## Balsamiq Reviews
  ### 1. Fast, Low-Fidelity Wireframes for Better Early Product Conversations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Depaak R. | Product Manager, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

As a Product Manager, I use Balsamiq primarily during the requirements-gathering and solutioning phase, before designs move into high-fidelity tools. What I appreciate most is how quickly it lets me turn ideas into wireframes without getting distracted by visual perfection.

One of Balsamiq’s biggest strengths is its intentionally low-fidelity approach. When discussing a new feature with stakeholders, developers, or business teams, the focus stays on workflows, user journeys, and functionality rather than colors, typography, or visual design decisions. This has helped our team have more productive conversations early in the product lifecycle.

The learning curve is very small as well. New team members can start creating wireframes in a short amount of time without needing formal training. The drag-and-drop component library is extensive enough to cover most common product scenarios, such as dashboards, onboarding journeys, forms, profile pages, payment screens, and workflow-driven applications.

I also like the interface structure: design elements are easy to access from the top toolbar, while editable properties are available in the right-side panel. This layout makes changes quick and intuitive.
balsamiq is quite good in handling more screen loads on one work space where i have revamped my entire business journey where i have created 30+ screens in one workspace and the space was quite good to handle the load and retain screen sometimes to replicate a smaller action easily.

There is also an image analyzer that tracks unused images across other projects over time and prompts us to decide whether to remove or retain them. The option to restore items from the trash is commendable as well.

Another useful capability is the AI feature that converts screenshots or images into editable wireframe components. And also options to perform more edits with the prompting way. We’ve used this when documenting existing customer journeys and redesigning legacy experiences, and it saves time compared to recreating screens entirely from scratch.

For product teams that need to validate ideas quickly before investing significant design effort, Balsamiq is an excellent starting point.

It also offers a team package for purchasing, where the entire team can access, view, and review other team members’ projects, and it allows people to work at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The area where I feel Balsamiq has the biggest opportunity for improvement is AI.

While AI has become a major productivity driver across modern product and design tools, Balsamiq's AI functionality currently feels more focused on converting existing visuals into editable wireframe elements rather than helping generate new ideas.

For example, if I provide a rough concept or business problem, I would expect AI to suggest alternative layouts, UX approaches, onboarding flows, dashboard structures, or feature variations. Currently, the AI assistance feels more like a conversion utility than a design-thinking partner or to provide an UI approach thoughts or UI validating designed screens.

Performance is another area that could be improved. Larger projects sometimes take noticeable time to load, and navigating across multiple projects can become cumbersome when working on several initiatives simultaneously.

I would also love to see split-screen functionality. There are many situations where I need to compare two user journeys, reference another project, or copy design patterns between projects. Today, this requires switching between tabs or windows, which interrupts workflow efficiency.

Collaboration capabilities are good for basic review cycles but could become more seamless for teams working in highly collaborative environments where multiple stakeholders frequently review and iterate on wireframes.

Version comparison and project organization could also be enhanced to support larger product teams managing multiple initiatives at scale.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq helps bridge the gap between requirements and design.

In many product discussions, stakeholders struggle to visualize ideas through documentation alone. Before adopting Balsamiq, requirement discussions often resulted in multiple clarification meetings because different teams interpreted requirements differently.

Now, whenever a new feature is proposed, I create a quick wireframe to represent the intended experience. This gives developers, designers, QA teams, and business stakeholders a common visual reference point.

As a result:

Requirement clarity has improved.
Feedback is received much earlier in the lifecycle.
Development rework has reduced.
Stakeholder alignment happens faster.
Product discussions become more outcome-focused.
Journey designing and bring together into thoughtful picture became effective

For example, when designing customer onboarding journeys and dashboard experiences, creating wireframes in Balsamiq allowed us to identify usability concerns before development started, saving both development effort and iteration cycles later.

Overall, it has become an important tool in our product discovery and requirement validation process, providing a visual treat for gathered ideas.

