## BenefitPoint Reviews
  ### 1. Useful Client Snapshots, but Outdated Look and Difficult Navigation

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

Having all client information in one file or a single access location is helpful. In addition, being able to see a brief snapshot of the client and the related account details right on the front is valuable.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

It feels a bit outdated in terms of look and overall feel. Navigation can be challenging when trying to find information or update details, and the general navigation across the system and platform can be difficult at times.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BenefitPoint is useful for solving the dilemma of sharing large amounts of very detailed, client-specific data with other internal departments for plan design review, rate review, and similar needs. It provides one succinct system for managing that data, along with the ability to tag and notify others across various categories and/or divisions through the system. It also helps organize those contacts and lets me monitor activity tied to each contact and related request.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for letting us know what you think about BenefitPoint. We understand the importance of a modern interface and will take your input into consideration for future updates. Hearing from customers like you helps us grow and evolve.

  ### 2. Benefit Point Needs Better File Organization, Search, and ability to manipulate dashboard.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

It is helpful in having a quick overview of group policy information as well as group contacts.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

There are unfortunately a lot of things I don't like about Benefit Point. It seems there are frequently communication error between BP and AMS 360. The file system is almost non-existent. Well it is non-existent actually. It is just a big bucket of files that you have to try to track down in hopes it fit into one of the limited categories allowed. I keep almost all my files outside of BP so they are easier to find. The search options are limited. Why would I not be able to search by a carrier name? So many times I have needed to look and see what other companies use a particular carrier and not been able to look it up. Also, we need to be able to manipulate the fields on the dashboard to fit our team structure. The notes are not intuitive. you have to go digging for them and so no one keeps them updated. There needs to be a place to keep multiple bits of information such as multiple divisions within a group and document things like that divisions pay frequency, or if the work under a different FEIN, or are located in another state, etc. On the benefit plans, I do appreciate the SBC reader, but it needs to be better about scrubbing the information from the SBC or Summary. Much of the time it just adds paragraphs of information to a cell rather than the specifics. I frequently think I wish we still had the Brokerage Builder platform we used years ago.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are a place to store some information. And I know our corporate office uses features of it to estimate revenue pipelines. It is better than not having anything.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with file organization, search options, and dashboard customization. Our team is always working on enhancing our software based on user input.

  ### 3. Great Client Tracking and Responsive Support, but Too Many Clicks and an Outdated Feel

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

Being able to track and store multiple items for a client in their profile. The support team is also open to feedback and does listen to the feedback received.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

There are many buttons to click to get one task done which causes a delay. The outlook connector can be finnicky. The system also looks a bit outdated.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing outreach from clients and help track their ongoing renewal processes. Also helps us keep track of expected revenue and commissions. We are working to make it a one stop shop for our team to use to reference all the information we have for our client on file.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your review of BenefitPoint. We appreciate the need for a modern interface and will take your input into consideration for future updates. Our team is always working on enhancing our software based on user feedback.

  ### 4. Efficient Data Management with Room for Enhanced Flexibility

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

I like the ease of finding my clients and having a one-stop shop. It houses all the data for all our clients, making it easy to access and get paid from the carriers. BenefitPoint is essential to our daily work! It's also very easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

I wish I could easily duplicate all features of another plan, like contributions and benefit details, or change a plan from HMO to PPO without having to delete and restart. The manual entry for every tab is really tiring. I mostly wish I could enter a plan or benefit detail and have it applied across all relevant areas, like setting a 20% coinsurance for all benefits, instead of doing it one by one.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find BenefitPoint houses all client data, making it easy to access. However, I wish for easier plan duplication and automation to reduce manual data entry.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We understand your frustration with the manual entry for plan details. We will take your feedback into consideration for future updates. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything in the future.

  ### 5. Intuitive Navigation, But Vendor Engagement and Follow-Through Require Significant Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

Designed with benefits in mind, so users don’t have to guess where to put things. BP feels intuitive and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

It takes forever to get the vendor engaged when serious issues need to be fixed. They also design features without getting input from everyone in the user group. Too often, they start a design in one release and then sometimes never fully finish it.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am the system admin for BenefitPoint. User processes are designed for benefits, so it removes some of the guess work.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with BenefitPoint. We value your opinion and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Input from customers like you helps drive our software improvements.

  ### 6. Helpful Dashboard, But Plan Details Could Be More In-Depth

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

It has a good dashboard page that shows most of the relevant info.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

The dashboard page doesn't show details of plans as in depth as I would prefer.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps all pls and plan info organized in one spot.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for letting us know what you think about BenefitPoint. We appreciate your input and will take it into consideration for future updates. Hearing from customers like you helps us grow and evolve!

  ### 7. Efficient for Tracking Commissions, But Needs Improved Navigation

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristopher M. | Board Member - Programming and Events, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

I find BenefitPoint easy to track commissions and find plans, which is particularly helpful for month-end usage. The initial setup of BenefitPoint was easy enough.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

Some features are buried within the program and hard to find.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BenefitPoint helps me track life insurance and wealth clients for commissions and manage cases effectively. It's easy to track commissions and find plans, especially useful for month-end usage.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for leaving a comment, Kristopher. Your input is essential in shaping BenefitPoint. We value your opinion and strive to improve based on your suggestions.

