## About Beeceptor
Beeceptor is an AI-powered API and Service virtualization platform that helps you eliminate dependencies, accelerate testing, and deliver software faster. Instead of waiting for backend services, third-party APIs, partner systems, or test environments, your teams can instantly create realistic virtual services and continue independently. Designed for QA engineers, SDETs, developers, architects, platform teams, solution engineers, and enterprise organizations, Beeceptor combines AI-assisted service creation, real-time traffic inspection, and enterprise-grade governance into a single platform that is easy to adopt and delivers value within minutes. You can connect it to agentic frameworks like Claude, GPT, Copilot, etc. ## Build virtual services in a few seconds. Traditional service virtualization tools often require specialized skills, lengthy setup cycles, and dedicated teams. Beeceptor takes a different approach. You can generate virtual services from OpenAPI specifications, Swagger files, GraphQL schemas, SOAP/WSDL definitions, Postman collections, sample requests and responses, or recorded API traffic in under 60 seconds. The AI automatically generates endpoints, mock responses, realistic test data, request validation rules, and service behaviors, dramatically reducing setup effort. ## Eliminate dependencies and enable shift-left testing Most often software delivery delays are caused by unavailable services, unstable test environments, vendor sandboxes, API rate limits, or dependencies on other teams. These small issues build up, and cause the delivery date to be pushed. Beeceptor allows teams to virtualize external dependencies, build isolated test environments, so your team work independently. ## Common use cases include: \* API and contract-first development \* Shift-left testing and quality engineering \* Frontend and mobile development before backend completion \* Integration and end-to-end testing \* Test suite integration, CI/CD automation, \* Partner and vendor sandbox environments \* Legacy system simulation \* Microservices testing \* Performance, chaos and resilience testing \* Developer onboarding and training environments ## AI-powered service virtualization Beeceptor uses AI natively to accelerate the creation and maintenance of mock/virtual services. Here are the top features \* Generate mock APIs from specifications and schemas. Upload Swagger, WSDL, GraphQL, gRPC, Postman, specs. \* Create realistic test data automatically from the context, field names, description, etc \* Use AI to fix human errors, in the context. \* Build OpenAPI spec from the recorded production traffic. \* Detect contract drifts in the implementation and get notified about it. ## Comprehensive protocol support Beeceptor supports modern API ecosystems and enterprise integration patterns, including: \* REST APIs \* OpenAPI and Swagger \* GraphQL \* SOAP and WSDL services \* Webhooks \* Web-socket \* Server-Sent Events (SSE) \* CRUD APIs - backed with a database. \* Mutual TLS (mTLS) \* HTTP-based enterprise integrations ## Dynamic and stateful service simulation Beyond simple static mocks, Beeceptor supports advanced service virtualization scenarios including the following. \* Stateful workflows \* Multi-step transactions \* Session-aware interactions \* Conditional responses \* Dynamic payload generation \* Request correlation \* Delays and latency conditions \* Network failures and error scenarios \* Rate limiting and throttling behavior \* Edge-case and negative-path testing ## Real-time visibility and traffic recording Beeceptor provides real-time visibility into API traffic as requests occur. This is best in the class, request response interception, so you can inspect requests, validate payloads, debug integrations, and identify issues without requiring access to upstream systems. ## Reduce infrastructure and API costs Their engineering rely on expensive third-party APIs, vendor sandboxes, or shared environments that incur usage costs and operational overhead. A lot of Beeceptor customers save cost. Beeceptor helps reduce: \* Third-party API consumption costs \* Usage-based API charges \* Vendor sandbox limitations \* Environment maintenance effort \* Infrastructure provisioning requirements \* Delays caused by shared testing resources ## Enterprise-ready by design Beeceptor is built for enterprise adoption and large-scale engineering organizations. Enterprise capabilities include: \* Single Sign-On (SSO) \* SAML integration \* Role-based access control \* Audit logs \* Governance and approval workflows \* IP allowlists and access controls \* Sensitive data masking in HTTP headers and payload. \* Private cloud deployment, On-premises deployment \* Dedicated infrastructure options \* Unlimited-scale enterprise usage ## Faster time-to-value The biggest advantage of Beeceptor is speed. You move from an API specification, sample payload, or recorded traffic to a fully functional virtual service in minutes. No specialized virtualization expertise is required. No infrastructure needs to be provisioned. No dependency teams need to be involved. The result is faster releases, better test coverage, reduced integration risk, lower operational costs, and a more dependency-free engineering culture.

