**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I really like that we can keep everything HR-related organized and in one place. The company calendar is helpful for seeing who will be out of the office. The hiring feature also keeps us organized, and the automated emails help us stay in touch with qualified candidates. I’m able to view compensation history as well as continuing education history for our employees, which makes it easier to keep records up to date.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

Sometimes the Time Off section is hard to follow, although that may just be due to how we have it set up.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We weren’t very strong at hiring and onboarding before, but BambooHR has made it much easier to ensure we have all the right paperwork in place before a new hire starts. Having new employees complete their paperwork digitally has been a real time-saver for us and helps the whole process feel more organized.

What I like best about BambooHR is how easy it is to use. Employee information, time-off requests, documents, and reporting are all kept in one place, which makes routine HR tasks faster and more organized. The system is straightforward for both administrators and employees, so it doesn’t require a lot of training to get started.

I really do not have any dislikes. But i have not used it for super long to determine this.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

BambooHR has turned out to be an excellent HR software solution for our company. The user interface is sleek, easy to use, and up to date, which helps both HR staff and employees feel comfortable using the system with minimal effort. It integrates with various payroll, benefits management, and productivity tools, and this has helped us optimize our business processes while reducing unnecessary paperwork. The system is stable and works effectively, with lightning-fast loading speeds and no downtime.

Although it isn’t the cheapest HR software on the market, it has proven to be a worthwhile investment thanks to its high level of automation, employee self-service options, and straightforward onboarding. Our onboarding process went smoothly, and the customer service team provided useful information whenever we needed assistance. While BambooHR’s AI functions are relatively basic compared with other software solutions available today, its automation, reporting, and workflow features are still very helpful.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

One area where BambooHR could improve is reporting and customization, especially for companies with more complex HR practices. Some functionalities require additional integrations or upgrades, which can lead to extra costs. BambooHR does an excellent job managing the core essentials of HR, but it doesn’t offer many AI capabilities compared with some other competitors on the market. We’ve also noticed that certain processes could be more flexible and customizable to better meet company-specific requirements. That said, these challenges haven’t significantly affected the overall quality of the service.

Before implementing BambooHR, we relied on spreadsheets and a mix of different tools to manage employee records, track time off, and handle onboarding. That setup led to redundancy, avoidable mistakes, and a lot of time-consuming administrative work. BambooHR brought all of our company’s HR information into one place, making it much easier to manage employee data and track time-off requests. It also streamlined and automated onboarding. Employees can now enter their own personal details and submit various requests through the self-service portal, which frees up our team to focus on other HR activities. Overall, we’ve saved several hours each week on HR administration and improved the accuracy of our employee information.

BambooHR's UI is clean and intuitive everything is easy to find with minimal training needed. It integrates well with common tools, though deeper custom integrations can take some effort. Performance-wise, the platform is reliable and responsive day-to-day. Pricing is reasonable for an SMB, though costs can creep up as you add modules. Support is solid with good onboarding resources. The AI features like the assistant and eNPS tools are a nice touch, though still maturing.

Reporting could be more flexible — building custom reports feels limited compared to dedicated BI tools. Some features like payroll and benefits are heavily US-focused, which isn't ideal.

I find BambooHR easy to use, which is a big plus for me. The onboarding process feels straightforward and quick, so as an employee I can get up to speed without much effort and focus on other tasks. On top of that, BambooHR seems to make scaling easier for our team, which I find really helpful.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I like that it it super-intuitive to use (I can usually figure out what I'm trying to do really quickly), it's web-based (not depended on on-prem infrastructure and performance), and it doesn't overwhelm the user with useless information (layout is simple). It's a very cost-effective solution for small-medium businesses and non-profits.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

I do wish they had more sophisticated integrations (I work in IT, and there have been times where I wish it "talked" with our existing systems, primarily Microsoft 365/Entra ID to provide a more seamless experience on the backend; as is, it's effectively a standalone system apart from the rest of our infrastructure).

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our company, it hits the perfect balance between complexity, cost, and what we need it to do. We're not big enough for some of the "Rolls Royce" of products, but we're well-passed DIY HR solutions too. That seems to be BambooHR's bread and butter and it works well!