  ### 2. Fast lofi wireframes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is ideal for anyone who needs to quickly create wireframes for apps without spending too much time learning complex software.

It has a large library of pre-built UI components, making it easy to quickly drag and drop elements into wireframes. It's easy to create projects and link frames together. It can export to stand-alone images or a PDF with clickable hyperlinks.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It's purposely low fidelity that helps deliver fast conceptual mockups, but occasionally it would be nice to be able to move those wireframes into a higher fidelity rendition.

They've recently announced the Desktop edition will be getting less and less development focus which I understand given usage stats, but I do prefer it for offline work.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to get bogged down in the look and feel of a final design so lofi wireframes are purposely "sketchy" in order to focus on app concepts and usability. Balsamiq fits that need very nicely allowing attention to be given to the conceptual design.

  ### 3. Balsamiq Tool Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

One of the standout features of Balsamiq is its simplicity. The interface is clean and intuitive. The drag-and-drop functionality allows for quick and effortless placement of elements, and the pre-built components library offers a wide range of UI elements to choose from, saving a lot of time and manual effort.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq's simplicity and focus on low-fidelity wireframes may limit its usefulness for projects requiring high-fidelity visual representation. Other tools do a better job at more intricate designs.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Drag and drop designs
2. Pre configured components
3. Easy UI to develop quick mockups and wireframes

  ### 4. Decent tool for wireframing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

- Predefined templates
- Number of utilities, and icons within the app that you don't have to export anything from outside and use it.
- Quick and easy to drag and drop the assets and build the wireframe

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

- Looks outdated design.
- Slightly complex in understanding initially for the first time user

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Quick input to the engineering team to make them start designing the code.
- Quick input to the design team to communicate your thoughts about the design solving the problem on the top of which designer could build or share feedback
- Easy for communication to the stakeholders not technical

  ### 5. Gets the job done

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2015

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Simple and intuitive. Easy drag and drop features. Coming to Balsamiq from Axure, this was as basic as could be and required no learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It's not very easy to modify text styles (underlined, bold, highlighted). I know that defeats the purpose of this simple wire framing tool, but sometimes things like that are necessary in order to communicate with others reviewing the design.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

If looking for a very robust rapid prototyping tool, look outside of Balsamiq.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick and easy to modify wire framing.

  ### 6. Balsamiq is solid

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bobbi H. | Project manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I used it only for wireframing, and it was solid.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It does what it is supposed to do, nothing more nothing less

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wireframing

  ### 7. The best Tool for learners to learn about Wireframing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq was the very first tool that helped me learn about wireframes and it is also the tool that I have used to make most of my raw wireframes. The best part of it is that it provides very easy to understand pull down icons and options from the top bar which makes the wireframing journey smooth and easy to learn and build the wireframe.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The only thing I dislike about Balsamiq is that it does not provide the option to attach toggle links on all types of buttons and search bars. Also, the designs of the layouts of the devices can be improved. Rest all the features of the software are no doubt one of the best.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq provides an opportunity for any individual to use their tool and start making wireframes and understand the basics of how to make a wireframe. The tool benefitted me by letting me make my first ever wireframe for a mobile application which was later made into a real application.

  ### 8. Nice Prototype tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Creating wireframes for a website and mobile app is quite easy. As a developer, I can relate to labels used for the designs like textbox, radio etc which are quite similar to html elements.
I loved that I can link the button and hyperlink to a new landing page.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I used free version which has limited functionality. One of the example is that I cannot use drop down menu dynamically. I have to create another page and link it to drop down menu to see the drop down list which is time consuming and not that smooth transition.
I am not sure if this functionality is available in paid version.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

this tools is very user friendly and even non technical person can learn it quickly with basic knowledge of the tool.
Availability of freemium version - basic web and mobile designs availability.

