  ### 4. Bandwidth is the BEST!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas H. | Member, Kerio Partner Advisory Council, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Customer support, knowledge from their engineers, the ease of provisioning new locations and numbers is paramount.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

Nada! Our experience with Bandwidth has been nothing less than amazing.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to offer VoIP to my customers is a huge value add for my business.

  ### 5. Started off strong, but it's clear SMB and Local providers are not BW main focus

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Reliable connection 99% of the time. Quality products and TN selection

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

Their customer service makes me want to rip out my hair.
Their pricing is astronomically high.
They don't care about you unless your spend is over $100K/mo
They are unreliable and don't follow through.
We consider them the "Fat Cats" (eg like Micro$oft where they have the market cornered and don't need to do anything to keep your business) of the industry.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They provide trunks and TNs for service.

**Official Response from Matt Ruehlen:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience with our customer service. We believe all of our customers, regardless of size or spend, deserve a partner that is responsive and follows through. If that is not happening, I’d certainly appreciate the chance to bring it to light.

I want to understand the specifics of your experience better so I can address them internally - especially which parts of our support has frustrated you, and where follow-through has lapsed. If you’d be willing to, please send me an email directly at mruehlen@bandwidth.com so I can personally look into this.

Thank you for trusting us with your business,
Matt Ruehlen
Sr. Director, Voice of the Customer

  ### 6. Support

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Ease of use of its dashboard for phone number provisioning.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

The support turn around time when it comes to 10DLC Compliance, Appeal and TFN Verification.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem is the slow turn around time of support tickets about 10DLC Compliance and TFN Verification. We are losing customers because of this.

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

> Thank you for sharing about your experience with Bandwidth. We appreciate the kind words about our dashboard's ease of use and your feedback about the support turnaround time. We take your concerns seriously and are committed to improve our processes to better support you. Please reach out to Matt Ruehlen at mruehlen@bandwidth.com so we can work together to resolve these issues.

  ### 7. Bandwidth is a solid choice

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter E. | Chief Product Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Bandwidth is a true partner. For example, they are proactive about managing our services have notified us when we were approaching capacity and needed to add more. They have also collaborated with us when designing new redundancy features. Additionally, their portal is easy to use, making the services easy to administer.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

In the last couple years our account managers have changed personnel more often than I would like (and not necessarily because people left the company -- they hadn't). We used to have a better cadence where we would discuss our account and to review their product roadmap. That has lacked consistency in recent times.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bandwidth is a primary VoIP carrier for us. We also use their SMS product. We are considering others as well.

  ### 8. Great Company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2025

porting issues, 911 issues,

  ### 9. Excellent support! Great product and support tools.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

Can't think of any negatives about working with Bandwidth

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SMS, 911 for Cloud Telecom companies

  ### 10. Password management is a pain. Lack of tools to connect campaigns to the right number.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Cost. Some parts of the app are pretty straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

The fact that some common sense features need to be turned on by contract, that the tools don't clearly connect across the suite - if I have a campaign to a phone number, what's the campaign brand name so that I can easily connect (for example)?

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Messaging.

**Official Response from Matt Ruehlen:**

> Hello,

Thank you for your feedback on the Bandwidth App. I'm sorry to hear about the frustration these issues are causing. Your points about password management, connecting campaign data, and feature accessibility are all items I'd like to learn more about. I think you are getting at an easier way to search by the brand of a campaign (rather than only the phone number itself), but if you'd be willing, I'd appreciate you sharing more about the specific workflows and to confirm I'm understanding you correctly.

Please send me an email directly at mruehlen@bandwidth.com and I'll personally respond so that I can be certain we're championing this feedback with our product managers.

Thank you for trusting us with your business,

Matt Ruehlen
Sr. Director, Voice of the Customer

  ### 23. Amazing Portal, pricing needs work

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

The Portal is one of the (If not THE) best in class fo any carrier I have worked with. The Account team support is also amazing and very responsive along with the response time on support tickets.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

Pricing seems to be an ongoing discussion point and could use some real help, especially when talking about large TN/DID footprints. Multi $ porting fee and above average per minute rates are way above many wider market carriers and large turnoffs for a carrier with as much supply as BW.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a carrier to help with wider coverage of North Americas, BW helps everday to provide good VoIP services as well as end to end connectivity.