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I love that BambooHR offers so many resources and guides that truly walk you through every part of the setup process. I’ll often think of a question to ask our implementation specialist, but I don’t even have to wait for a response because I can simply refer to the guides they provide and find the answer myself.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

I honestly haven’t run into any issues with Bamboo so far. The only improvement that comes to mind is the onboarding process: it would be great if we could add a company history video directly there. Right now, it seems like you can include a link, but you can’t actually embed the video. That said, this is a minor point compared to the many other great things Bamboo has to offer.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BambooHR has helped us automate our processes and become more efficient. For starters, we now have an applicant tracking system, and that alone has helped us maintain a strong pool of talent. We also automated our hiring and onboarding process, which used to be completely manual. Overall, it’s made everything feel more professional and much more streamlined.

BambooHR also offers far better reporting than the prior system we were using. On top of that, there’s a great AI feature that’s helpful when we need it, and the customer service is awesome. After calls, they often offer additional help or resources they can send me, which I really appreciate.

The onboarding is a great experience to start at the company. It offers strong support and is easy to use! The integrated AI is also a great addition. Overall, the app is clear, user-friendly, and performs reliably all the time.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

What could be great is taking the onboarding to the next level by integrating more of our Outlook or Office pack into the website. It would also help to be able to view our team and where they are directly, rather than only seeing the whole office. It would add even more ROI if we could  see if one our teammates is working from home or from out of state

We really struggled to find an HR platform with a more human approach—one that feels like it’s genuinely helping employees rather than policing them. With the right platform, you actually want to go in regularly because it’s a tool that helps you connect, not just a place to log information.

I think the best thing about it is the clean UI; it’s the cleanest I’ve seen on an HR portal.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

While BambooHR is easy to use and has a clean interface, there are a few areas where I think it could improve.

The reporting tools feel fairly basic, and building custom reports isn’t as flexible as I’d like. Some workflows also take more manual effort than expected; stronger automation would help cut down time spent on repetitive tasks. I’ve also run into system limitations where customization is restricted, especially around approvals and certain HR processes.

Another drawback is that some useful features are only available as paid add-ons, which can push the overall cost higher. The mobile app works well for basic tasks, but it doesn’t include all the functionality available on the desktop version. Integrations with other systems could be smoother too, since syncing data occasionally requires manual follow-up. Finally, I’d love to see more advanced analytics and dashboards to provide better visibility into HR data.

BambooHR has made it much easier to manage everyday HR tasks in one place. It streamlines processes like applying for leave, checking leave balances, accessing company documents, viewing payslips, and updating personal information, without needing to reach out to HR each time. The platform is user-friendly, so it’s easy to find what you need and complete tasks quickly.

From an employee’s perspective, it improves transparency and keeps everything organized within a single system. It also cuts down on back-and-forth with HR for routine requests, which saves time for both employees and the HR team.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I definitely find the variety of reports valuable, especially since we are an international company. It gives me access to information on employees from our other divisions around the world, so I'm not completely in the dark when someone asks for information that I would be unable to access with our payroll platform. It's very valuable when I have to work with other divisions globally. I also find the layout easier to use, and there's more comprehensive information than just the standard payroll and HRIS systems. Additionally, despite not being present for the initial setup of BambooHR, I found it very easy and intuitive to use once I started working in my position.

I honestly have nothing to add here!

I use BambooHR to pull information for payroll reviews, accruals, onboarding, and terminations. It provides a variety of reports for easy access and helps me find employee information efficiently, especially when working with international divisions.

I really appreciate being able to see all 315 employees at once, which is quite convenient. It's really nice to visualize the org chart and fill out forms quickly for my HR team. I like the ability to sign forms very quickly on BambooHR, which means I don't have to print them out. It's all in one place, and I can just press sign and move on with my day. The initial setup was very simple, making the transition smooth.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

I find it a little bit confusing on where to actually find things. For example, in the file section, I can't always find every single file that I've ever signed. That's probably the biggest difficulty.

I like that BambooHR brings many HR functions into one place. In my role, I use it to access employee information, complete HR-related tasks, track time, and manage benefits, which makes it easier to find what I need and stay organized.