  ### 9. Great tool for easily and quickly creating UI prototypes!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve C. | Senior Product Analyst, CBAP®, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Overall, I genuinely enjoy using Balsamiq and find it to be very straightforward to use. With this tool, I can quickly create wireframes and other UI prototypes. The interface is generally simple and not cluttered with an overabundance of controls and options. There is also not much of a learning curve at all with this product due to its simplicity and the intuitive design of the interface.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq does not provide a way to easily share designs with others nor does it provide a good way to collaborate with others on a given design. The other annoyance is the fact that Baslamiq files can become very large and therefore may take a longer to open when there are several designs saved in the same file.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Balsamiq to design both basic and complex UI/UX prototypes. I can quickly create prototypes to share with the development team in the very early stages of the design process. I can then modify and improve the prototype (as needed) and quickly get feedback on those designs from our users through usability testing.

  ### 10. Useful tool for learning and creating wireframes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nellie S. | Content Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I'm new to wireframing so I appreciated the content and instructional videos. I am looking to expand my skills in UI/design as a content writer so seeing this side of things is very useful.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I think other tools might be more ubiquitous in the industry so I wonder if I need to spend more time learning on a different platform. But this was a good place to learn.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planning before building has been helpful to spend time on before building things with my team. We can all get on the same page before we start which saves us headaches in the future.

  ### 11. My experience with Balsamiq

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Susmita R. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is a lightweight tool that is very simple and easy to use. Not only technical users, but also non-technical users can easily use this software. You can easily create your mockups and prototype with the available shapes and diagrams available in it. The drag and drop features have made the work much simpler and faster, saving the developer's time. A feature set focused on developing wireframes in the shortest amount of time. Ability to simply exchange components within a project or download pre-made components from a central library. Much less expensive than other competitors. Everything is at your fingertips thanks to the toolbar at the top. There are a lot of options available, and they're all good for laying down processes. Viewing wireframes is a simple operation that takes place on the left side of the screen.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

In some situations, wireframes can appear childish and unprofessional. Based on Adobe Air technology, which is now obsolete. Despite the fact, it has different diagrams, they are not enough, and it is not enriched in functionalities. It doesn't support interactive prototyping, unlike other similar products. Only if you pay for it, a limited number of elements, pages, and projects are available on a single license. Some of the things are difficult to modify. It's not easy or always possible to resize columns. There is no option to collaborate; nevertheless, if it were web-based, it would be considerably more powerful. The picture support is cumbersome and awkward.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

I would like to recommend technical, non-technical users try this software.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes my job easier and creates a clean wireframe right away. I won't use anything else for Wireframing because the pre-set buttons that you can drag are the greatest. This is used by several folks at my firm for software design prototypes. We've used it to get approval for pages in a customer's portal, including how consumers would be channeled and navigate them, and how procedures would function through APIs we're implementing. We previously utilized Visio for this type of design. The iteration is faster during web development and it saves time learning new thing.

  ### 12. Simple, elegant wire-framing tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gideon A. | Director, Experience Design, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Drop-dead easy to learn, Balsamiq is a go-to tool for getting ideas out quickly. Especially during Covid while everyone is working from home and whiteboards are a thing of the past, you can sketch out an idea or concept in less time than it takes to talk about it. And since pictures clarify while words can often be misconstrued, Basamiq is a terrific way to share ideas easily. The comic book lines ensure that nobody takes this as a finished wireframe.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Better prototyping ability would be helpful to test interactions as well as layout.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As noted, we use it to generate and share ideass for UI and interaction quickly and effectively. Benefits are especially apparent when the teams are working remotely.

  ### 13. Quick tool for wireframes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

This is the easiest and quickest tool to create wireframes. Drag and drop makes life easy and great. Also, predefined components help to make rapid wireframes.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I don't think there is anything I dislike about Balsamiq, apart from the fact that it isn't easy to create complicated scenarios. Also, sometimes the cloud version goes slow.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

If you are looking for a tool only for wireframes, please go ahead and use this.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We create quick wireframes for clients' projects and our products. This is like a digital paper where we convert the ideas into digital form. Black and white (fewer colors) help me to just focus on UX instead of UI elements.

