Bench solved my problem of needing accounting and bookkeeping services for my small company. They also completely eliminated the piles and piles of hardcopy paperwork that used to be mailed to me monthly by my previous accounting firm. Bench keeps information ordered and easy to understand in their monthly reports, sent to me via email. Whenever there is an issue or something I don't understand, Bench is quick to respond and fix the problem. I chose to use Bench because I was tired of being disorganized, and getting documents in order for taxes took me forever. I worked with the team to work on my books monthly to make tax time easy. A bonus was actually seeing my income and expenses in real time vs looking at it once every 12 months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The team is always quick to answer my questions and nudge me when I need to submit paperwork so they can balance my books on time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For me, the monthly price is reasonable, however my biggest obstacle is the huge lump sum needed to do previous months so that my profit and loss statement is accurate. (I began with Bench in June.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We were exploring moving from a QB based local accountant approach to something simpler and more automated and Bench was more than happy to help us with that transition. The staff is cool, knowledgeable and not pushy. The contracts are flexible and your account reps will make you feel comfortable. The software is clean and headache free. If you're used to all the tools and control of QB this will take some getting used to but well worth exploring. If I could run checks and payroll through Bench I could probably leave my other software all together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Bench takes care of my monthly bookkeeping. They will also be retroactively redoing my bookkeeping from the past 10 years. I may also plan to use them for tax preparation, although the cost is expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bench by Employer.com?

I like that I do not have to think about my business' bookkeeping and that my bookkeeping is being done right. The person I worked with prior to switching to Bench never allowed any of his clients to get a clear look at their books. It turns out he was embezzling everyone's money. With Bench, I can see what my books look like and where my money is going. I get full transparency into my books. if I have any questions I can text my bookkeeper and I can also set up monthly check-in meetings. I can be involved with my bookkeeping without it being a burden.

Your bookkeeper is very easy to contact, and they are more than happy to answer your questions. Bench isn't a faceless company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bench by Employer.com?

I don't like that Bench's pricing isn't adaptive. My company's expenses/revenue fluctuates a lot every month. Bench doesn't automatically change my pricing plan based on the monthly expenses, which is bizarre because they have that information available. I was stuck paying for a higher plan for months until I complained. Thankfully after I complained they happily corrected the problem and gave me discounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a small business owner, I took a stab at doing this by myself after my last bookkeeper stole my money. Big mistake. It takes much longer than you are expecting, and you are going to do it wrong. Trust me, focus on running your business and let Bench focus on keeping your books up to date. I was a year behind on my books before I decided it was time to leave it up to the pros.
