Describe the project or task the provider helped with:
Bell Techlogix was our campus' primary information technology solutions provider for many years and operated both an online ordering service for student, faculty, and staff use as well as a specialized portal for departmental ordering. Bell also operated our on-campus technology retail store for any member of the university community to be able to shop at. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you like best?
The people at Bell were some of the most knowledgable folks I have worked with in my more than 20 years of purchasing technology products for use in the higher education space. Their teams were excellent at helping to source unusual items, such as large format printers for marketing's use (for posters and brochures) and large scale purchases, such as entire department desktop refreshes. What do you dislike?
The selection of products that are offered through the online catalog is sometimes limited, such as Apple products, but I believe this is probably more of a function of how our university set up the punch-out than what Bell Techlogix does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recommendations to others considering the provider:
Know what you are looking for when considering a third-party procurement servicing partner. For us, that meant knowing we needed two portals, one for student purchases and one for institutional purchases. We also needed someone who could help us place limits on certain types of purchases so that items that we site-licensed or didn't want individuals to buy couldn't. What problems are you solving with the provider? What benefits have you realized?
Bell Techlogix provides a single procurement point for technology software and hardware solutions and an easy to use online catalog that allowed for decentralized, but controlled, purchasing by indviudals across the institution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