  ### 14. Easy to use software for wireframing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The simplicity of interface and sharing with peers is something we really liked.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Haven't used the platform in as much detail to come across something that stood out in a negative way.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Go ahead, it's a great tool for wireframing.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were undergoing a major website redesign excercise and we used Balsamiq for all our primary wireframing.

  ### 15. The best mockup program of all time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nil T. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It's one of the most user-friendly platforms for creating mockups.
+ Rich content
+ Assets for both iOS and Android
+ Also great for creating websites & saas tools mockups

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It can be a bit slow sometimes, and maybe they should increase its performance. And I'd like to see more specific icons. Sometimes it's not enough, and I cannot find what I'm looking for.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a well-rounded product, so you can prepare mockups for everything you can image, such as for websites, mobile apps, b2b saas tools, even marketing banners and etc.

  ### 16. Super easy (but limited) prototyping tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juliana K. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is easy to use and to introduce to other teammates without a design background. The ability to drag-and-drop components makes it intuitive for most users! Their component gallery has pretty much all the elements one would need to create wireframes for testing ideas. I also love the ability to create simple links between screens, which makes it easy to test navigation.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The simplicity helps with ease of use, but it can be limiting at times. The table component is hard to use and very limited. I end up using lines or rectangles when I need a better "table".

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for creating wireframes quickly. Excellent for testing the early stages of product ideas!

  ### 17. My go-to for wireframing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It's incredibly simple to use. I can just drag things on to the screen from the toolbox and I have a wireframe. Other products are much more bloated and complicated to use.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I'd like a few more pre-built controls in the toolbox.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Balsamiq to communicate with developers and for documentation of features. Because it's so fast to create a wireframe, I can use it in meetings to quickly visualize interface ideas the team is working on.

  ### 18. It is good to do a quick low fidelity wireframes.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

prototyping can be improved
ease of online collaboration.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i make quick mockups to discuss with team.
it helps me to uncover ideas and thoughts quickly
it makes me to get quick useful feedbacks of stakeholders, before it is too late

  ### 19. Great for creating webpage wireframe

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like it's features that allow creating digital sketches for concept generation this improves visual communication and idea aharing across team members and stakeholdey

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It maybe expensive for a commercial license. It would be great to add more web based collaboration features and customizable and measurable design elements for different needs

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is great for idea generation on webpage and marketing needs that projects into different clients. Improved communication and mockup development for our project webpages is also beneficial

  ### 20. Easy program to start wireframing, lacks some refinement of other tools

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Easy to get started building wireframes or mockups, setup is easy

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

While great for traditional wireframes, when you want to produce more pixel perfect work, it doesn't seem to have as many tools

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting visual representation on software development objectives our quickly

  ### 21. Quick Wireframing Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like that the style is very rustic, almost like actual drawn-out assets. It's quite easy to use with some presets and assets that you can use to make your wireframes looking more filled in. The aspect I like most is being able to easily annotate the screens. I've used this tool since my college days and into my professional work.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It's easy to use but it also doesn't have a lot of the functions that other heavy-duty design tools have.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick prototyping or wireframing.

  ### 22. Balsamiq is a great tool for UI/UX needs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Inna R. | Sr. Business Analyst, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Great software to have quick mock-ups/designs. Very easy to work with, very intuitive and powerful. Easy to install/setup.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Not easy to share with the individuals who don't have Balsamiq (we used to copy the screens in such situations).

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq is a great tool to design the web pages and the application flow for a brand new application, that could be easily converted to wireframes, with low time and effort spent.

  ### 23. Great, easy to use sketch tool

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

ease of objects ready for creating mockups -great for beginners

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Sometimes it would be nice to have a bit of higher quality - but not a deal breaker!