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

The easy to use portal makes porting a breeze

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

Lack of ability to get a live person on the phone when needed

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Call Routing seems to work better than some of our other carriers.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

The portal does not let you search for a Brand. It also times out when you have a lot of Brand pages you have to step through to find the one you are looking for, then you have to wait a couple minutes for it to start populating again.
You can't search numbers for port-outs.
Would be nice to have a link to get to search better for locations under numbers.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have no idea what they are solving.

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

> Thank you for taking time to let us know about your experience. Serving our customers well is a top priority, and we’re reviewing your concerns to ensure we provide the exceptional service we’re known for.

Messaging and telephone numbers all managed via an api, making our capacity elastic.

Helps us avoid charges for services we do not need.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

  ### 31. User friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Easy to manage and read all information.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

When the L3 ports are rejected this doesnt allow to make corrections and you need to cancel the PON before you are able to submit the changes

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none that I'm aware of

  ### 32. Great company to work with, needs more Canadian DID enhancements.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

SIP Trunking is our primary use right now, but the voice and messaging APIs are also very useful in integrating SMS and voice apps into our offering.

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

The user interface is easy to navigate and it is fairly simple to submit orders.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

911 and directory listings should be able to be input in the order when submitting a port in request. Would save a lot of time. Also, the support team is not the most helpful.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The voice quality Bandwidth provides is nice.

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

> We appreciate your feedback! As we continue to prioritize our customer experience, your insight will help guide improvements and enhance usability.

The A2P 10DLC experience is the worst experience for messaging in the industry right now.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is no longer solving our problems and instead has been the problem the last six months.

My customers need phone numbers. That benefits me because we make money.

  ### 37. Access is efficient as is processing

  ### 41. Great Service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

They quickly respond to tickets and have a great group of people.
We ran into some issues, but they were fast to respond and make things right.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

I do wish the pricing was more upfront and posted without having to go through sales.
The porting process could be easier, we deal with a lot of numbers, and when porting multiple numbers you have to separate them into different zones, and I feel this should be automated.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bandwidth helps with our voice and SMS messaging.

  ### 42. Hate the way you manage password.

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Your support team is always great to work with.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

Your portal is cumbersome. Too many "something went wrong" responses on queries for numbers.

SMS

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

> Thank you for this feedback! Improving the user experience is a priority at Bandwidth, and your insights help us get there.

  ### 45. Easy to use and reliable service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Bandwidth has a large set of available numbers in a lot of regions, rate centers, zip codes, etc. Large provider network making most number porting more efficent with on-net ports. All of our support cases have been worked efficently and the support staff has been very helpful (ex Helping w/ 10DLC registration). Our account rep Addie has been very helpful with providing account related information and any assistance needed in finding the correct support we need.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

There is no ability to add a "friendly name" to numbers to help with easy identification of numbers.

The Sip trunking only supports legacy sip with no option for pjsip trunking.

The SMS expeirence leaves some a decent amount of room to be desired when comparing to some other competitors (ex: Twilio). Logging and debugging information is fairly minimal, when using the message insights it is often that recent messages will not show in the dashboard, requiring to log out and back in for new messages to show. This can make debugging instances where the message does not make it to our application and cant tell if its making it to bandwidth, and made more difficult when working with a customer to test SMS. Some of the developer documentation leaves some additional room to be desired.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SIP to our PBXs that we use to provide VOIP services for our MSP Customers. SMS for one of our applications.

  ### 46. We are leaving bandwidth at the end of april due to overpromising and under delivering.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

I really don't have anything in particular I like. The interface is non intuitive and having a separate portal for E911 is inefficient.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

The interface is non intuitive and having a separate portal for E911 is inefficient. They made promises they did not keep and then when I was dissatisfied with the broken promises I was not allowed out of my contract.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The same ones other carriers have done in the past and making things more difficult because we could never fully move to bandwidth, we had to spread our services across two carriers due to the promise that was never delivered.

