain of users, the insight center really gives us peace of mind . ### 30. From user management to security controls, the tool provides an all-in-one solution for managing cloud applications efficiently. The automation features (BetterCloud Workflows) are very useful! Being able to set up customized workflows for offboarding tasks has significantly reduced the chance of human errors and streamlined our offboarding procedures. Bettercloud's audit tools provide an in-depth and granular view of our Google Drive data. The ability to monitor file access, changes, and permissions has been invaluable in ensuring data security and compliance. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** The main concern I'd like to address is the lack of support for Google Shared Drive within the Google Drive Audit Tools. As an organization that heavily relies on Google Shared Drives for collaborative projects and team file management, this limitation has proven to be a significant drawback. Additionally, compound conditionals, which combine multiple conditions using logical operators (e.g., AND, OR), are essential for creating more sophisticated automation scenarios. They allow users to create workflows that take into account multiple factors before executing specific actions. Unfortunately, the current inability to utilize compound conditionals limits the full potential of the Workflows feature and may necessitate implementing cumbersome workarounds or multiple workflows. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Recently, we experienced issues with the Google Drive transfer functionality within Bettercloud. Their responsiveness was truly remarkable. Within minutes of reporting the issue through their support portal, I received a confirmation and acknowledgment of the problem. The solution provided to rectify the problem was executed flawlessly. The code changes were applied swiftly, and the application was back to its optimal performance in no time. ### 31. Bettercloud? Onboarding is smoother, offboarding is smoother, even some items (like granting access to Office 365 and resetting passwords) are no longer touched internally, saving us a ton of time. There is also the g.bettercloud.com console, which is phenomenal. The interface provides you with a lot of the same actions as the workflows, but I can make edits more on-demand and bulk edit/actions a lot quicker. There are even some actions (e.g. delegating inboxes) which we are not capable of doing in the google admin console, but BetterCloud can do for us. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** I am a strong believer in dark mode, and will always decry its lack of availability. I haven't been able to visit the flight school yet, but I wish there were trainings around some integrations available (e.g. the who/what/when/where/how you need to create a zendesk ticket --> have bettercloud see this ticket --> perform actions in jamf pro, or another integration).' It's not a dislike but a "wish I could." I love the g.bettercloud.com console (As mentioned in my likes section). I'd love to see a similar dashboard made for other integrations. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** onboarding/offboarding - automating a lot of the work that used to be done manually, or used to be impossible in general (delegating inboxes in google workspace is a nightmare) DLP - I'm not on the security side, but I know we've used it to prevent items being shared that shouldn't, or restrict permissions (e.g. an external company was given edit access when it should have been view only). ### 32. Additionally, the integrations offered by BetterCloud are not uniform in terms of their level of sophistication, with some being highly advanced and beneficial while others are limited. Improving their integration capabilities by adding support for additional systems could be an improvement in the product. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** BetterCloud is solving our need for automating the process between our IdP (Identity Provider) and Google Workspaces. This automation helps us manage identity lifecycle events and ensures that access controls are in place through group membership. Additionally, the automation helps us maintain a clean OU (Organizational Unit) structure within the directory. These features have greatly benefitted us by streamlining the identity management process and reducing the risk of manual errors. ### 33. Currently, we are not using it for any other SAAS products but like the fact that we could. Deprovisioning workflow is also immensely beneficial. **What do you dislike about BetterCloud?** As a smaller company and only using it for Google Workspace, it is a higher cost than I would prefer. **What problems is BetterCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Provisioning and de-provisioning of users is the most significant benefit for our use. I have found that the audit tracking of who made changes is also beneficial. We also use BetterCloud for all google group management. A unique use of Google groups and how BC makes it easier: Windows PCs require creating an MS email account. We can not set up a new PC if we do not know the user's login, and since we do not use MS cloud or 360, we did not see the benefit. We create a Google group using the SN of the PC and use the group email as the email address for that PC MS account. BetterCloud makes this easy because we can bulk-create these google group/ email addresses with a spreadsheet. ### 36.