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

early state mockups for app/software design

  ### 24. Great for basic wireframing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will E. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Great for quickly throwing together a design idea in a wireframe to share with teammates and for quick user flow feedback. When using the tool, I often make a mockup and then export as a PDF to print out and test paper prototypes with users for feedback.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

A tad rigid in some of the functionality which sometimes makes me choose to use another tool that allows me to mainly sketch the idea out. Additional customization would help a lot for improving the product.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Great for basic wireframing but you'll likely move to another piece of software in the later phases quickly.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating wireframes to quickly iterate on user flows and experiences.

  ### 25. my Balsamiq Review

I like how quickly you can build up a wireframe, both static and clickable, and have a number of button, text, and CTA elements available to you

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I feel like it's sometimes difficult to find the design element you're looking for

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows me to quickly create a design artifact, in both Mobile and Web formats. Quick way capture an idea and thought into a more presentable format

  ### 26. It comes with plenty of templates

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adriana L. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

There are different templates available for different purposes, which makes easy to start

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I would like to be able to change more details related with the design

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

It is useful to create a quick version of a Software Idea, and it is also possible to work both online or locally (they have both version available)

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Balsamiq to create a mock-up of a software project

  ### 27. It is easy to use thanks and has a great interface

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan T. | Organization Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

We can place the components in the desired place to verify if customers can feel the importance of the element applied on the page we are creating. We can easily put ourselves in the user's place and think from their perspective to verify if we are working on a usable interface. In addition, the link between the pages and mosaics helps us see how the transition between each page looks, I usually use RAW prototypes scribbling in my notes after starting to use the Balsamiq tool and everything worked as expected.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Multiple display screens the canvas size could be improved since it could be a problem if the user wanted to draw multiple screens, not dynamic enough, the program only exports to certain file formats what is inefficient for many users, in the same way if the user wants to create something customized from scratch the built-in forms can be a bit restrictive.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

I have used it since then for many projects that involve interface design and user experience. It is the most intuitive tool, extremely simple but at the same time very complete, it hardly takes time to understand how to use it is as simple as dragging and dropping items from a large menu to your canvas and starting to organize them the way you want them to look its interface It has many elements to build your design and you can program them to simulate user interactions. It makes it very easy to build your models and it is also extremely fun to use, we recommend it to anyone.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This great tool helped us for desktop and mobile applications with very good results, customers generally love its friendly appearance, since the project can be exported as an interactive PDF if you programmed any interaction, you can show your customers a simulation of UX and they love. Anyone can schedule these interactions using the software does not need prior experience, it is just about connecting slides in a similar way to scheduling a PowerPoint presentation.

  ### 28. Balsamiq helps wit initial wireframes design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunny A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is a good tool to create quick wireframes. these wireframes are created as prototypes for our client projects. Balsamiq has good elements to create the wireframes.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Nothing to dislike about Balsamiq. Most elements are available and is used in flowcharts by our team.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Balsamiq is good for drawing architectures and flow. It can be helpful to various people who draw things online.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq is used to manage wireframe designs by our team. We create wireframes for projects and to discuss ideas with our customers.

  ### 29. Thanks for helping me create Prototypes, Sketches and Wireframes can only be achieved with Balsamiq

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna C. | Manager General , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I really like balsamiq since it helped me to improve the designed screens that store in files of extension bmml, a language of the application, based on xml, that can be interpreted to obtain the design information created, this helps us later to be able to create the project as similar as possible to our sketch on paper. While we do it in pencil, we make changes, we cross out, we have better ideas and these sketches become the prototype.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

To be honest, it does not have anything to displease me, since it serves to create flowcharts, uml and others it is very versatile, it also facilitates me to draw an idea quickly, so that I can move on to a more detailed prototype. If you need a simple tool for models and fast structures, Balsamiq is a too simple option for employees to develop excellent projects.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

This product can be recommended for its simplicity of the tool to save, open and convert them in different document formats, it is also an application used, among other things, for the design of prototypes of screens, also has a process called Wireframing which is the creation of the structure of an interface. All this can be done since it appeared in our company Balsamiq.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to design and build new web pages, but with Balsamiq everything has been faster and more efficient since it helps us focus on the important details in the early stages of new product designs and allows you to drag and drop buttons, form fields and text on the screen with comments so that our clients can clearly understand what we are offering.