  ### 8. Easy to Use, But Too Many Mundane Tasks. Correct

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

Easy to use. Helps organize my life with the many tools

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

Lots of mundane tasks that I need to do in it

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps organize employee benefits

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for letting us know what you think about BenefitPoint. We value your opinion and strive to improve based on your suggestions.

  ### 9. Required to use software but not user friendly

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

I am part of a P&C agency using AMS360. BenefitPoint connects with that so I must use it to store information, and process commissions.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

The system is capable of doing much but is so cumbersome to use, it is only used to warehouse info. I use another software program that can provide the call recording and automations I need to service such a large book of business. Bonus that that software is only $150 per month for my entire agency to use. I keep BenefitPoint just so the P&C side has record of policies and commissions.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to Benefit Point we had software designed for P&C agencies. It was useless for health and life which is my focus. While BenefitPoint has ways to record information that is important to us, it is cumbersome to use. It is very difficult to create reports. There is no way to create automations, send email blasts, record prescriptions, doctors and other information in a searchable format.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We understand the importance of user-friendly software and take your feedback seriously to make continuous improvements to our products and services. Should you need any assistance in using BenefitPoint, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team at 1.800.444.4813.

  ### 10. Overall a good user experience, but some aspects feel outdated

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

I like that I can see which commission has been posted each month, along with the exact day it was posted.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

The visuals and overall user experience feel a bit outdated.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I audit our teams commission through BP and I like the detail I am able to pull from original commission postings.

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for leaving a comment. Your input is essential in shaping BenefitPoint. We understand the importance of a modern user experience and will take your feedback into consideration for future updates.

  ### 11. Comprehensive but Clunky

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** April H. | Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2025

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

BenefitPoint does a good job of storing detailed benefit plan information and plan history in one place. I also find value in the ability to customize fields and organize data. The platform provides a central location to reference plan information, on the group benefits side.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

The platform is not as user-friendly or efficient as it could be. It can be difficult to navigate, especially for new users or for those who don't use it daily. It doesn't integrate well with other Vertafore products we use, which creates more manual work and duplication or efforts across systems. Managing client and carrier data can feel clunky, and some workflows, like updating benefits or handling commissions.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BenefitPoint solves the problem of scattering benefits data across multiple systems and spreadsheets by consolidating essentials details, like, plan information and renewal records into one central hub. This centralization helps ensure consistency and makes it a little easier to track and reference information when needed. While it doesn't perfectly integrate with our other system, it still simplifies the process by reducing data loss and increasing overall visibility, even if some manual work remains.

**Official Response from Lisa Landes:**

> Hello April, we value your opinion and strive to improve based on your suggestions. Thank you for your review of BenefitPoint!

  ### 12. We are still in the process of implementing this software

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2025

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

Being able to track commissions in software designed for that purpose will be good.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

Compared to how we are currently receiving commissions, this will take more time, but the tracking should be much better.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to track commissions.

**Official Response from Lisa Landes:**

> Thank you for letting us know what you think about BenefitPoint!

  ### 13. Benefit Point is pretty good at what it does.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle L. | Client Service Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2025

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

Houses all the needed information. Allows documents to be uploaded and archived.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

Wish it had a more friendly UI. Not easy to navigate.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Electronic file holder. Allows team to access information quickly.

**Official Response from Lisa Landes:**

> Our team is always working on enhancing our software based on user feedback. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review!

  ### 14. Works well

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2025

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

I like the colors and organization/layout of the main page.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

Searching things sometimes can take a bit if it's not specific enough.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing clients

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with BenefitPoint. We understand the importance of efficient search functionality and are continuously working to improve it. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and helps us grow and evolve!

  ### 15. Benefit Point Review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2025

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

I use BenefitPoint for accounting so it is helpful for me to use the reporting tools to see all I need at a glance.

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

The E statement functionality does need improvement.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefit Point helps with my reporting

**Official Response from Lisa Landes:**

  ### 17. Static, antiquated

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2019

**What do you like best about BenefitPoint?**

Information on benefits are all on a one page dashboard

**What do you dislike about BenefitPoint?**

It’s extremely antiquated in how nothing is customizable, not user friendly, and searching for accounts is hard if you don’t have exact spelling

**Recommendations to others considering BenefitPoint:**

BenefitPoint is great for looking at clients and their benefits in a couple clicks, but using and updating the information takes months of training.

**What problems is BenefitPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding information on benefits in a couple clicks, having all the rules and plans in one place

**Official Response from Nate McKissick:**

> We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. At Vertafore, we aim to provide the best possible customer experience so we are sorry to hear that you may have experienced otherwise. We take your feedback seriously and use it to make continuous improvements to our products and services, and will pass your input along to our team.