Fastest Mock REST API I have ever done. After getting sick of installing and configuring local tools or struggling with cloud servers to get some dummy APIs up so I can see what my app sends and manipulate the response... Beeceptor made that 2min task!

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

Not 100% sure about how private the data I'm sending is, but on the other hand... it's random test data.

Not sure if a paid version will give me better request retention, but it's not a big deal yet.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was tasked with some rapid prototyping and proof of concepts for a client. Need something to use fast and manipulate in a simple way? Beeceptor will do it for you. Even worked without signing up for an account.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaurav A. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

The tool helped me to figure out an issue with my endpoint redirection.

I could not find any good alternatives to this tool either.

I really appreciated them for not automatically signing me up for a monthly subscription. I needed the premium features for a single project and the subscription period automatically expired after the month. I wish more services did the same.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

Nothing in particular. Endpoint proxy can have more tools to modify the data they received before forwarding the request. But I am sure they will be adding them soon.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool helped me to figure out an issue with my endpoint redirection.

I could not find any good alternatives to this tool either.

  ### 10. Easy to use API mocks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandrasekar K. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

I was figuring out the best tool in the market to create the mocks for my application. I came across Beceeptor and it really does a great job.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

There is no support currently for path params with any matching choices in between (i.e http://api.point.com/1/data instead it should support http://api.point.com/*/data)

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It really helps us to build the mock APIs quicker as compared to any other tool. The custom domain feature is an another killing feature where it comes with lot of benefits like adding fellow teammates to maintain the project.

  ### 11. Love Beeceptor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Duncan W. | SVP of Engineering

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

I've been using Beeceptor for years at a previous company

The easy-to-use interface and setup and the incredible pricing make it a no brainer for any dev team.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

Sometimes some additional headers are added to the request that weren't in the original. This somewhat violates the transparency of the proxy.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes the ability to test endpoints a breeze and isolate servers.

  ### 12. Easy to setup mock APIs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

Clean UX, no training required to use the tool. API latency is under 10ms.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

UI elements are a bit outdated, look outdated. But upon using it for a month, you will find that it has continuous feature updates.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to mock APIs until our backend team comes up with real ones. It unblocks frontend development, and ease the testing process.

  ### 13. Fast and easy testing to endpoints

I have been using this tool for a couple of years now. It's very handy to mock developing and external APIs really quick. The mocking rules functionality comes really handy for adding different paths and sending different responses.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

None really but maybe the limit for requests per day should increase per day for developers 😊

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped in a couple of hackathon events to quickly mock data and focus on the actual idea execution.

  ### 16. Productive and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Murthy K. | Tech Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

Very easy to configure a consume the mocked APIs. Easy to share with dependent teams.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

Nothing as of now. but I will update here If I get one.

**Recommendations to others considering Beeceptor:**

Saves a lot of time in meetings when a person shares a live mocked API.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While doing parallel development instead of giving JSON contracts (API) as documents it's helpful to share beeceptor mocked live APIs. which speaks a lot.
And I have experienced it as well.

  ### 17. Beeceptor review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

Beeceptor is a really nice software becasue you can mock your server response in 15seconds, it's a very usefull when you are creating prototypes and you can't work with the 3rd party yet.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

Well the only thing I can think of is the small requests limit for the free account, apart from that maybe autoformatting of json payload would be a wonderfull enhancement, but it's not a must have feature to benefit fully from beeceptor.

**Recommendations to others considering Beeceptor:**

Just use it, it's very simple and powerfull

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prototyping is really easy as you don't have to setup your own server to provide fully working flow with 3rd party mocks done in beeceptor. I think the biggest advantage that beeceptor provides is the time required to mock request/response

  ### 18. Reviewing Beeceptor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad Jamshaid I. | Mid Level Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

I have been using Beeceptor for quite a moment now for creating dummy APIs to use during my work at my workplace and it helps a lot when I am not having real data or do not have proper access to the data.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

The limit it has on free resources of 50 requests only per mock API. I don't like too many short limits as it makes me create mock APIs again and again. There should be at least 100 requests for free in a single mock api

**Recommendations to others considering Beeceptor:**

i would highly recommend others to use this website

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever I am looking forward to create a project for which I am not having any sample or dummy data, I simply come to beeceptor and generate my own API with stated dataset and that helps me a lot

  ### 19. One stop solution for API endpoint mocking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harsh K. | SDE2, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

The simplicity of use and it does exactly what it says

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

I don't see any downside....it gets the work done very well and does everything that's needed

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

API testing by mocking the endpoints

  ### 20. Good simple tool for mocking api endpoints / remote logging

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim S. | Web Developer, Graphic Designer, Instructional Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

I found Beeceptor a few years back after RequestBin was no longer accessible and found it to offer much better functionality out of the box. The ability to match an incoming event by a path or expression to respond with a data mock is advantageous. It's also a great as a remote logger for debugging code you might not have locally or have the ability to debug in production. The tunneling feature looks useful, though I haven't had a reason to use it yet.