  ### 30. I use balsamiq to create mockups for the projects that I plan to implement in future

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** giorgi g. | Giorgi Gogoladze, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I mostly like its easy to use design. everyone can use it without difficulties

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I dislike that it has a few forms and tools to create mockups , in general its enough to create what you want, but would be better if would be much more forms.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

I recommend everyone to use balsamiq for creating mockups, because its very easy to use, you can create quick prototypes and that's the biggest opportunity to know others idea about your plan before you implement it

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create prototype of my project, show them to others and understand their opinion about it. It Helps to know others idea about my plan which is very essential for me .

  ### 31. Nice Entry MockUp Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin G. | Business Analyst & Project Manager, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like the easiness and quickness creating a new mockup at work. Before I got Balsamiq I spent days creating the static mockups due to the lack of UI/UX that free software has. Also, I like how you can link mockups like if you were in a real webpage, it gives you a broader idea on how your end product could look and also, to fix things before making it, which reduces our development time.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I would really, really like more options, more icons, templates for mobiles and web pages, for example, it would be nice that it was already a template for login, another for standard maintenance and so on.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Easy of use, nice price, multiple deployments are the keys for me, I haven't needed their support which I believe it is something good because the product is well designed for its purposes.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in a software company, I'm in charge of creating the business requirements, so, it is really important for me that all the developers get my ideas, which at the end, are the ideas of our customers and sometimes they didn't get what I was trying to let them know, it could probably my fault, for not making myself clear enough. But since we started to use Balsamiq, the development times have been improved, since they are now more focused on what the customer expects viewing the mockups that I have created.

  ### 32. I use balsamiq mockups for creating design of my projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** mariam a. | mariam asatiani, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like the UI and UX of the tool. It's very easy to use. you can quickly find everything you want

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The one thing that I don't like is that balsamiq has a little variety of forms. I t would be perfect If some new forms are added

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

I recommend everyone to use balsamiq, because its very easy to use tool and convenient for creating designs of future projects

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create project plan in advance it is created. I create mockups which helps me to share my ideas with others and they can better imagine my ideas

  ### 33. A simple app to make low fidelity mockups quickly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juliet B. | Financial Planner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Sometimes you want to create mockups which are at a fidelity between hand sketching app screens and creating them in Sketch/Figma/XD/etc. Balsamiq has a great suite of icons and shapes built in and make creating low fidelity screens quickly very easy.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The app does not support pinch to zoom on Mac. This can make it jarring when you try to zoom in to see finer details more clearly.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Balsamiq is one of the most lightweight tools you can use for low fidelity mockups. There is an initial upfront cost, but brings you great returns, especially for freelancers who need to create quick proof of concepts for clients.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do web design as a hobby and Balsamiq is a great tool to use as a proof of concept for clients. It helps me create screens that look "designed" and professional without me having to spend so much time creating high fidelity mockups.

  ### 34. I use balsamiq mockups to create the prototype of my projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George B. | George Bakuradze, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like mostly its easy design. You can do everything you want in a simple manner.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Would be better if it will have much more forms to use.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

I suggest everyone to use balsamiq for creating mockups in a easy and convenient way. It's very comfortable to create the prototypes of your project so easily

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create mockups before I implement project and it helps me to share my ideas with others and get their feedback

  ### 35. Extremely user friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sid S. | Venture Capital Analyst - Intern, Venture Capital & Private Equity, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2019