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

> Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We are committed to enhancing our interface and creating a more efficient experience by using feedback about how we can improve. Reach out to your Account Manager who can address your contract concerns directly and help find a resolution.

  ### 47. A Disastrous Experience with Bandwidth

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

At the moment none, maybe that will change in the future.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

Profound disappointment and frustration with Bandwidth's A2P SMS Program and Account Managers, which has been nothing short of a nightmare. In August 2022, we were excitedly enrolled in their A2P program, expecting a tailored service that would cater specifically to our needs. However, to this day we are being asked to fill out form after form, re-register. We have yet to send a single message in over a year since apparently being onboard into A2P SMS product.

Firstly, the lack of clarity and direction from Bandwidth is appalling. Despite our explicit request for a rollout in just one country, Bandwidth presented us with a plan for a global rollout in 120 countries. This not only demonstrates a lack of attention to our specific needs but also reflects poor communication and understanding on their part.

// Hidden Transaction Fees
The financial aspect of our experience has been equally frustrating. We recently discovered, much to our dismay, that we have been charged an additional 3% for having a card on file - a fact that was never communicated to us with a dedicated account manager, a single email nor listed on any of our invoices. This lack of transparency and proactiveness in billing practices is unacceptable and reflects poorly on Bandwidth's business ethics.

Moreover, the constant change in account managers has led to a chaotic and disjointed service experience. With three different account managers (ie Sarah, Steve, and now Luke) in 12 months, continuity and understanding of our project suffered greatly. This resulted in mixed messaging, particularly concerning the advice to bulk buy 10-DLC numbers.

The cumulative effect of these issues has been a significant loss of trust in Bandwidth and a sense of shared revenue loss. The program, which was supposed to be a stepping stone to greater success, turned into a source of continuous frustration and disappointment.

In conclusion, our experience with Bandwidth has been extremely negative. The lack of focus on our specific needs, poor communication, hidden charges, and inconsistent account management have all contributed to a situation where our expectations have been thoroughly unmet. I'm compelled to share this experience openly as a caution to others who might consider engaging with Bandwidth for similar services.

We expected professionalism and efficiency but were met with a series of letdowns that have significantly impacted our business.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Domestic (US) SMS messaging, but lacking in International SMS.

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

> Your response and honesty is appreciated. We recognize the incredible complexity involved and the revenue at stake when choosing to execute a strategy with a new messaging partner. We would love to hear more about your concerns that you mentioned. Your account manager should already be in touch to remedy this situation!

  ### 48. Great Service at a Great Price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronald B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Bandwidth is responsive and easy to do business with. We have been porting 100s of numbers in. THeir porting team is thorough and diligent. We are kept informed through every step.

The PSTN service are extremely reliable. After we move all of our customer to Bandwidth we haven't had a single incident.

The people are friendly and professional.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

There is nothing i dislike about Bandwidth.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bandwidth provides reliable SIP trunking. There are moreredundancy and failover possibilities than our other system can match. We haven't experience an outage. This makes our customer happy.

  ### 49. Overall, ok, not great.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

You have really good peope who mostly make up for your other issues.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

I think you guys are kinda expensive for some of your rates and your tech is acceptable but not good.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lots of companies offer what BW does, so your not really solving anything. You are providing a service that others also provide, and its kinda like a commodity.

**Official Response from Laney Alspaugh:**

> We appreciate your feedback about our team and your experience. We're always looking for more ways to provide added value to our customers and enhance our offerings.

  ### 50. Great UI overall

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Bandwidth?**

Love the porting functionality as well as purchasing numbers which makes it easy to select multiple numbers even from different area codes.

**What do you dislike about Bandwidth?**

Sometimes there are issues with hosting a number where the number does not get updated and we have to reach out to Support but there is no way of us knowing through the UI, something that indicates this would be awesome.

I also wish there was a filter functionality on the SMS campaigns tab, it's really counter productive the way it is set to navigate through the pages as of now.

**What problems is Bandwidth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us provision numbers for SMS.