Forwarding requests works well - data comes in, it is logged, you forward it on to.
- Responses based on mocking rules is the best feature; has faker.js style syntax for generating useful response data
- The interface is simple

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

Even with paid plans, going back and looking at historical data isn't possible on anything but the top plan. Even holding the data for 24 hours would be great.

- To see data you must have the browser open
- Data disappears when you refresh (even on basic paid plan)
- plans are per-endpoint, rather than one cost covers X private endpoints

**Recommendations to others considering Beeceptor:**

Look at the overheads (and therefore cost) in installing alternate products and then consider the ease of use of Beeceptor. It might be all you need.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Beeceptor is my goto solution for when I have to quietly observe something in server-side production code, where another logging proxy or remote debugger like Sentry might require a complex installation or extra libraries. Having Beeceptor as a man-in-the-middle between your app and its api is a fantastic tool for working with semi-live data where logging or throwing bogus responses into the datastream is condition you want to test.

  ### 21. Powerful tool yet easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

The ability quickly prototype API endpoints and pass it on to front end team to develop UI while backend builds the scaled system saves a ton of time and resources. One of the best features is the ability to load test the endpoints without putting stress on the downstream services.
The documentation is very helpful too and guides you step by step to create a new Mock endpoint and more.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

No downsides noticed here with about two months of usage.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a startup we are always trying to build fast prototypes so we can fail fast and improve on ideas. With beeceptor we don't have to build an end to end system to showcase a design and can improve upon the design before spending time to build the scaled system

  ### 22. Application development made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

(1) Easy to use. just a drop-in replacement for our existing API calls.
(2) Ability to proxy, so i don't need to replace the endpoint in code when the APIs are ready
(3) Realtime intercepting of the requests.
(4) We have integrated Beeceptor APIs with our integration suits to cover previously untouched cases.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

(1) Missing the ability to import OpenAPI spec.
(2) The search of request history can be improved further.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

(1) UI Devs are not blocked when the APIs are not ready.
(2) Integration tests to cover previously unreached cases.

  ### 23. Beeceptor, the fastest and better way to develop APIs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

Discovered Beeceptor when I was looking for a solution to create mocked API endpoints. It's the best tool I've ever used and I can't imagine working without it. Features like real-time receptors and drop-in replacements for our APIs have helped us a lot. Their support is really quick to answer and has great knowledge about their product.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

Nothing major. Request history search can be improved further

**Recommendations to others considering Beeceptor:**

Testing and debugging API endpoints consume a lot of resources and time. Stop wasting precious resources and use Beeceptor. Thank me later :)

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems: Most of the time we see new APIs means we cannot keep up with this pace. Then, we end up building slow dummy systems and put a ton of pressure on the backend team to build real systems. To add more pain they are sometimes delayed so the front end should wait for backend results. It is really challenging to start using new APIs if the backend is still in the development stage.

Benefits: I was so surprised with the number of features that ease my job to create mock endpoints and load test them without putting stress on downstream services.

  ### 24. Very easy an simple to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

Easy to use, easy to configure requests for api mock server

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

Only 50 free requests per day. Will be better If we have 200

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mock the respose for my apis.

  ### 25. Easiest tool for mocking API

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amair K. | Senior Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

The tool is straightforward to use. As a developer, this comes very handily when you get so much control over the generated APIs easily.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

The free account usage should be shown easily while creating the APIS

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier to mock APIs. We can add multiple endpoints for a domain.

  ### 26. Beeceptor is making development and testing much faster.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Beeceptor?**

The Beeceptor team focuses on providing the best solution to develop a product by using a mocking endpoint. It has state-of-the-art features, like HTTPS, proxy, logs check, which enable a faster and complete solution. This team is really awsome, fast paced development, easy to adopt and provide best service if needed.

**What do you dislike about Beeceptor?**

I have not faced any issue with Beeceptor that makes me dislike it.

**Recommendations to others considering Beeceptor:**

It is one of best solution in this field and make life easier for ready to market.

**What problems is Beeceptor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Beeceptor to mock data endpoint, which has limitations and costly to use for development. Beeceptor is easy to use and few clicks away to be ready for action. This rule setting based endpoint make life easier to validate all corner cases that could not be possible with real end point.