  ### 36. Balsamiq ideal for wireframes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Virginie L. | autonome, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is the simplest and most intuitive tool I know for designing complex web layouts without losing focus on aesthetics. The "hand-drawn" look achieved in the wireframes facilitates understanding during meetings, and people who are not designers will interact more with the wireframes than if the projects were actually designed. Balsamiq is intuitive enough to become proficient with its control panel in just a few minutes, even if you have never used it before. In case you have trouble learning, there is a lot of information and tutorials on the Internet to learn how to use it.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I would like to see more templates, icons, and other elements for other use cases. Other than that, I don't have much negative to say about what I don't like about this program, except that there aren't some options to create other schemes/sketches of elements. This program focuses a lot on iOS, Android, and smartphone applications.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

It allows us to see a sketch in freehand of what the state and design of our website could be before implementing it definitively.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits of this software, like any other wireframe design software, are to get an idea of how it would look and to test the computer-user interactions as well as the user experience before it is definitively implemented. It facilitates understanding with end clients, as we can create web page prototypes.

  ### 37. Powerful for a well-established team

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

A quick way for wireframing when the team is already on the same page, styles are developed, and you just need to discuss new features. Works well if team members are good with abstract thinking.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

A nightmare for other situations, when it brings confusion for people who can't concentrationg on the details while abstracting from the shape well enough. Doesn't allow to assess feasibility for dense UIs.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

That's hit-n-miss, really depends on a particular team and its maturity

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After several attempts of using it for different stages, came to the conclusion to use it as a whiteboard only when whiteboarding images are to be prepared before the meeting, not during it.

  ### 38. I use balsamiq for creating mockups for my future projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** saba t. | saba tatanashvili, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I mostly like that its very easy to use and has possibility to create very similar of what you plan

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't have much forms to use

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

I recommend everyone to use balsamiq mockups to create the design of their projects , after using it there is no need to imagine the project, you can see it yourself before it's implemented.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create project visualizations and share it with others -understand others opinion about my plan. This tool helps me very much. I can get others feedback and correct some mistakes.

  ### 39. Simple, yet powerful wireframing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith K. | Digital Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is my go-to software for simple screen mockups. As a digital product owner, I often have to think through the ways my customer will interact with our applications. Balsamiq lets me drag and drop buttons, form fields, and text on the screen with comments so our designers and developers understand how each screen and control are supposed to function.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is NOT intended to give a final view of the design, nor is it intended to create a working prototype. If you're looking for something along those lines, I'd suggest checking into a product like Invision. The tools in Balsamiq are very versatile, but occasionally, I can't find exactly what I want, like a like a multi-select combo dropdown.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Give the free trial a try. Balsamiq is great for what it was designed to do - rapid wireframe development. If you can build slides in Powerpoint, you should have no problems using Balsamiq. Note: this review was based on the desktop version, Mockups 3 for Desktop. I have not used the Cloud version.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq gives me a way to easily visualize the screen layout and communicate those requirements to designers and developers. It has a lot of standard controls, so I can easily drag and drop what I want where I want it without having to do everything from scratch. It makes it easy to iterate through different options and speeds up the critical pre-design phase.

  ### 40. Creating mockups is balsamiq is very convenient

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** mariam k. | mariam kvitsinadze, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like the most its easiness and user friendly design

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I dislike the scarce of the forms in the tool

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

balsamiq is a tool by which everyone can create mockups in a easy way. It has very user friendly design and everyone can work in it easily. So I recommend everyone to use it

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create the design of my future project and its very comfortable for me , because I can share everyone my ideas so that they can imagine its visualization

  ### 41. Quick and easy wireframes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer B. | Graphic Design Intern, Information Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The software is user-friendly. The templates provided make creating wireframes quick and are an effective use of time.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

There is nothing that I dislike at this time.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly create wireframes and discuss them before proceeding to the next step in the process.

