Before using Basis, we were updating our Google Sheet manually every other day to understand the basic financials of my company. Basis automates so much of that manual FP&A steps that I can spend more time actually strategizing. **What do you dislike about Basis?** The product is early so there were some bugs in connecting different data points and integrations. But since the first time we got onboarded (last August), there has been a ton of updates and Basis team has been very helpful in the onboarding process. **What problems is Basis solving and how is that benefiting you?** It’s been great getting out of Excel. We stopped saving multiple versions of the same Excel files and that’s made collaboration a lot easier. Also it's so much easier to share the Basis dashboard with investors and internal teams than circulating excel sheets. ### 2. Next level FP&A! We were blown away by how quickly we could generate basic financial statement forecasts, which gave us invaluable insights into our operations in just one day! In the following two weeks, we worked closely with the Basis team to develop and refine our operating models. I use Basis every day! **What do you dislike about Basis?** Everything is great so far. I haven't encountered any real problems. While there is a learning curve like any other tool, I was able to pick it up quickly during the implementation process. Moreover, the Basis team has been incredibly responsive on the customer service side, offering prompt and knowledgeable support whenever needed. **What problems is Basis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basis rolling forecasts have entirely transformed our financial planning process. With its seamless data flow and customized accessibility controls, each department can easily access forecasts, making it a valuable and effortless experience. During planning meetings, we use Basis to test different scenarios, adjusting numbers and watching changes flow through planning models. When the macroeconomic environment changed in 2022, we had to make tough decisions that required quick action. I proposed cost-cutting measures to our leadership team, and within half an hour, they were convinced of the path to profitability after visualizing it using Basis. Basis enables quick and informed decision-making, allowing us to stay ahead of the curve. ### 3. It’s very easy to drill down into models, formulas, values to see where all of the underlying data is coming from. This makes everything easier to understand and lets you work faster. **What do you dislike about Basis?** Some of the quarterly and annual breakdowns acted a little quirky but they added a way to let you toggle whether you want a metric to report the latest value or to sum the values across the period. **What problems is Basis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basis makes it much easier to work on forecasts together. I can invite people in and set access permissions to maintain confidentiality. It’s much better than sending Excel files around and trying to consolidate it all. ### 4. The user permissions are so granular that I can give everyone the exact access they need to collaborate on their specific piece. That ability makes it easy to set up and complete an entire model with much less effort than other solutions. **What do you dislike about Basis?** I can't think of any dislikes at this point. Basis continually makes product updates that enhance areas I hadn't even considered yet! **What problems is Basis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basis is the only platform that allows for collaboration to be effortless. The ability to invite as many users and limit access solves the problem of having multiple files sent back and forth that need to be compiled manually. ### 5. The customer service team was fantastic in helping me get started with this tool, from onboarding to creating my first dashboards. **What do you dislike about Basis?** I'm happy to report that I haven't come across any issues with this system. Although there is a bit of a learning curve, I found it easy to pick up during the implementation process. The Basis team has been incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the whole process. **What problems is Basis solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me easily pivot on multiple classes to analyze P&L by department, eliminating the need for multiple versions of Excel files and making collaboration easier. The tool also automatically updates actuals, allowing me to identify outliers quickly. The live data flows, and visualizations save time on model maintenance and make it easier to present information. This tool has helped me forecast essential metrics such as revenue, COGS, gross margins, and cash flow, allowing me to plan better by seeing how changes in customer base affect capacity and costs. ### 6. This tool has allowed us to easily segment our company data to gain valuable reporting and forecasting metrics at the departmental level. **What do you dislike about Basis?** The Gusto API does not allow an accountant user to integrate the softwares, and the connection often 'breaks'. **What problems is Basis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basis has allowed our company to easily integrate our tech stack, accurately pull in our financial data, and create a 'roll forward' forecast. There is also a huge advantage of being able to segment financial workbooks, and assign/grant permission to the appropriate individuals. ### 7.