One area that could be improved is reporting. As an HR user, I sometimes need to pull specific employee or HR data, and creating a report with exactly the information I need can take some trial and error. More flexible and intuitive reporting options would be helpful.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

Easy to navigate, simple interface. I've never been unable to find something I'm looking for. I most often use the "time off" tab, and view the org chart. I have no complaints with either of those features.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

The only thing that I find difficult is accessing the company calendar. Right now I have to navigate to "Who's Out" and then click on a small button at the bottom that says "Full Calendar." I check the calendar not just for seeing who's out but also to find company holidays. I wish there was a more intuitive way to access it.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Both companies I've worked for have used BambooHR. I was actually glad to see my current company uses Bamboo when I joined! However, I can't say what I used to struggle with since I have never had to use another HR software. I also have to use Insperity to access my benefits, and I don't like Insperity as much as Bamboo. The UI feels more cluttered. They also make me change my password once a year, which I don't like.

I like that it’s easy to use and navigate. The information is clearly presented, so it’s simple to find what I’m looking for.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

My HR team seems pretty confused about how to use the tool. They often add multiple reviews, close them too early, or enter incorrect or duplicate information. It may be user error, but that’s definitely the biggest drawback for me.

Our old HR system was clunky and hard to use, information was constantly disappearing. I like that Bamboo includes all of my information in one place - pto, comp, company docs, and that i can even sign documents directly in platform.

How customizable it is! We switched to Mosaic awhile back and we are so happy to be switching back to Bamboo!!! Mosaic did not allow much customization and was very complicated to use, while Bamboo is not complicated at all and allows for so much customization, especially compared to Mosaic

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

The only thing I don't like about Bamboo is that it does not have a scheduler/time card functionality, so we have to use it + Deputy for schedules and time cards. If they had those additions as well, it would be damn near perfect!

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I found BambooHR really easy to use at a previous company, and I like features such as checking staff members' birthdays and having one place to see if someone's out for the day, like out on PTO. This is especially helpful because I often need to know who's working and who isn't to handle calls effectively. Setting up BambooHR was very easy, and it's helpful for tracking employees' PTO and pay stubs as the organization grows.

I wish I could see pending PTO requests that haven't been approved yet so I know who else on my team may be wanting time off at the same time I am.

I find BambooHR helps employees keep track of their PTO and pay stubs. It's really easy to use and allows me to see staff birthdays and who's on leave, which assists in planning calls and setting up birthday celebrations.

What I like best about BambooHR is its straightforward and user-friendly interface, which makes everyday HR tasks simple to manage. The org chart/tree view is especially helpful for quickly understanding team structure and reporting lines. I also find it very convenient to request leave and easily check annual leave balances in one place. Overall, it saves time and makes HR processes much more organized and accessible.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

One thing I dislike about BambooHR is that it can be hard to navigate to the Inbox, especially when trying to find sent requests. It would also be much better if it had a smoother integration with Slack for notifications and updates. In addition, BambooHR feels limited when it comes to tracking salary reviews, annual bonuses, and similar compensation-related processes. Improving these areas would make the platform much more complete and convenient.

What I like most about BambooHR is how simple and organized it makes HR work. A drawback for me is that the payroll feature is limited to the U.S. The platform is not adaptable to other countries. It would be great that you would be able to use the payroll feature and customize taxes, social security etc. to fit the country.

BambooHR is very user-friendly. The interface is clean, and both HR admins and employees can navigate it easily with little to no training. Features like employee self-service, time-off tracking, onboarding workflows, and document management are well designed and help reduce a lot of manual effort.

The onboarding experience is especially strong. It helps standardize processes and makes it less likely that anything falls through the cracks. Reporting is also solid for day-to-day needs, and the option to customize certain fields and workflows adds helpful flexibility.

BambooHR starts to show its limitations when you get into more complex use cases. The reporting is solid, but it isn’t especially advanced if you need deeper analytics or highly customized reporting. **What do you like best about BambooHR?**

As an employee, I love how the dashboard shows my annual leave, so I can easily keep track of how many days off I have available. I also like that it lets me submit a leave request for my manager to approve. I don’t have to chase my leader to check the status or ask for approval, because Bamboo HR notifies the relevant stakeholders.

Our HR department has integrated courses on Udemy, so I can click the link directly and see which courses are available for me to complete. I can also see that many files are stored there, and I can find what I need quickly in one place without having to ask anyone else. When I need it, I feel I can trust Bamboo to handle the workload smoothly.

I was onboarded through Bamboo, and it gave me very clear instructions on what to do first and what to do next. That really impressed me and showed how professional the company is. When I uploaded the required files, everything worked reliably and was genuinely helpful.

I think AI chat box not really helpful at the moment because I prompted some simple prompts but it didnt respond. Most of the time is "I'm sorry, I couldn't find specific guidance on how to view other employees in BambooHR." or similar to this.