  ### 42. Creativity with guidance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aslesha G. | Student Ambassador - ITM Student Leadership Council, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

One of the best tools for wireframes including visual details.. I love the flexibility and other icons it offers. It made my life much easier for designing the application very quickly. Click-through prototypes to simulate how a user might flow through the site.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Nothing to be honest. But if they can improve navigation and drag/drop of elements, it would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Amazing tool for designing wire-frames. By far the best tool, i have used. Very easy to understand and use. It is pretty much self explanatory while using it.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use to create designs of my mobile applications and website. I recently used it in my academic project as well to design a prototype of new application for university.

  ### 43. Great for mocking up product software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antony B. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It's very easy to create something quick to show to developers and designers without spending too much time.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Quite limited in terms of features and no team collaboration updates.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency within the workplace in terms of design and development

  ### 44. An easy to use interface for prototyping and wire framing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wafiullah W. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

A real fast and intuitive software that allows you to brainstorm your design wishes and makes it easy for graphic designers to make original designs.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The pricing model per project does not make sense. 2 projects is 49.99/year and then jumps to up to 20 projects

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

wireframing web apps and mobile apps for design guidelines with third party graphic designers.

  ### 45. really easy to use but not professional

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

For new UX/ students creating a mock-up it is a really easy tool to learn. All you need to do is drag and drop. I created a mock up in 2 hours for an instagram redesign & it was easy to export and present. In terms of Learnability and intuitiveness this app is fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I do not like the limitations, I need an app that allows me to make more edits and I felt confined by the options. Furthermore, it is a little bit cartooney/ unprofessional looking in certain environments. I couldn’t present that as a redesign for a military project or some of the airlines I work with.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

It’s so easy to use and if you’re looking for a simple way to make mockups that aren’t flashy looking and you don’t mind a somewhat cartooney look it’s worth it!

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would say it allows me to make a rough draft of my mock-up before creating the interactive one I will show easily and in terms of teaching it allows students to get a great idea of how to build a mock-up and for those who are not great at design they can make something look good without an artistic background.

  ### 46. Simple easy and efficient

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Inbuilt templates and easy to play around with. Drag and drop is pretty easy to use. Great part is that it works great even though styles are in black and white.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Hasn't expanded a lot in the past years. Also, wireframing is becoming easier on other platforms like sketch

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Pretty great for beginners. Especially when you're just learning how to start with UI/ UX.
Also a great way to demonstrate ideas in a team where you can quickly whip up something from scratch. Thanks to the inbuilt elements and templates.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

wireframing is becoming easier on other platforms like sketch. Need a better user experience for usage

  ### 47. Good tool for creating mockups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** rati k. | rati, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like it's easiness and very comfortable design

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I dislike that it doesn't have full package of creating design, for example linking figures and pages

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

I advise this tool everyone who wants to make a sketch of their product/project

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create the design and suggest it to others and get feedback from them

  ### 48. Good Mock up tool with extensive options for both Web and mobie

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It makes wireframing easy and hassle-free, most of the utility options are available as a drag and drop feature. Mobile wireframing is great since it lets you upload images too

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Unlike other wireframing tools, this is balck&white and hence it is not very visually appealing for creators

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Integrations if possible should be done Since UX teams designs it and they could share it on the task board for developers to have a look at it and may also create views for developers where they can just view and not edit the design

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developed wireframing for redesign and also helped in deliverables of mobile application during the initial stages of product prototyping

  ### 49. Easy and intuitive to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like the fact that the software is easy to use and very intuitive. It has a drag and drop interface which makes designing very easy. It has an amazing collection of repositories to use to create mockups and wireframes.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I think it should have a feature for collaboration. This helps the designers to work together. I also think that there should be more items added to the repository like ready-made widgets.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped a lot in designing workflows and wireframes. wireframing is really important to lay the foundation for any interface and with Balsamiq, it has been very efficient.

  ### 50. Great for beginning stages of design

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I love that it makes it easy to conceptualize layout and very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I wish there was additional functionality to actually add in more design elements to bring the mock-up to life after approval.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We like to use it in order to collaboratively come up with a layout for our web apps without overthinking things like fonts and color.
