"Balsamiq Democratizes Design - in a Bad Way"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Balsamiq?

Balsamiq is extraordinarily easy to use. Everything is drag and drop and, designed to mimic hand-sketched mock ups, affords the user the ability to design at a low fidelity. In theory, this allows one to demonstrate proof of concept without a ton of investment in the actual nuts and bolts of pixel-perfect design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Balsamiq?

The ease of use is ultimately Balsamiqs downfall...at least in the design community. As a professional designer, it is possible to quickly wireframe at low fidelity, with repeatable and customizable components, in a Sketch or a Figma. For designers, Balsamiq doesn't save much time and is immensely inhibiting. Moreover, the "hand drawn" aesthetic can sometimes be distracting and/or unprofessional for some projects. But most of all, it brings too many cooks into the design kitchen. Anybody and their mother can string a mockup(s) together in Balsamiq and, all of the sudden, they think they are a product designer. I can't tell you how many times I got terrible, ill-conceived "mock ups" from a client or a stakeholder or a PM that watered down the actual design thinking and design work I was tasked with. "Quick tool for wireframes"
4/5
What do you like best about Balsamiq?

This is the easiest and quickest tool to create wireframes. Drag and drop makes life easy and great. Also, predefined components help to make rapid wireframes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Balsamiq?

I don't think there is anything I dislike about Balsamiq, apart from the fact that it isn't easy to create complicated scenarios. Also, sometimes the cloud version goes slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Pulled abilities I didn't know I had out of me"
5/5
What do you like best about Balsamiq?

It has all of the elements you want to showcase an idea easily accessible, well organized, and simple to place and set up/adjust in your wireframe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Balsamiq?

There's not a lot of room for custom design. Yes, it is just a wireframe, but sometimes you have to search for an element that fits what you're thinking of and you can't find it immediately, when it would be easy enough to just draw what you're trying to do manually. Even though 90+% of the time the built in elements are going to be great for getting your point across, sometimes I feel stuck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best mockup program of all time"
4/5
What do you like best about Balsamiq?

It's one of the most user-friendly platforms for creating mockups.

+ Rich content

+ Assets for both iOS and Android

+ Also great for creating websites & saas tools mockups Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Balsamiq?

It can be a bit slow sometimes, and maybe they should increase its performance. And I'd like to see more specific icons. Sometimes it's not enough, and I cannot find what I'm looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Super easy (but limited) prototyping tool"
4/5
What do you like best about Balsamiq?

Balsamiq is easy to use and to introduce to other teammates without a design background. The ability to drag-and-drop components makes it intuitive for most users! Their component gallery has pretty much all the elements one would need to create wireframes for testing ideas. I also love the ability to create simple links between screens, which makes it easy to test navigation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Balsamiq?

The simplicity helps with ease of use, but it can be limiting at times. The table component is hard to use and very limited. I end up using lines or rectangles when I need a better "table". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My go-to for wireframing"
4/5
What do you like best about Balsamiq?

It's incredibly simple to use. I can just drag things on to the screen from the toolbox and I have a wireframe. Other products are much more bloated and complicated to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Balsamiq?

I'd like a few more pre-built controls in the toolbox. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