The widgets on the home page sometimes do not have data. This can be refined further by not showing any widgets for the data which i do not have access to or else just show the error that the data view rights are not present to show a visual chart.

Nothing in particular. If I were to add one suggestion, it would be to organize days off, sick days, and unpaid leave a little better. I should be able to view both the days I have scheduled off and the days I’ve already taken off by month. Currently, I don’t see it laid out or organized very well.

The timesheet view is the thing I actually open every day. I can see my weekly hours in one shot, which matters because I'm part time and I'm watching my total for benefits stuff. Clocking in from my phone takes about 5 seconds. Time off requests don't need follow up, I submit and it routes to my manager on its own. The interface is clean, nothing buried five menus deep. Sounds basic but most HR tools I've touched feel like filing taxes.

Honestly my main gripe is the home dashboard feels a little empty for what I actually need day to day. i want my hours this week front and center, not three clicks in. Holiday accrual rules and pay date stuff aren't surfaced anywhere I can find, so I end up asking HR questions that the tool could probably just show me. The mobile app is fine for clocking in but slower to load than it should be, maybe 4 or 5 seconds before I can tap anything. Would also be nice if the integrations panel was easier to find without hunting through settings.

The time off request feature is super simple to use. I love the "job" tab that marks pertinent info like raise bumps for record keeping. The org chart is helpful, as well as knowing who is out of office. Quick document signatures, easily accessible newsletters in one location, job descriptions in one location, bday notices are a nice addition, as well as notices of new hires starting.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

Maybe this is a feature request, but the "calculate balance" button in the time off request section I thought it would help calculate where your PTO is projected to be at by a certain date in the future at the current rate you have given the dates you already have locked in for time off to help you determine if you would have enough PTO by that date to cover a day off. Also, independent contractors are not listed in bamboo--I don't know if this is a company practice by not including them, but it would be helpful to know if they are still employed with us before I try to reach out to them.

Clarification with org chart easily accessible on who to report certain issues about. Easily accessible time off information to refer to and easy to submit requests. E-signatures for company-wide documents needed like acknowledgment of policies yearly. And again, tracking of raises and job title changes is SO nice to keep for my records.

Very user friendly and easy to use. Our implementation was pretty seamless and it's been easy to use ever since.

It's not very advanced and there is limited ability to add tools or features that you need. You kind of just get what is there and then have to find a work around if a feature is not available. 

For instance, I mainly use the Applicant Tracking System. I wish there was a way to pull an open requisition report, but there isn't and I've submitted requests to have one created, but it hasn't happened so I have to manually create mine every month for leadership. 

I also wish there was some AI compatibility for the Applicant Tracking System to rank candidates, help with database searches, etc. Many of the other ATS systems on the market have this.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use the Applicant Tracking System. By far the best feature is that it is very user friendly, for both me and the candidate. It's hard to get candidates these days so if they have a complex application process or the system is not easy to use, they'll just give up and move on to another company. BambooHR is very simple and easy to use which helps a lot.

As a developer, I mostly use BambooHR for my own stuff — PTO, profile updates, and finding people on the org chart — and it’s straightforward. Requesting time off takes a minute, I can see my balance before I submit, and I get notified when it’s approved, so I’m not pinging HR or checking email threads.

The employee directory is genuinely useful when you’re new or working across teams: you can see who owns what without digging through Slack or Confluence. Onboarding tasks were clear too — documents, policies, and setup steps in one place instead of a scattered inbox.

The UI is simple and loads quickly. I don’t need training to use it, which matters when HR tools are usually the last thing you want to think about. Self-service is the main win: small changes I can handle myself, and HR only gets involved when it actually needs a human.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

As an employee, I don’t like that compensation information (salary, package, bonus) appears on regular screens without any extra protection. This is sensitive pay data, and I feel it should require a password or stricter access controls to view.

Bamboo is very user-friendly, and everything I need is easy to find across the different pages. I also like that I can check my clock and see how many hours I’ve worked throughout the day.

Sometimes I have issues with clocking out. The app will tell me I’ve clocked out, but then the next day, when I go to clock in, it shows that I didn’t clock out. Because of that, I often have to ask my supervisor to change my timesheet.

I also don’t like that the Bamboo app doesn’t let my company clock in and out easily, so we have to use the web browser on our phones and do it the long way. I’d really like the app to work for us, because it would save a lot of time.

