"Clean, Intuitive HRIS with Strong Functionality and Seamless Integrations"
5/5
What do you like best about BambooHR?

What I like best about BambooHR

is that it balances simplicity with strong HR functionality. The platform feels very clean and intuitive, which makes it easier for both HR teams and employees to actually use without a huge learning curve. A lot of HR software can feel overwhelming, but BambooHR is known for having one of the better UI/UX experiences in the HRIS space.

From an integrations standpoint, it works well with many third-party tools and supports 150+ integrations plus an open API, which helps companies connect payroll, benefits, and other HR systems without rebuilding their entire workflow.

Performance-wise, most users describe the system as reliable, fast, and easy to navigate for everyday tasks like onboarding, PTO requests, employee records, and reporting. However, some larger organizations mention that it can feel limiting when companies become highly complex or scale rapidly.

For pricing and ROI, BambooHR tends to provide strong value for small to midsize businesses because it centralizes many HR processes into one platform and reduces manual administrative work. The biggest downside is the lack of transparent pricing since most plans require custom quotes and add-ons can increase costs over time.

Support and onboarding are usually reviewed positively. Many users say implementation is straightforward and the onboarding workflows are one of BambooHR’s strongest features. Still, there are mixed experiences with customer support, especially when handling more advanced issues or larger implementations.

As for AI and intelligence features, BambooHR focuses more on automation and usability than advanced AI. It offers workflow automation, reporting, reminders, and approval systems, but it is generally not viewed as a deeply AI-driven platform compared to some newer HR tech competitors. What do you dislike about BambooHR?

One of the biggest complaints about BambooHR

is that while it’s very easy to use, it can start to feel limited as a company grows or needs more advanced HR workflows. A lot of users love the clean UI/UX at first, but later realize the customization and reporting tools are somewhat rigid compared to competitors like Rippling or Workday.

Another common frustration is pricing transparency. BambooHR doesn’t publicly list full pricing, so businesses have to go through demos and sales calls just to get quotes. Many users also mention that important features such as payroll, benefits administration, advanced analytics, performance tools, and phone support are treated as paid add-ons, which can make the total cost much higher than expected.

Support quality is another area where reviews are mixed. Some customers say onboarding is smooth initially, but support becomes slower or less helpful after implementation. Complaints about delayed responses, reliance on AI/chatbot support, and unresolved payroll or tax issues appear repeatedly across review platforms and Reddit discussions.

From a performance and integrations perspective, BambooHR works well for basic HR management, but some users report syncing issues with third-party payroll systems and limited flexibility for complex integrations or multi-company operations.

Regarding AI and intelligence features, BambooHR is often viewed as behind competitors. Users specifically mention the lack of AI-powered recruiting tools, automated candidate matching, LinkedIn sourcing integrations, and advanced analytics. Teams that rely heavily on recruiting automation or data-driven HR insights may find the platform too basic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One HR Hub That Keeps Us Organized"
5/5
What do you like best about BambooHR?

I really like that we can keep everything HR-related organized and in one place. The company calendar is helpful for seeing who will be out of the office. The hiring feature also keeps us organized, and the automated emails help us stay in touch with qualified candidates. I’m able to view compensation history as well as continuing education history for our employees, which makes it easier to keep records up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

Sometimes the Time Off section is hard to follow, although that may just be due to how we have it set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One HR Platform with Payroll, ATS, Reporting, and Engagement Surveys"

What do you like best about BambooHR?

Clean aesthetics, close to all in one platform with payroll, perf management, ATS, reporting, surveys for engagement data and continually adding features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

limited reporting capabilities such as inability to incorporate some specific payroll data into the general reporting feature even when the data exists in the same system. example would be safe harbor match dollars reported in the payroll does not carry over to the total rewards feature which skews the employer investment in each employee. Another dislike is having to log into 3 different webtabs to access three company accounts. would be more efficient to log into one and select fro a drop down which company we are needing to view to work in. "Simplifies Hiring, But PTO requests could be streamlined"
3.5/5
What do you like best about BambooHR?

I love how BambooHR allows me to quickly and easily see what my employees are doing in terms of when and where they clock in, which is great for due diligence. I enjoy the location services, and overall, it's a simple platform to use. I think the strongest part of BambooHR is the onboarding and hiring process. I like being able to cross-post and have everything show up under one dashboard, with form templates, emails, and the onboarding process all in one place once a candidate is selected. It's very valuable for us to sort through many applications quickly and get people in for interviews, especially since we're a small company without a large HR department. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

Yeah. I find the paid time off options a little confusing, especially in how they represent different policies for different employee groups. I think that whole process could be smoother and more intuitive. I’d also like more clarity when it comes to tracking remaining PTO for employees on an accrual-based PTO structure. Right now there’s a bit of guesswork in knowing whether you can approve upcoming vacation time, since accrual can vary depending on the number of hours worked. I’d love to see some kind of prediction tool that gauges how likely it is that an employee will have accrued enough PTO to cover their request by the time the time off occurs. "Sleek, Stable HR Platform with Powerful Automation and Smooth Onboarding"
4.5/5
What do you like best about BambooHR?

BambooHR has turned out to be an excellent HR software solution for our company. The user interface is sleek, easy to use, and up to date, which helps both HR staff and employees feel comfortable using the system with minimal effort. It integrates with various payroll, benefits management, and productivity tools, and this has helped us optimize our business processes while reducing unnecessary paperwork. The system is stable and works effectively, with lightning-fast loading speeds and no downtime.

Although it isn’t the cheapest HR software on the market, it has proven to be a worthwhile investment thanks to its high level of automation, employee self-service options, and straightforward onboarding. Our onboarding process went smoothly, and the customer service team provided useful information whenever we needed assistance. While BambooHR’s AI functions are relatively basic compared with other software solutions available today, its automation, reporting, and workflow features are still very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

One area where BambooHR could improve is reporting and customization, especially for companies with more complex HR practices. Some functionalities require additional integrations or upgrades, which can lead to extra costs. BambooHR does an excellent job managing the core essentials of HR, but it doesn’t offer many AI capabilities compared with some other competitors on the market. We’ve also noticed that certain processes could be more flexible and customizable to better meet company-specific requirements. That said, these challenges haven’t significantly affected the overall quality of the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean, Intuitive UI with Reliable Performance"
5/5
What do you like best about BambooHR?

BambooHR's UI is clean and intuitive everything is easy to find with minimal training needed. It integrates well with common tools, though deeper custom integrations can take some effort. Performance-wise, the platform is reliable and responsive day-to-day. Pricing is reasonable for an SMB, though costs can creep up as you add modules. Support is solid with good onboarding resources. The AI features like the assistant and eNPS tools are a nice touch, though still maturing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

Reporting could be more flexible — building custom reports feels limited compared to dedicated BI tools. Some features like payroll and benefits are heavily US-focused, which isn't ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