I like how easy it is to navigate BambooHR and how logical the system is to understand. It's extremely user-friendly; I was pretty much able to open it and know how it worked within the first fifteen minutes. I also appreciate the organization chart, which helps me see who belongs to each area, especially in the technology area, and it's really fast to know who to contact for any issue I might have. I find the feedback dynamics very valuable because they help in growing and improving work ethic.

It has all the information in one place. I like that I can see my pending holidays, details about my profile and the company, and even other people at our company. It’s really helpful for keeping track of all these things.

I honestly haven’t seen anything I dislike about BambooHR yet. It’s been one of the best apps for viewing all the information and approval requests I have worked with. Other apps can make it hard to find what you need, but this one is easy to use and navigate.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It mainly helps me request approvals for time off and look up coworkers along with their contact information. It also keeps me aware of what’s happening in the company, such as news, celebrations, who’s out, and upcoming holidays.

I think the best thing about BambooHR is how simple it is, along with its clean UI. I can usually find what I’m looking for pretty quickly. For example, I mainly use BambooHR to book time off or check my team’s vacations, and I can do that in just a couple of simple clicks.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

It’s relatively small, but the login process can be annoying. I don’t like that when I’m signing in from a new device, I have to enter the company space again. It just adds more friction to getting on the platform.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BambooHR makes it easy for me to handle basic HR tasks quickly in one place. Before, booking time off meant I had to talk to my manager in person, and I also had to keep track of my vacation days on my own. Now it’s nice to have all of that managed on a platform instead of doing everything manually.

I really like BambooHR because it's simple to use with a friendly UI. It makes it easy to manage hiring intake, recruiters, and applicants. Tracking candidates and comments, along with viewing resumes and application timelines, is straightforward. The clean, simple interface really stands out, and I find it much easier to use compared to other platforms like Workday. The initial setup was pretty easy, with HR being able to import legacy data smoothly.

I think maybe BambooHR could improve in areas like advanced tracking of some things and project collaboration. It seems to be lacking some metrics like salaries and project tracking. I feel like Ashby does better in those aspects.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

The feature I like most about Bamboo HR is that I can apply for leave and also give feedback there. I also like that Bamboo HR sends instant email updates, so I can stay informed. It’s convenient to be able to check my leave status all in one place.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

One thing I disliked about Bamboo Hr is that my company has a marriage leave policy, but when I applied for leave, they said that category couldn’t be added. I feel that if this category were available, it would be much more convenient to view my leave balance.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don’t have to ask HR for my leave balance anymore. All leave requests are in one place, and my manager’s feedback is also easy to find there. I can also submit anonymous surveys about employees.

They have added some features to hiring that help move applicants through the process instead of making it hard to tell where they were.

Onboarding & Offboarding tasks appear to be organized for the admin view into different categories but for new hires or people leaving they are not in any categories and can only be found in their notifications. I wish they would improve this feature. 

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bamboo HR has helped our small business with onboarding and offboarding with easy to create task-lists with people specific assignments and electronic signature options. It allows our employees to request PTO and see their balance with ease. Hourly employees can easily track hours and managers can approve them. I also love the added benefit of the Employee time-off, work anniversary, and birthday calendar synching with google!

I like that with BambooHR, I can easily search for emails without having to ask people for their addresses; I just put their name in. I also appreciate the convenience of being able to ask for permissions directly through the app, which means I don't have to write long emails explaining why I need time off—I just enter the day I need, and they approve it or not. Additionally, the initial setup was really easy for me; my company made me an account, and I only needed to put in my personal info to start using it.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

I wish there was an option so I don't have to enter my password like 8 times a day. Every time I go out of the Google window where I have BambooHR, it automatically closes, and I have to put the password again and again.

BambooHR simplifies clocking in and out, email search, permission requests, and entering work information. It helps find emails without needing to ask others. The app also makes vacation requests easy by avoiding long emails and directly sending requests.

I really like the feature of suggesting goals that align with your job description, as sometimes it is quite difficult to identify things you'd want to achieve as goals with a company, especially if you are new. BambooHR has this thing of coming up with nicely broken down goals for you that makes a lot of sense. The initial setup was pretty easy and smooth, and I had an onboarder that made things very easy. Overall, it's a really good platform.

I dislike their mobile app functionality, it usually slags which is why I usually use the website
